So, you are reading this guide to learn how to play DarkRP, am I correct?
Well, one of the first questions is : What is DarkRP?

DarkRP is a gamemode based on urban life. You can choose from a number of jobs, explore the map, and most likely get shot in the face. Yeah, doesn't sound too pleasent. But once you know the basics, you will know how to avoid death.

The very first thing you need to do on DarkRP is to READ THE SERVER'S RULES.
If you don't, you will most likely get kicked/banned.

Here is a list of common rules.

Do not RDM. - This means to Randomly kill someone without a valid reason or no pattern.

New Life Rule - This means that when you die, you know nothing about your past life, and you cannot go to your death point until an amount of time.

Do not Metagame. - This means that YOUR DarkRP character makes use of knowledge that the player is aware of, but the character you are in the RP isn't supposed to.

If you press your SPARE2 (configurable from the game settings) key, then the DarkRP menu will show up. This has alot of things you need.
It has stuff you can buy, and the jobs you can pick. Nothing really to say about the menu, but it will look different from on some servers.

Here is the big part. The Jobs. This is a major part in DarkRP, and I will be showing you the default jobs. Some servers have more jobs, so I cannot explain ALL of them.

Citizen
----------------
This guy really isn't that special.
He is just a guy without a job, who builds a house and buys stuff.
Nothing really to say about him.


Civil Protection
--------------------
Civil Protection follows the laws made by the mayor, and makes sure the other people in the city
are following them. You have a stunstick, battering-ram, unarrest baton, arrest baton, and some kind of pistol. Use your arrest baton to arrest people who are doing something illegal, and use your battering-ram to break through locked doors.



Mayor
---------
The mayor creates laws for the city/town, announces lockdowns, and more.
Command the Civil-Protection in order to keep your town safe.



Medic
--------
You are a guy that heals people for money.
That is all.



Hobo
-------
You are a homeless man. You have no job, no money, and must beg for money.


Gangster
------------
The gangster is a criminal in the city. The gangster follows whatever the Mob Boss says. Buy some stores, follow your boss, and get rich.


Mob Boss
--------------
The Mob Boss is the leader of the gangsters in the city. Command your fellow gangsters by using /agenda. Use your lockpick and unarrest baton to break criminals out of jail. On some servers, you are also a hitman, and you can accept hits from people for money.


Cook
-------
This job is usually on servers when HungerMod is enabled.
When HungerMod is enabled, you will have a hunger bar. You need to eat food...
made by the cook!

Custom Jobs are jobs that are not added by default. Here is a list of some!

Thief
----------------
Thief usually has no salary, and the way he gets money is breaking into people's homes.
Thieves usually have a lockpick, which can be used to open doors. This takes some time, and has a noise, so be sneaky.

So you learned the basics, but you still have much to learn! This part of the guide tells you tips on playing DarkRP.



- Be smart. Plan out your actions, and try your best to not make any mistakes.

- Always have something for self defense. DarkRP is a dangerous place, and you require a weapon. Buy some ranged weapons from the gun dealer, and use your guns wisely.

- Never trust a candy-man. 90% of the time, the candy is made out of humans.

- Never go on a DarkRP server with kid admins. They are (usually) very immature.
