KX: Musterkolonie (a Colonial Submod)

Description
NOTE: YOU MUST PLAY THIS WITH KAISERREDUX. IT IS A SUBMOD, NOT A FORK. PLEASE PLACE THIS SUBMOD AFTER KAISERREDUX IN THE LOAD ORDER.

YOU CAN HAVE IT ACTIVE EVEN IF YOU DO NOT PLAY AS A RELEVANT NATION.

A KR PORT WILL COME SOON™ - THANK YOU FOR 5K SUBSCRIBERS!

"Colonial rule must be contextualized: with regard to internal political development, it was in many respects co-opted into ongoing African processes of change, while in terms of external economy it represented only the latest stage of a system which had been a long time in the making. What came after it – the era of the “post-colony” and the “new” international order – must be understood in terms of what preceded it.

What is certainly clear is that colonial rule was in many ways as African as it was European, and cannot be understood as some great unilateral imposition: Africans shaped their own societies in the age of foreign rule much more effectively than any colonial official or European government could."
- Professor Richard J. Reid, A History of Modern Africa. 1800 to the Present.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This submod aims to expand the content of the overseas colonies in Kaiserredux, to give flavour to the more ignored areas of the world . Perhaps, if I am lucky, it will make Africa and the tropics feel like less of a void of content, to be ignored by the average player. Perhaps you too can learn to love this underappreciated area of history.

This mod adds over a thousand events to nations old and new, and brings around twenty new focus trees into the game. It is designed to turn Mittelafrika and other overseas colonies from absurdly stable ahistorical monoliths into a collection of fractious nations-in-waiting, seething with nationalist fervour and poised to overthrow their rulers. A number of new tags have been added, not to mention new focus trees, icons, and events.

Musterkolonie, the 'Model Colony' adds content to the following tags:
- Mittelafrika
- Ostasien
- Uganda
- Kenya
- Sudan
- Ruanda-Urundi
- Zanzibar
- British South Africa Company/Northern Rhodesia (New)
- Congo
- Katanga
- Orientale (New)
- Kasai (New)
- Ubangi-Tschad
- Kamerun/Adamawa Clique
- Nigeria
- Mittelkongo/Kongo Kingdom
- Sudwestafrika
- Nyasaland/Malawi
- Dahomey/Benin
- Elfenbeinküste/Ivory Coast
- Gold Coast/Ghana
- Sierra Leone and Gambia
- Madagaskar
- Portuguese Ultramar (New)
- Portugal
- Djibouti/Deutsch-Westasien
- Spanish Africa (New)
- Tekeland
- Ethiopia
- Liberia
- Morocco
- Sarawak
- Malaya
- Philippines
- Minor additions to Yemen, Oman, Egypt and several other nations. Many nations will receive relevant flavour events, such as the major countries, National France, Spain, Chinese tags, Papal States, Poland etc.

Compatibility: Works alongside most mods and submods that don't mess with relevant states e.g. Rising Dragon

Credits go to the Kaiserredux and Kaiserreich teams, the HoI4 Modding Coop, /vst/ and all those that enjoy modding this game.

Note: If you can't handle the paternalist mindset of 1930's colonial officials you probably should not be playing this mod.

@John Ouique - I believe it's a glitch with a missing vanilla texture. I'll fix in the next update.

just tested it without the tool pack and better mechanics, and it still happens. I fail to understand how a map mod and modifier icons could mess this up.

Hi, i was playing as Goering, and when i unlocked the sovereign state path and switched to natpop, his portrait changed to a random dude, same thing with his marshal icon. There weren't any other submods in my playset that were adding other ideologies or portraits, just the TNO map mod, modifier icons, tool pack without the errors and better mechanics : officer corps. Is there a known incompatibility with these mods ?

@atka - Probably Kenya.

@Dickload - you're welcome. I added over 70 flavour events and a new focus branch focusing on the Pacific, and the option for Ostasien to collapse entirely. I was always disgruntled with how KR/KX treated the German colonies in the Pacific as if they didn't exist when Samoa was of massive sentimental importance to the Reich.

thank you for ostasien content

Do you have a favourite focus tree in your submod?

@gab.spangsege - The peace out means you didn't defeat them before the timer ran out - it's in the decisions. I definitely need to add an event though to make that clearer so thanks. It was 120 days but I've upped it to 180 days. The random AOG annexing is actually vanilla KX - I should give you the option to refuse it though. No idea why Fritz vanished - nothing in my code touches him!

@SusanTookTheKids - Tekeland is mostly skeleton content besides a focus tree and some events. It's probably the least substantive tag in KX Africa besides Bornu or Hausaland. There is more to come on it though.
gab.spangsege 7 Jul @ 11:23am
also randomly lost the general fritz sachse
gab.spangsege 7 Jul @ 11:17am
also the A.O.G just randomly annexs your chinese ports, without any event about it
gab.spangsege 7 Jul @ 8:29am
why do i randomly get peaced out with the melanesian workers republic as deutsch-ostasien?
