Go to the top right on steam where you can see your account name

Click on the menu from step one and then click on "account details"

In the account details page click on "store preferences"

Scroll down to "community content preferences" -> "chat filtering"

You may have selected "do not filter strong profanity or slurs" and "do not filter text from my steam friends" only to realize they don't work

In never filter these words type ".*" and click on add
