Introduction



This section contains basic information and demonstration of each and every single one of my personal class builds that I used to unlock each Hero Master Achievement, and Pure/Hybrid classes for standard or experimental play. It will be in constant updating as builds get optimized.

The aim of the builds included in this guide is to get the job done with the minimal effort/hassle possible while keeping it fresh and fun in the process. With that being said, I don't share the philosophy on something having to be done in a certain way, and as such, my intentions with these builds is to help those in need by providing my personal setups to do so. Let's keep creativity flowing, and with that, the fun.

These builds have all been tested against 6 Artifact Agony runs, meaning that these should be more than enough on lower difficulties.

Lastly, It is worth noting that these aren't written in stone, meaning that you can feel free to make adjustments to suit your playstyle, specifically if you haven't gotten access to certain gear/abilities, traits, etc, found here.

  • Make sure to max out all potions, shrine blessings, have access to the best traits, and have most of the gear before attempting this as it will make the process a lot more easier.
  • As of late, the requirement for these achievements/quest have been changed to reaching Agony III-IV on X Hall and no longer is unlocked by reaching Lv100 with the characters.

Understanding Trait Paths (General/Class)

The trait path will used in the class masters section in order to show the trait selection to make for the more specific and crucial aspects of a build. Every trait not covered by said trees is considered a banished or bonus trait and can be worked in any way the reader wants. Lastly, the title of each tree will specify what kind of trait path will be followed. Next, a small example of a trait path:

Columns

Name
Names of the class mastery traits and their categories. The categories are Weapon Mastery, Proficient Stance, and Dedication.
Tiers (I, II, III, IV, V)
The trait tiers. Class traits consist of 4 tiers followed by a Mastery tier 5 (V) whereas ability traits consist of 10 tiers.

Traits inside this cell mean standard selection without the need of locking or doubling potions.
PM
Traits inside this cell need to be locked/secured with potions of memories in order to select them all. Out of common sense though, the last trait of a category is not locked with a potion, and instead is just selected first when all other desired sister traits have been locked/secured.
PD
Traits in this cell mean that their potency must be doubled with a Reverberant Tinkture potion. This is usually reserved to the later tiers of a trait which usually come with innate doubled stats.

Swordsman


Swordsman is the game's introductory and very durable melee hero.

The tutorial guy. The Swordsman is a flexible hero that you can build in many ways. But be mindful of the path you choose as it will allow you to use the Ethereal Shift traits more efficiently. for that I suggest going full Melee/Physical in order to not suffer the trait's penalties, but the option to mix your kit is still there.

He scales with Health and Damage which makes him a good candidate for Scars of Toil and raw Damage builds.

Archer


Archer is arguably one of the best heroes in the game in it's current state. Her critical stats have proven to be more than enough to melt the hordes of enemies.

However, she is a very fragile hero and requires constant attention to the surroundings to avoid sudden deaths in some halls, especially when starting to play the game and a vast majority of gear and blessing aren't available. However, her kit provides the means to keep the enemy at bay while inflicting huge amounts of Damage.

Her mark provides great bonuses to Critical and Mobility. Builds requiring movement speed and critical Damage will benefit greatly from it.

She scales with Damage (Main Weapon), Penetration (Main Weapon), Movement Speed, and Crit Chance. Meaning that her builds can be quite open as her only pure synergy lies with Crit Chance which allows her to build without much penalties.

Cleric


The Cleric is a debuff specialized hero. He possesses the highest base damage in the game, however that damage is divided by the amount of enemies he hits and since he has a formidable range for a melee class, you must avoid extending his base Area/Range as it will be detrimental in the end due to the aforementioned reason.

He starts up quite squishy and slow, for that reason one need to be careful not to get overwhelmed in the early stages of the run until enough stat bonuses are acquired for him to start rolling and alleviate the damage distribution.

Lastly, he has the best regeneration rate/bonuses in the game, which allows him to sustain huge amounts of abuse before dying. Making it possible to build him nigh unkillable with proper defense/block bonuses as he lacks defense stats early in the run.

He scales with Health Regeneration, Effect on Hit, and Magic. Making him a good candidate for Debuff/Tanky/Magic builds.

Exterminator


Exterminator is one of the game's Elemental heroes. He specializes in Fire/Burn. His main weapon, the Flame Caster is a mid-range/low DMG projectile attack with the highest attack speed in the game. At first glance, it can seem to be the weakest Main Weapon in the game but where it really shine and is actually the purpose of it is to apply Fire's Static Effect (Burn).

Flame Caster is the best Main Weapon for Elemental builds, it is simply the most efficient/fastest weapon when applying stacks. At the latest stages of a run, it will be max-stacking almost instantly.

For players looking for Fire-based builds, his mark offers various bonuses for Fire type DMG and Status Effects (Burn). Decent amounts of defense and mobility stats.

He scales with Burn Damage and Defense, which limits him a little bit.

Warlock can be both glass cannon/sustaining classes. His kit offers stats to make him tanky or simply exchange your Survivability for more raw DMG. He also offers the best mark for summon-based builds.

