Introduction
What this guide entails?
-Recovery method for lost save game progress on House Flipper Game on the Steam platform.

What is this guide most useful for?
-Recovery of lost save game progress be it via bugs, save game corruption, etc...

The Method
Warning: Make sure to disable Steam Cloud before attempting this method (as it might mess up what you are trying to restore).

-First you want to make sure you find and locate the troublesome save file that needs restoring. In this example I will be using "Profile 1". Steam stores your save game data in the following folder path (C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\LocalLow\Empyrean\House Flipper Game\Profiles). In this case, the issue is the the folder named "Profile 1".
-Secondly we will delete this folder entirely (to the recycle bin) and navigate to the following path: C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\LocalLow\Empyrean\House Flipper Game\Profiles.backup (this folder is where your Profile backup copies will be stored). Inside the "Profile 1" folder (in our case) we should find up to 5 folders with timestamps (a date/time the data was backed up).
-Thirdly we want to copy one of these folders to the desktop and rename it back to "Profile 1" after the copy procedure is done.
-Lastly we are ready to integrate this backed up folder in our save file location (C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\LocalLow\Empyrean\House Flipper Game\Profiles). After that we can launch the game and verify if the issue is fixed. We can also go ahead and re-enable the Steam Cloud if we so desire to get that extra layer of backup protection as well.

Note: In my case I have the game save files on the C: Drive. It might be different in a case by case basis.
FAQ
FAQ:
-Is this method foolproof?
Unfortunately, no. You will still have to have a fresh backup that is not in a broken state, otherwise you will sadly have lost your progress for good and will have to restart with a fresh save file.

-Is this method safe?
Yes. You are just retrieving a backup file. You are not cheating the game, downloading a virus or destroying your PC in any way by attempting this. This file is naturally generated by the game so you can recover from a broken save file (in case it happens).

-How will I know which backup file is "safe"? The backup folder can store up to 5 backups at a time.
2 methods: First one is trial and error. In my opinion this is the easier one. The second method is using multiple save file profiles (this one is much harder). I recommend trial and error with all 5 backup files until you find the one that is "safe" to use.
Conclusion
I hope this simple guide was able to help you recover your lost save data progress and happy flipping :)

@Hayakos, there should be one (because this is a natural HF1 save game recovery mechanism).
Do you have a healthy backed up Profile saves somewhere else (like an external HDD) you can place in the same directory and create the folder manually?

@carina.chadwick, with the latest update on HF1 it’s now possible to reset troublesome properties. However, I will not include this in this guide as I don’t think that’s a fair save data recovery method for the player (resetting a property to its default state means that the player will have to flip it again, therefore “losing” save game progress). This is not why I made this guide for. My guide was made to aid players without hurting their save game progress. This is merely a side note that I intend on adding to the guide. You’re welcome 🙏
