Base Pricing based on labour: A Market Study
By Satsuki Shizuka 五月靜
One of the most daunting tasks in ECO is determining the comparison of "apples and oranges" - drawing equivalence between two (or three) groups of resources that have no direct hierarchical relationships with each other. Just how does the value of a log compare to a piece of ore to a sheaf of wheat? Thanks to a tradition of great minds in deep mines, a common measure of 'labour' sometimes translated through 'calories' provided some measure of commonality between the commodities.

A labour based comparison
With this in mind, here is an example from Maiestas Haven: The popular currency usually is set up with it representing 1/2 of a labour point (or 2 currency per labour unit), so that the final value would be a whole number rather than decimals (unless taxes and other fine accounting come into play).

While the above image does not show the comparison for agricultural products, such as foodstuffs and fibers, it does show another thing in mind: Profit margins are calculated on top of the base pricing, and how much one should multiply the base price with if one wants to also account for efficiencies created with upgrade modules combined.
