Faramore Town
ITEMS

Dungeon Key: Free
Head to the tavern and talk to Arven, the Barkeep. He tells you he knows how to build the “ultimate weapon” but lacks the materials to do so. He gives you this key hoping you’ll be able to go through the dungeons it opens and claim one of the ingredients.

Rudy Challenge 1: Bomb
Collect at least 1 Hidden Coin and bomb the wall on the far bottom-right of the town, then talk to Rudy.

Citizenship Pass: Talk to Cypress in Durridin Forest
Once you’ve talked to Cypress, you can talk to Mayor Covenplate near the well and politely ask for a Citizenship Pass.

Rope Upgrade: Munhum, Beacon 2, 4 Rocks
After talking to Munhum in Cogwyn Caves and lighting the beacon in Anju Desert, you’ll find him sitting outside the blacksmith’s. He says he needs 4 rocks, each a different color (Blue, Brown, Gray, Orange). Bring them to him and he’ll increase the maximum amount of Rope you can carry to 99.

Canteen: Star Earring
In the tavern, you can find Brinda musing about her lost husband and the jewelry he promised her. Bringing her the Star Earrings rewards you with the Canteen.

Wallet Upgrade: Filch, Silver Cricket
After giving Filch the Golden Fly, you can find him sitting outside the tavern. Give him the Silver Cricket and he’ll upgrade your wallet, from a maximum of 500 rubies to 999 rubies.

Price Reduction: Wallet Upgrade, Buy all 3 of Mortar’s Scrolls (1749 rubies total)
In Mortar’s Shop, you’ll see he has some of his music for sale. You won’t be able to buy them all at once, however. The first scroll is 250 rubies, the second is 500 rubies (the default maximum amount you can carry), and the third is 999 rubies (requiring the wallet upgrade from Filch). After buying the third scroll, everything in Mortar’s shop costs 50% less.

Rudy Challenge 2: Rudy Challenge 1
Collect at least 5 Hidden Coins and talk to Rudy.

Lantern Upgrade: Give Cypress 3 House Plants
In the house next to the library, you’ll find Cypress bemoaning his drab living space. He asks you to find 3 House Plants to spruce up his abode. Bring him the plants and he’ll upgrade the maximum amount of Lamp Oil you can carry to 99.

Bomb Upgrade: Beacon 4, Compass
Once you’ve lit the beacon in Badonc Beach, Barnabuss will be standing on the second floor of the ramparts looking for his lost compass. Bring him the compass and he’ll upgrade the maximum amount of Bombs you can carry to 99.

Power Stone Upgrade: Bomb Glove, Town Bell
After you find the Bomb Glove, Lord Kari will be standing on the second floor of the ramparts looking for the Town Bell. Bring him the bell and he’ll upgrade the maximum amount of Power Stones you can carry to 99.

Beach Calendar: Defeat Duke Nodelki
In the library, you can find Count Denny, fuming over the loss of his castle to Duke Nodelki. Once you give Duke the boot, talk to Denny and he’ll give you the Beach Calendar as a gift.

Purple Magic: Talk to Yukeen after collecting all 5 Jewel Shards
Once you have all five shards of the Jewel of Faramore, go to the blacksmith’s and talk to Yukeen. You’ll find out you only needed one shard for your sword, but Boru chimes in and says he has a use for the rest. One shard is used on your sword, while the other four are used to grant you the power of Purple Magic.

Help Dewey: Rope Ladder
You can give Dewey the Rope Ladder to help him down. He gives you 200 rubies as thanks.

Rudy Challenge 3: Rudy Challenge 2
Collect at least 10 Hidden Coins, complete all other sidequests, and talk to Rudy.

Infinite Soulfire: After completing Rudy’s time trial in Lichen Hills, talk to him in his rat hole. He will give you Infinite Soulfire as the ultimate badge of merit.

Bonus Room: Griffin Boots
Double-jump behind the Blue Magic wall and enter the bakery, it’s right above the entrance.

