Intro/Credits
The idea of the ISOCON originally came about after PyroFuzz built a ship with a detachable module, and then kessler1036 suggested that it be a standardized container we use within our faction. There weren't terribly many adjustments besides making all the dimensions odd and symmetrical, and it was finished after a little input from the SR community.

The name was initially just a joke, "Interstellar Standards Organization Container" and a play on real life ISO containers - but it didn't take long for the portmanteau to stick.

ISOCONs have seen consistent use in the Sojourn Rim community, being used by players for logistics & GMs for rewards and objectives. There are some variants that are fixed weapon mounts, or even a full corvette crammed into a legal container.

Basic Design & Dimensions
ISOCONs have exterior dimensions of 5x5x13 width/height and length respectively.
The interior dimensions are 3x3x11 width/height and length respectively.

The merge blocks and connector layout allows for infinite stacking laterally and vertically. The button panels control nearby mergeblocks and connectors without groups, allowing multiple containers to have individual connection controls without having control groups merge; you can precisely choose which containers to detach no matter how many are connected.

Requirements
The center yellow connection ring, consisting of the mergeblocks, connectors, slopes, and button panels must be present in its entirety on all ISOCONs. The yellow hazard paint and the green light indicating up and forward is not mandatory but highly recommended. Containers must also have a battery in order for their controls to function when disconnected.

The exterior dimensions must be 5x5x13. All non connection ring blocks must not be able to connect to adjacent blocks excluding those of the container itself; it cannot be capable of merging to adjacent containers or grids except through the connection ring.

It is highly recommended that the exterior be made of half blocks, as the button panels, mergeblocks, and connectors must all be physically reachable from the exterior when the container is fully surrounded by full blocks on all but one side.

ISOCONs must have all four connectors properly conveyored. Exception containers must have some sort of brightly marked non-connecting block in place of the connectors, so that it can be known and loaded on the exterior of stacks.

The button panels on the sides must control the mergeblocks and connectors on that side. Their configuration must be as follows
1: Mergeblock 1 Toggle
2: Mergeblock 2 Toggle
3: Connector Switch Lock
4: Connector Toggle

All connectors on ISOCONs must be set to not use parking. They must also have zero magnetic strength.

Slightly different variant - has additional front connectors, two parachute sleeves and one pair of batteries.

Seems like a good standard to me!

Good enough idea.
Add four mergeblock and connector on both front walls, small solar panels, batteries, lights, text and image-symbol screens as decoration, control panels, parachute containers on the top side...

Developing the idea can be production blocks in containers - refinery, assembler, O2/H2 generator...
