Introduction
Welcome back, series viewers, and welcome to all of the new viewers. This is much like my last guide about the Scout, but it will be covering the Soldier's abilities.
Health
I dunno... If I was facing this guy on the battlefield, I'd drop my gun and hope I was a Scout.

Anyways, soldiers have the second-highest health in the game with 200 health. They are one of four classes who can survive a Sniper's quickscope headshot at full health (the others being Demoman, Pyro, and Heavy). Not much else to say except that he's a good medic buddy.
Splash Damage
Fixed the picture!

Anyways, a Soldier's rockets have the capability to hit multiple people with a single shot. Rockets explode (duh) and cause splash damage. The farther away from the point of impact the player is, the less damage they take, to a minimum of 12. Also, the farther the Soldier is from the target when the rocket hits also decreases damage from rockets. Still nothing much to say here. Onwards!
Rocket Jumping
That's right. In TF2, not only are rockets not one hit kills, some people shoot themselves.

Soldiers are able to shoot at their own feet to launch themselves into the air. A proper rocket jump can send you across the map and towards the skybox, while a failed one will leave you with 140 health and no bonus. The best method for a starting rocket jump is to get a running start, jump, crouch in midair, and then fire at your feet. Just watch out for fall damage! If you're having trouble with rocket jumping, get the... uh... orange stripey rocket launcher thing (forgot it's name) and the B.A.S.E. Jumper. This will negate rocket jump and fall damage respectively if you press Space before you land from a rocket jump. Yeah.
Projectile Weapon
The Soldier's rockets are, in the TF2 code's eyes, projectiles. This means:

-They have a travel time to their target

-Soldier rockets do not arc nor lose speed, but will self destruct after a certain distance

-Pyros can right click with their flamethrowers to reflect the rocket

That's it. Simple, right?
Conclusion
Thank you for taking five minutes to read this guide! I enjoy making these quite a lot, and yes, they will eventually cover more complex, advanced topics.

Anyways, these are released weekly, but if you want to know about it sooner, join my Steam group! There's a link below.

Or not. So what about here?

Oh, there it is. Anyways, sorry if I haven't been keeping up with the group as much lately, having to juggle my little half-formed (half life?) indie dev company Angry Cloud Games and my outside life as well is taxing. I'll try to find a spot in my schedule on some days for it. Thanks for reading, and I'll see you next week.