Candle 1: Griffin Boots
In the house next to the bakery, duckwalk through the chandelier.

Candle 2: Griffin Boots
In Cypress’ house, it can be reached by standing on the right edge of the platform blocked by Blue Magic and doing a mid-air jump.

Hidden Coin: Purple Magic
In the library, right next to Dewey.
Durridin Forest
ITEMS

Sword Wave: Free
Go to the edge of the branch where you found the hidden coin. Jump right to find a walkable path through the canopy of trees, ending just under the path normally blocked by Blue Magic. Climb the stump and enter from here. The way forward is dark, but perfectly navigable.

Cypress: Free
Once you exit the big tree hollow, you’ll find a wolf-man milling about. Swiping your sword reveals he’s actually friendly and wants to move into Faramore Town. However, Mayor Covenplate thinks he’s a monster and refuses. He kindly asks you to help change the Mayor’s mind.

Golden Fly: Bomb, Red Magic
Soon after the checkpoint, there’s a large cracked rock. Bombing the top reveals a hidden room, with two Red Magic walls. Breaking these (with either the Smart Gun or Sword Wave) allows you to claim the Golden Fly.

Lantern: Citizenship Pass
After talking to Mayor Covenplate and obtaining the citizenship pass, go back and talk to Cypress. As thanks for putting a roof over his head, he gives you the Lantern.

Magic Chainmail: Jewel Shard 1, Bomb Glove, 3 Candles
After defeating Klive, walk rightward and you’ll find a Gray Magic wall. This can be destroyed with a strike from the Bomb Glove. Beyond that is a 3-Candle barrier. Dispel it and equip the Magic Chainmail.

Bonus Room: Free
In the big tree hollow, you’ll find the Bonus Room out in the open.

Candle 1: Red Magic
A little ways after the Bonus Room, you’ll find the first Sacred Candle behind a Red Magic wall.

Candle 2: Griffin Boots
In the area where you met Cypress, there’s a Candle on the ledge above the hollow entrance.

Hidden Coin: Free
In the small tree hollow just before the checkpoint flag, duckwalk in the bottom corner to find a secret path. Another secret path is accessible from the ladder within, and duckwalking through it leads you to the Hidden Coin.

Beacon 1: Free
This beacon is found just before the exit scroll. Lighting this beacon unlocks Cogwyn Caves, Anju Desert, and Creeche Canyon.

Jewel Shard 1: 1 Candle, Defeat Klive
At the end of the level is a 1-Candle barrier. Dispelling it allows you to fight Klive. He hits like a truck, but can't hit you on the ladders. Normally, the best way to damage him is by knocking the acorns in-between the ladders down upon his head. However, he is particularly weak to the Sword Wave's projectile, so you can combine the two and flatten him. Once he's dealt with, the Jewel Shard is yours.
Cogwyn Caves
One Bomb is required to progress.

ITEMS

Munhum: Free
At the start there’s a guy smoking a pipe. Talk to him and he’ll explain how to open the cave, then give you three lengths of rope. Talking to him lets him appear in Faramore town.

Shield Ring: Free
This can be found right at the end, just before the left exit.

Silver Cricket: Blue Magic
Breaking the Blue Magic wall before the dark segment reveals a small grotto with a Silver Cricket and a Purple Magic wall.

Snail Salt: Funky Fungus
Next to the right exit is a snail by the name of Ellido, who is hungry for “something funky”. Bringing him the Funky Fungus nets you the Snail Salt.

Rope Ladder: Purple Magic
Breaking the Purple Magic wall in the Silver Cricket grotto opens a shortcut that contains a Rope Ladder.

Bonus Room: Free
Right off the beaten path, near the end of the second dark room.

Candle 1: Red Magic
In the first dark room, rightward of the intended path. Break the Red Magic Wall and do some platforming.

Candle 2: Free
In the second dark room, stick to the high ground and jump onto the tiny platforms at the end. The Lantern helps here.

