Restoring XCOM 2 Multiplayer
Re-enabling the “deleted” XCOM 2 multiplayer with two clicks

Hello, Commanders!
This just in: bombshell of a story!
Turns out no one removed the multiplayer in XCOM 2; devs just deleted the “multiplayer” button.
And we found the way to restore it. We’ll explain it here.
How to restore it
To re-enable multiplayer you need to visit the game’s properties in your Steam library.






Here we open the Betas section and select the only available branch.
And then we wait for the download and file verification to end.

Results
Now you have access to the multiplayer. Enjoy it!

Closing thoughts
As far as I understand, this beta is for a version before the “multiplayer servers” were disabled for XCOM 2 multiplayer. However, the matches use Peer-to-peer connection, which means there is no middleman needed for the players to connect. Therefore you can play again with little issue.

We are regularly playing multiplayer on our steam chatr: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/chat/invite/Vl8VUWnP. If you want to find an opponent – swing by, we have over 100 enjoyers of the game there already.
We have also developed our own multiplayer mod that adjusts balance, adds more units to PvP (including the Chosen) and fixes most of the bugs present in the vanilla online matches.

Yes, everything works if you follow the steps in the instructions. We play multiplayer every day

Fantastic. Does this still work? I have 4 friends that want to play this tonight multiplayer if it does.. I can't test and I don't want to tell them to buy the game if it doesn't work.. cos 4 more sales plus a bunch other of their friends (all big xcom fans) and just returned after 7 years of service. So, yeh more like 20 sales
