How to make playable Vinyl records in Tower Unite
By Rad Floppa
Hey guys, this is my first real guide, so sorry if the formatting is weird or whatever. I'm a big fan of vinyl records and decided to make my own little vinyl record listening corner.

I realised that it's possible to make it so you can listen to vinyl records in game so I'm here to teach you how to do that :)

Making the image itself
Ok now you might be wondering what to do about the Tower unite side of stuff, but lets not get ahead of ourselves, we need an image first.

So first step would be to pick an album you like (and that preferably has a full album on youtube)
For my example, I chose "the first glass beach album" by glass beach.

Now you're gonna need the template for the image, which is located here[drive.google.com]

For the next step, you're going to want to find images of the cover and back of the Album

I'm going to be using Photoshop but you could use paint if you dont know how to pirate own photoshop

I'm not gonna go into detail, but basically i looked at the physical copy I own (look on google or youtube videos if you don't own the album) and made my own spine (aka the side) because I couldn't really find a good one on google. If you have trouble with fonts you can use a font finder website and then download a free version of it somewhere else. (the font in this example is ITC Bauhaus Medium)
Hosting the image
Personally, I like to use discord to host my images, but you can use anything you want, like imgur or whatever.

I have my own private discord server for this stuff already, so I just pasted it in the chat and copied the link, which we will need to keep on our clipboard for the next step

Making the vinyl in Tower Unite
You're gonna want to get some Physics-al Media before going to your condo (you can also get it via tower express)

Now you need to scale it to these numbers (which is accessible by holding "q" and clicking on it with your mouse)

Put the link that you copied from your image host, in my case, it's discord

final step is adding the youtube URL. Optionally, you can add a Label to show the name of the album when you mouse over the item, which is cool

Now you just put a media player anywhere near your turntable (so that it plays when you throw your turntable at it). I put a screen in the wall to add some visualisation.

Here's the finished example :)[streamable.com]

yeah back then it was better to host on discord but i've found a much better way than imgur since making the guide (file size limit and compression is annoying on imgur).

You should reaaally not be using discord to host images, the links expire after 24 hours, so you're better off using a dedicated image host (and if you upload to imgur, make sure you're signed in)

Hey, I used your guide and template for a guide/archive of my own. If you like, you may add me so I can add you as a contributor.