Hidden Coin: Free
In the first dark room, in the first wide pit. Near the bottom there’s a tunnel you can duckwalk through.

Other: Orange Rock
Anju Desert
One Bomb and Red Magic are required to progress.

ITEMS

Fairy Dust: Free
In the Oasis, there are two switches atop the palm trees. Activating them frees a fairy, who rewards you with some healing and a bottle of Fairy Dust.

Compass: Talk to Barnabuss in Faramore Town
Once you’ve talked to Barnabuss in Faramore Town, you’ll be able to find his compass in the same room as the first Sacred Candle.

Life-Up: Red Magic, 1 Candle
Near the end, there’s a Red Magic wall peeking out the left side of the U-shaped tomb. Break it to reveal a chamber with a Life-Up behind a 1-Candle barrier. Dispel the barrier and the Life-Up’s yours.

Bonus Room: Free
In the first tomb, behind a few enemies.

Candle 1: Free
In the first tomb, hold right when you fall in and you’ll land on a secret ledge. Jump through the spikes and the Sacred Candle’s yours.

Candle 2: Blue Magic
Opposite of the Life-Up is a Sacred Candle behind a Blue Magic wall. Break the wall to grab the candle.

Hidden Coin: Free
In the second spike pit at the start, duckwalk left on the bottommost platform.

Beacon 2: Red Magic
The beacon is blocked by a red magic wall. You could get the Smart Gun from Creeche Canyon, or use the Sword Wave from Durridin Forest. Lighting this beacon unlocks Norin Swamp, Chillnax Peaks, and Boanjale Crypts.
Creeche Canyon
A Bomb is required to progress.

ITEMS

Smart Gun: Fairy Dust
At the end of the level is a house with two inventors. Giving the Fairy Dust to Motte (the old lady at the bottom) allows her to finish her newest creation, the Smart Gun.

Star Earrings: Red Magic
On the second floor of this house is Odie. Breaking the Red Magic wall and looking through his telescope rewards you with the Star Earrings.

Backstep: Jewel Shard 2
After defeating Cornrad, climb the ladder to the right and talk to Crowdee up top. As thanks for helping him be brave, he teaches you the Backdash.

Bonus Room: Red Magic
Right by the start of the level, you can’t miss it.

Candle 1: Griffin Boots
Behind the cave entrance in Room 1.

Candle 2: Blue Magic
Behind Odie in the inventor’s house.

Hidden Coin: Free
After you take the zipline down, head to the bottom of the platform rock formation and duckwalk rightward in the corner to find a secret path. Jump over the spikes and claim the coin.

Jewel Shard 2: 2 Candles
In the dark cave, there’s a 2-Candle barrier. Dispel the barrier, continue down its path, and fight Cornrad. He can only hurt you with his corn projectiles, so use the Shield Ring to block them and wail on him while he’s open. I like to save him for after I’ve gotten the Smart Chainsword (since Sword Wave means I can skip the Smart Gun) and 3-shot him. Once he's dealt with, the Jewel Shard is yours.

A Bomb is required to progress.

ITEMS

Filch: Golden Fly
When you first enter the level, a fancily-dressed frog named Filch blocks you way forward until he has a meal befitting someone of his stature. If you have the Golden Fly, he’ll happily move out of your way once you let him eat it.

Ogre Hair: Cleaver Shovel
About halfway through Room 3, an ogre named Glubbert is tending to her garden. Unfortunately, her shovel is broken and she can’t find a replacement. Give her the Cleaver Shovel from Ryha River and she’ll give you one of her hairs as thanks.

Griffin Boots: Free
Not too far from Glubbert is a house whose door is locked. Normally, entering requires finding a key behind a blue magic barrier. However, you can just run off the side of the house's platform and immediately double back mid-air to find another secret passage inside. The Griffin Boots are yours for the taking from there.

House Plant 1: Talk to Cypress in Faramore Town
This can be found in the same house as the Griffin Boots, on a barrel.

