[Old! New link in description]ES Luxembourg Mk II Class

Description
Check out the new and much improved version here:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3157569151

The Mk II of the ES Luxembourg is the long due improvement over the back in the day popular interceptor frigate by EuroSpace, turning it from a single design to a ship class with two distinct designs.

ES Luxembourg-A Mk II:
With offensive armament staying the same, the A-version sacrifices a bit of speed the old model had for more shielding and side-point defense. The relatively low damage output for its size encourages strategies that rely on maneuverability like orbiting or flanking to defeat most opponents of similar or larger size. It is thus well suited for the role of a military escort.
Speed - 88m/s, Crew - 48, Cost - €341.700,-

ES Luxembourg-B Mk II:
The B-version is the larger of the two, carrying one extra pair of Heavy Blasters, a second battery of side-point defense guns, as well as a large shield on either side to protect the weapon arrays. It also has more speed than the Luxembourg-A and features rear shields for safer orbiting and flanking in battles against multiple opponents.
Speed - 93m/s (~104m/s boost), Crew - 84, Cost - €493.850,-

I should have explained it in a more detailed way.
No, I don't think you need to have only one option, only one side. The ship should be completely capable of facing different situations, for example, when facing a swarm - you want to turn on both sides.
What I meant is to increase the versatility of guns serving crew roles.

For example, I know that I will be using only one side, so I turn off the other side, but I don't want off side crew to just sit in their idle room, they can be helping with other stuff.
I can also switch working side with hotkeys, it is very quick. And your placing of crew rooms is very efficient already, in my opinion, so switching of sides will be quick.

You mean cut the weapons crew in half and only turn on which ever side is facing the enemy. That is a neat idea to save costs, but I'd still be paying twice for each weapon that's firing. It would probably be better to just choose one side, put all the weapons there and make it an orbiter that can only orbit in that one direction.
But I'll keep your idea in mind. Maybe eventually I'll make a ship that can switch the sides on which it orbits and constantly turns off/on the according weapons. I have tested an idea that is similar to that with 360° ions, but I haven't made it into a finished ship yet.

Have you thought of the layout, where you choose to turn on the side which will fire, so free crew from off side would do other tasks?

Thx, though its looks are definitely much better than its function. I'm not happy with the weapon layout, as concentrating fire of both sides is not super easy.
