! WARNING !
Due to the dangers of ceiling fans I have realized that I should specify all of this work is done on your computer. You should also at no point come across "Are you sure you want to delete System32?"
Welcome!
If you're like me, you may have become addicted to the game shortly after release, and already have over 24 hours in gameplay. If this sounds like you, then this guide is what you are probably looking for.

Signs of addiction are:
  • No urge to stop playing after a 10 hour session.
  • Declining mental capacity, most likely leading to accidents.
  • Wasting time ingame, even if you are bored because of it.

Now, let's get on with it, shall we?
Step 1
Press Esc
The Esc (Escape) button is usually located in the top left of your keyboard. If you don't have a keyboard, I don't know how you're playing this game. This is by far the easiest step, but should still be taken with precision.
Step 2
Locate the "Quit" button
After pressing esc, a menu should appear with four options:
  1. Return to Game
  2. Save
  3. Preferences
  4. Quit

Click the fourth and bottom option "Quit", not to be confused with "Return to Game".

You will then be prompted by the game asking whether to save or not. Choose accordingly based on whether you want to keep your 20 car pile-up.

Step 3
Locate the "Quit" button in the main menu.
Just as before, the "Quit" button will be located at the bottom, once again not to be confused with "Singleplayer" or "Multiplayer".
https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/2297462073177142896/C2857B5918CEC96CD28DB7A96AD39E8D8A39E14B/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

After clicking "Quit", it may take a few moments to close. If it does not close, forfeit all possessions to your family and start drafting your will.
Congratulations! (Hopefully)
If you followed all steps correctly, and your CPU decided it liked you today, then you should have just closed the Railroader application! If not, I am unable to help you further. Good luck and happy railroading!

Didn't work. I was launched into a new savegame and muscle-memoried my way into buying a C-25 with a loan. Help.