Bonus Room: Griffin Boots
In the house where you got the Griffin Boots, conveniently only reachable by double-jump.

Candle 1: Griffin Boots
In Room 1, climb up the front of the house Filch was guarding, and jump across the platforms at the top of the screen to grab the Sacred Candle just above where you spawn.

Candle 2: Griffin Boots
Right as you enter Room 3, there’s another candle you can only reach with a double jump.

Hidden Coin: Free
In the house Filch was guarding, duckwalk under the staircase by the entrance for the Hidden Coin.

Beacon 3: Free
At the far end of Room 3, bomb the righmost wall. Lighting the beacon unlocks Sprigum Volcano, Badonc Beach, and Ryha River.
Chillnax Peaks
ITEMS

Power Pendant: Crystal of Refraction
At the summit lies the domain of Ciclena, a sorceress with an icy demeanor. Give her the Crystal of Refraction, she’s sure to drop the cold shoulder and give you the Power Pendant.

COLLECTIBLES

Bonus Room: Free
After you exit the first cave, walk left until you find the Bonus Room at the ledge.

Candle 1: Blue Magic
In the first cave, there’s a secret passage denoted by a lantern’s glow. Break the Blue Magic wall at the end to claim the first Sacred Candle.

Candle 2: Griffin Boots
Inside Ciclena’s domain, reachable with a double-jump.

Hidden Coin: Purple Magic
Behind the Purple Magic wall in the second cave.

Jewel Shard 3: 3 Candles
Just past Ciclena’s is a 3-Candle barrier. Dispel it and fight Apatu. When you’re moving, she’ll only be able to charge at you from the direction opposite of where you’re moving to. Bombs are the most effective option, though you’ll have to be precise with your shots and budget appropriately. Once she's dealt with, the Jewel Shard is yours.

A Bomb and the Power Pendant are required to progress.

ITEMS

Bomb Glove: Bomb
At the end of the level, there’s a house blocked off by a stone wall. Bomb it down and talk to the house’s occupant, a dancing draugr by the name of Skelvis. He gives you the Bomb Glove after being impressed by your combat skills.

Town Bell: Talk to Lord Kari in Faramore Town
Can be found in the same place as the Life-Up, just on the lower path.

Life-Up: Bomb, 2 Candles
At the start of the level, there’s a sparkly headstone that can be bombed open. Go through the newly-revealed entrance and you’ll find a tomb with a 2-Candle barrier. Dispel it and claim the second Life-Up.

Bonus Room: Free
In the big mausoleum, go to the bottom-left and keep walking to find the Bonus Room behind a false wall.

Candle 1: Griffin Boots
Just above the mausoleum’s exit.

Candle 2: Blue Magic
In Skelvis’ house, behind the Blue Magic wall.

Hidden Coin: Fatal Flute
In Room 3, you can find some Green Magic blocks embedded in the floor. Play the Fatal Flute to break them and claim the Hidden Coin beneath.
Sprigum Volcano
ITEMS

Crystal of Refraction: Free
Can be found at the bottom of the volcano, right next to the exit.

COLLECTIBLES

Bonus Room: Bomb Glove
At the entrance, jump over the mouth of the volcano and smash the Gray Magic wall to enter.

Candle 1: Free
Hit all the switches in the first room of the volcano to access the first Sacred Candle.

Candle 2: Free
Try and hang around the middle of the volcano’s third room, the second Sacred Candle’s in the box above the exit.

Hidden Coin: Griffin Boots
In the room with the rising lava, you can reach the Hidden Coin with a double-jump from the top once you start the drain.
Badonc Beach
Blue Magic and the Griffin Boots are required to progress.

ITEMS

Fatal Flute: Bomb
In the Grotto before the Beacon, bomb the sparkling wall to the right and duckwalk through the gap. The Fatal Flute is sitting out in the open.

