How to set the items to be loaded into caravan, dependent on Pawns quantity

Open menu
0. Go to "Caravan Equip" section and click on "Create Rule"
Set to whom the rule will be applied
1. Go to "Apply to Personnel" section
Fill in the rule's description (Bedroll in the example).

2. Add the "Race" filter
Click on "Root", double click on "Add New Filter", select "Race"

3. Modify the filter
Open the filter
Select the type
"Any humanoid" - all pawns, prisoners, etc.
Multiple selection is possible (<CTRL>, <SHIFT>).

4. Test
Check if this filter works. Window will show to whom this rule will be applied. In that case all 3 colonists are found. If any of them will be added to caravan, this rule will be applied.

6. In "Caravan" section it will be defined what to load
This rule will run for each colonist, to whom this rule applied (done in previous step).

7. Add "Category" filter
Click on "Root", double click on "Add New Filter", select "Category".

8. Double click on the filter to edit it

9. Add bedrolls to be included

10. Set the quantity and test
This number of items will be added for each colonist.
Because the option "Treat Defs as Separate" is disabled, either "Bedroll" or "Double Bedroll" will be added, not both.
Potential mistake
Make sure, that the items, which need to be taken with, are defined in "Caravan" section.
And the pawns, on which quantity will it all be based, are defined in "Apply to Personnel" section.
Not wise versa (I personally almost always do another way around).

Check the state
Notice, that there are no Pawns included <...>
<...> and therefore no items added

Reset, add pawns and close window
Click "Reset", then Select Pawns and click "Cancel"

If caravan has been formed before, then some items might already be included to it. "Auto Caravan Equip" doesn't remove any items from caravan, which means, that on top of already included items the new items will be added by "Auto Caravan Equip". Even if it the same items, which have been added in previous attempt of forming a caravan.
It is the reason to always reset the items between attempts.

That time, because there are selected Pawns, the items, related to them, are added to the queue for loading

By default all rules will be applied for forming the caravan

Second rule ("Apply to Personnel" section is the same as in "Bedrolls" example):

Test with 2 Pawns selected
As expected, 2 bedrolls and 2x10 Meals
Why not to use default option?

Answer: With "Auto Caravan Equip" you have more control of what needs to be loaded, rules can be very complex and they are perfect to manage the caravans if some additional mods like "Combat Extended" are used. For example, this mod will allow to check Pawn's inventory and depends on the gun he has equipped, add additional ammunition to caravan's load.