When building the Warlock, I'd suggest some early Survivability to endure the early minutes of the run, especially on the latest halls. This will prove true for those starting out as the lack of proper equipment/blessings and the Warlock's early squishiness can prove difficult for some to handle. But as everything in the game. Once you get access to exp boosts, blessing, and gear, the difficulty lowers significantly.

Once he gets a few level ups and starts going, he can easily become an unstoppable force.

Building around Sorceress is pretty straightforward. She excels at mobility and Lightning. Her Main Weapon (Chain Lightning) acts like a web, once it strikes an enemy it bounces for the next one within proximity a certain amount of times. The traits to focus on when using Sorceress is Multistrike to increase the number of streaks per attack and Force to increase the number of bounces from enemy to enemy, per attack. One last thing to point out, always be mindful of not attacking too close to enemies as her attacks can become quite inconsistent and tend to whiff, as a result.

Considering how limited Lightning ability selection is at the moment, she lacks variety when it comes to building her. While there are many ways to build her, she will ultimately feel and play the same. Full Crit/Spark as that's what her kit is meant for.

She scales with Lightning-based stats and Multistrike; something to keep in mind when selecting abilities and gear.

Beast Huntress is a physical hybrid ranged summoner hero. Her attacks consist of her ranged Main Weapon to keep danger at bay.

In the meantime, her companion, the Hound (Good Boy) is a close range summon which will protect the Huntress from any nearby enemy, at all times. He hits hard, quite useful for when you need to dispatch the closest problematic enemy.

She scales with DMG and Physical which allows her to build in perfect harmony with a very wide physical-based selection.

She can be challenging at the beginning due to her main attack's very slow speed but the Hound makes up for it with his MS and DMG. Getting used to him is important as the Huntress' gameplay relies on both, good positioning, awareness, and strategy.

The Norseman is a short-range melee fighter class that can be unfun for some due to his lack of DMG and range during the beginning of the run, however, like the rest of the heroes, once he gets going he becomes a speeding train of pain.

He scales with Health, Regen, Mobility, Defense and thanks to it, he can be built as a durable and mobile Juggernaut.

He synergies with Melee, Ice, and Frost which make it a good fit for Frosty builds.

He is an excellent choice for Scar of Toil builds due to the amount of health points he amasses during runs.

For the moment, I would strictly build him as a stacker, prioritizing elemental builds over full crit ones as his attack and movement speed are excellent for stacking while his base damage is quite low to make an impact during full crit builds.

Landsknecht is highly projectile-focused class that can easily inflict large amounts of DMG.

She synergies excellently with projectile-based abilities and stats. For that reason I highly recommend always going with Phantom Needles or Transfixion as your primary ability.

Her secondary weapon are grenades which have a 3 seconds cooldown before being thrown, with that being said, during those 3 seconds, all damage dealt from Projectile attacks, will be accumulated and released after, enhancing her grenades' damage.

She can be built in various ways and while all builds can be slightly different, they all share one common trait, they pack a punch.

And both hit hard!

The ultimate definition of Glass Cannon. The Sage is probably the most challenging hero to play during the early stages of a run due to his low mobility and low defense stats.

However, once he gets a couple of level ups, he starts to steamroll until he becomes the Ultimate Lifeform. Simply put, nothing is more Epic than a late game Sage.

@Moldredd Hi :) In the Noreman guide i can see you advise to get Proficient Stance: Hellfire. Is it possible? I think you can only get those cold-focused?

Thank you again about the typos regarding the memory potion usages on Sage's Experience Hoard build. They have been corrected now.

Also my apologies regarding the Guiding Star information, the Duality was meant to specify which uncommon variant to pick for the Holy Relic ring. Sorry for any confusion it may have caused.

About the Guiding Star itself, As of date, I left it open for the reader's preference when it comes to the variant to use. That's why it is currently without any uncommon variant specified.

Hope this clears any confusion it might have caused.

@Moldredd Sorry to bother you again, but I just noticed another couple typos in the Sage section. On the Cluster**** build, it says "Guiding Star/Holy Relic (Duality)" but there is no variant of Guiding Star that has a Duality tag, so which variant is supposed to be chosen? Also, you put "MP" instead of what I believe was supposed to be "PM" in the Dedication chart for the Experience Hoard build. Confused me for a second thinking there was some new potion. Thank you for fixing the Fighter's Headband issue btw. :)

@Moldredd Hey, just fyi. The Fighter's Headband variant listed on the Sage Experience Hoard build says "Prepared" but the only two that I see listed in-game are "Potions" and "Regeneration". Might want to update that real quick.

@Spaghadeity, I'm referring to Warlock's. I tend to write them in bold to help specify which one is picked when using hybrid marks.

Normal text for the one provided by the mark, bold text for the character's native.

@Der Falscher, correct, in order to be able to pick both traits from a same level/tree, one must be locked with a memory potion before selecting the other. Otherwise, it is lost forever once the other is picked.

That's when memory potions come into play.