Speed Shoes: Enchanted Boots
In the second stretch of beach, you can find a blue streak named Fleetus speeding by. Talk to him and he’ll tell you about how the hot sand keeps him running faster. Give him a pair of Enchanted Boots and he’ll reward you with the Speed Shoes.

Magic Cloak: Beach Calendar
In the house right afterwards, you’ll find an old man named Tork who needs help keeping track of his remaining time. He’s all too glad to receive the Beach Calendar, and gives you the Magic Cloak for your troubles.

House Plant 2: Talk to Cypress in Faramore Town
In Tork’s house, on the opposite side of the room.

Bonus Room: Free
In Tork’s house, upstairs

Candle 1: Griffin Boots
On top of Tork’s house.

Candle 2: Fatal Flute
On the opposite side of the grotto where you found the Fatal Flute, you’ll find the second Sacred Candle blocked by a Green Magic wall. Play the flute to break through

Hidden Coin: Blue Magic, Griffin Boots
In the first room, go to where you found the key and keep jumping across. At the end, break the Blue Magic wall and claim the Hidden Coin.

Beacon: Free
Take the rightmost exit in the grotto and keep going right. Lighting the beacon unlocks Lichen Hills and Fort Findula.

Other: Blue Rock
Ryha River
A Bomb is required to progress.

Inside the submarine, In the very last cabin.

Cleaver Shovel: Snail Salt
At the start of the level is a house owned by Francine, who's looking to make her fish taste a little better. Make her try the salt and she’ll reward you with her cleaver. Some quick craftsmanship turns this into a cleaver shovel.

Refined Chains: Ogre Hair
Right at the end, you'll find a crone named Morgh, who needs one last ingredient for her soup: Ogre Hair. Bring her the goods and she’ll give you the Refined Chains, along with another jar of Sacred Oil.

Life-Up: 2 Candles
Behind the crone’s hut is a 2-candle barrier. Dispel it for the third and final Life-Up.

Bonus Room: Griffin Boots
Right above Francine.

Candle 1: Free
In the first room, go to the boat and try to walk down the stairs. You’ll go inside and find the first Sacred Candle (along with Barnabuss if you haven’t lit beacon 4 yet).

Candle 2: Griffin Boots
On top of Morgh's hut.

Hidden Coin: Purple Magic
In the submarine, just before where you found Blue Magic.
Lichen Hills
A Bomb and the Fatal Flute are required to progress.

ITEMS

Lighting Sword Magic: Bomb
In the first room, bomb the sparkly ledge under the blue silo. Crawl inside and hit the switches to claim Lightning Sword Magic.

Double Wave: Sword Wave
Go all the way right in Room 3 and bomb the sparkly wall to uncover an alter. Play the Fatal Flute here to summon a key that opens the shack on the lower half of Room 3. Once inside, you'll find Milbert down in the dumps. Show him your Sword Wave and he’ll perk up, teaching you the Double Sword Wave with glee.

House Plant 3: Talk to Cypress in Faramore Town
In the shack, opposite of Milbert.

Bonus Room: Free
In Room 3, on the top path right above the shack.

Candle 1: Bomb
In a secret tunnel halfway up the ladder in the room where you get the Lightning Sword Power.

Candle 2: Griffin Boots
Atop the altar where you play the Fatal Flute.

Hidden Coin: Purple Magic
A little over halfway through the silo, you’ll find the Hidden Coin surrounded by Purple Magic blocks. Break the blocks and nab the coin.

Beacon 4: Free
In the shack, above Milbert. Lighting the beacon unlocks Denny’s Castle and Daimur’s Lair.
Fort Findula
The Power Pendant is required to progress.

ITEMS

Sacred Oil: Dungeon Key
Right at the entrance, there’s a door that can only be unlocked with the Dungeon Key. Opening it reveals a gauntlet of foes you must fight before progressing. Beating them all nets you the Sacred Oil.

Enchanted Boots: Fatal Flute
In the transition point between both halves of Room 1, The enchanted boots lay surrounded by Green Magic blocks. Play the Fatal Flute to break the blocks and grab the boots.

