Today I will discuss Yandrek My favorite playable character in the game and arguably one of the best.

I mainly play PvP but things discussed will be applicable in PVE.

He is fast agile hits hard and does not play by the same rules that all other characters follow mainly - HE CANT BE BLOCKED!
That is why I Love him, because he dictates the tempo of the game no need for staling and waiting for counters.

Pros:
- Fast
- Agile
- Great reach
- Tons of damage
- Can not be blocked
- Fast Recovery
- Axe

Cons:
- Cant block
- Low stamina

There are few main strategies I use with this character:

- Play Distance game and snipe your opponent with forward YY or Up Guard
- Rush in and A or X spam till your opponent rage quits
- Sidestep Attacks to counter opponent and hit them from behind
- Feinting and throwing out of measure attacks to bait your opponent close and hit them when they least expect it.

These two strategies are best mixed up so your opponent does not know is he gonna get rushed or sniped from a mile away so don't rely on single on to much, mix em up and keep your opponent guessing

VS Long swords:
- it is good to keep them at bay with distance control, and if long-sword player is an aggressive one Retreat X an Y chops can do real great job with blocking incoming attacks an dashing out damage, So like Sun Tzu Said know your opponent an yourself and you will win every single battle.

-In my opinion Yandrek is great counter to long swords Like Issabela, Zera and is great vs Kalkstein and even Marie since he has reach similar to theirs if not greater with Forward YY.

- Rush in X spam can be another strong tool since while your spamming X it works as an active defense an keeps your opponent blade from touching you.

-So if you are struggling against them try him out you might be pleasantly surprised

VS Sabre's:
- Fast moving fast attacking opponents can counter Yandrek very well but Nice thing about Axeman that he can face vs anyone you just need to use different strategies
- Gedeon, Laszlo, Alex can be trouble for him since they attack fast move fast and sometimes they block attacks that you think shoul go through.
Vs Them From Players perspective moving Right Y and B attacks can be a great counter or retreat attacks and occasional rush In A are good tools but player must be always careful since one missed attack puts you in danger since those characters can capitalize on a whiff in an instance
-Test yourself which attacks are more or less effective since every Sabre might require you a different approach (which I wont cover since I am myself still searching for best counter attacks for them) but remember to experiment with sidestep attacks and dont let them dictate the pace of the fight
- Forward YY is great tool as well since its reach but some characters like Gedeon or Alex sometimes magically block it

- Pro Tip Never Use YY combo up close go for X or A since they are way faster an have defensive capability!

Cookie Cutter Combos -

Forward Y Y , Retreat X, Forward Y Y
- Bait and Switch, you whiff the attack retreat attack for security at this point your opponent might go into an aggression and try to close in but then you hit him with YY again catch him off guard and get some points,

Rush A or X
- Double forward you close in and A attack is instance and does not leave your opponent time to react, Don't be afraid to spam them if you already an inch from opponent since its safer then doing nothing.

Side Step Right From Player Perspective and Y Spam
- This attacks stuns locks and chains so if your opponent someone who is very straight forward you can catch while he is closing in and chop him to peaces

Side Step Right FPP and B
- This once is more specific tool targeting some of faster sabers it goes for an ankle but a lil slow on recovery

Top Guard Y or X
- Learn the distance of these since one is shorter range and other ones has a great reach which can catch opponents unexpectedly.

Retreat Chops
- Good vs more aggressive specimens, since this attacks do well at blocking and counter attacking at same time while giving you much needed distance

There are more advanced combos I might cover in Future But these are good tools to have in your Yandrek Baggage since they are highly effective, But always experiment and search for your own play style and combos that Work for you!

This will be all for now, once you master the distance and some of his cookie cutters attacks you will be set to wreck ass!

But remember Yandrek is all about controlling the distance and pace of the fights!