Reflecting Ring: Griffin Boots, Bomb Glove
In the big room at the end, the Reflecting Ring is tucked in the top corner surrounded by Gray Magic blocks. Break them with the Bomb Glove and double-jump up to the ring.

COLLECTIBLES

Bonus Room: Griffin Boots, Jewel Shard 4
Just above Beeves’ arena is a ledge with the Bonus Room.

Candle 1: Free
In the dark room accessible from Room 1. You could go the long way or double-jump to the end.

Candle 2: Free
Near the entrance of Room 2, duckwalk into the corner of the wall to the right to find a secret passage and the second Sacred Candle.

Hidden Coin: Free
Near the entrance of Room 3, duckwalk into the corner of the wall to the right to find a secret passage and the Hidden Coin.

Jewel Shard 4: 3 Candles, Defeat Beeves
At the end, there’s a 3-Candle barrier. Dispel the barrier and traverse the steps to fight Beeves. He teleports between both sides of the arena peppering you with fireballs and forcing you to repeatedly walk under falling rocks. If you have the Reflecting Ring, you can just sit in place and keep the shield up, watching his health slowly whittle away. Once he's dealt with, the Jewel Shard is yours.

Denny's Castle
A Bomb (or the Bomb Glove) and the Power Pendant are required to progress.

ITEMS

Winged Belt: Griffin Boots, Fatal Flute, 3 Candles
At the boss door, double-jump across the spike-trapped platforms to find the Winged Belt behind a Green Magic wall. Play the Fatal Flute and don the belt.

COLLECTIBLES

Bonus Room: Purple Magic
On the left path, unlock the door in the bottom-left of the dark room to access the courtyard seen when you entered. Go right, it’s behind the Purple Magic wall.

Candle 1: Blue Magic
On the right path, go to the top-left and break the Blue Magic wall. You’ll have to duckwalk through the tunnel, so be careful about the spikes on the other side.

Candle 2: Bomb
In the final room, bomb the sparkly rock on the left side of the staircase and duckwalk through the tunnel to claim the second Sacred Candle. This also lets you bypass the Gray Magic wall if you came from the right.

Hidden Coin: Free
In the final room, there’s a faint glow on the flat zone of the left staircase. Press down to descend the secret ladder and claim the hidden coin.

Jewel Shard: 3 Candles, Defeat Duke Nodelki
At the end of the level, there’s a 3-Candle barrier. Dispel the barrier and go through the door it blocked to fight Duke Nodelki. He’s a slippery fellow, running around lobbing fireballs and rarely getting close enough to hit with your sword. Either hit him with the Smart Gun/Sword Wave or reflect his attacks back at him. Once he's dealt with, the Jewel Shard is yours.
Daimur's Lair
The Power Pendant and Purple Magic are required to progress.

ITEMS

Funky Fungus: Sacred Oil
To the right of the small lava pit at the entrance, you’ll find Zazie. She’s quite thirsty, and only the crisp, refreshing taste of oil will satiate her. Give her the Sacred Oil, and she’ll give you the Funky Fungus to snack on.

Soul Upgrade: 250 Souls
If you talk to her again, she’ll ask for 250 monster souls, as long as you don’t ask what she needs them for. Bring her the souls and she’ll upgrade the maximum amount of Soulfire you can carry to 500.

Bonus Room: Griffin Boots
At the far end of the first room (beyond the Purple Magic wall), you’ll find the Bonus Room tucked away in the top-right corner

Candle 1: Bomb
Right behind the bombable wall at the start.

Candle 2: Griffin Boots, Fatal Flute
Once you’ve found the first Sacred Candle, climb up the tree and play the Fatal Flute to break the Green Magic wall. The second Sacred Candle is yours.

Hidden Coin: Purple Magic
In the lava pool after the dark room, you can find a turtle swimming around. Riding him under the brick wall reveals a secret alcove with the Hidden Coin.
