Roberta, by RattleBonesMcDunn, is their own modded character created for the RKC event, but also has their own lore.

Roberta's play style revolves around 2 mechanics: her knives and her Corruption Meter.

Each of her knives are tied to one of her specials, so upon firing or using that knife that special will become unavailable until the knife is off cooldown or back in your inventory. The special that knife is attached to is listed when hovering over the knife in the knife selection.

She has 4 ways to interact with her knives.

• Use the special Fire to fire out a knife of your choice. Trajectory can be manipulated with DI wheel.
  
• Use the special Ignition to trigger the selected knife's special effect, which can also be manipulated with DI wheel. Knife has to be out on the field to be triggered, otherwise this special functions as their taunt. When a knife is activated, there is a cooldown window before the knife can be fired again.
  
• Hitting a knife with an attack with a red border, which will fire the knife again (again, trajectory can be manipulated with DI wheel).
  
• Using the super Seal: Release , which has a special effect depending on which knife Roberta uses. The knife you selects has to be usable but not on the field, and after using this super that knife will be on cooldown.
  
• Using the super Faithful Prayer, which immediately recovers all knives on the map back into your inventory.

This is Roberta's primary mechanic, as this gives them access to various supers depending on the amount of Corruption Roberta has. Be warned, each seal will take 1000 health. If Roberta is below 500 health, she won't take any damage from the seals.

Corruption has a max value of 4000, and Roberta gains it at a rate of 1 tick per knife, with a max of 5 per tick. Each seal reduces current Corruption by 15%.

There are 2 additional ways of gaining Corruption: using special attacks (except Fire) will increase Corruption by 3% (it does not need to hit), and using Seal: Release, which gives 9% (also does not need to hit).

Unlockable supers through Corruption:

• Faithful Prayer: A 1 level super that resets corruption and heals based off of current corruption. Is usable at any amount of corruption.
  
• Absolution: A 5 level super attack that resets Corruption to 0, is usable at 1200 Corruption. Damage dealt is based on Corruption.
  
• Give In... A level 5 super only usable at max corruption. Covered in it's own section.

Roberta also has sweet spots and sour spots on her attacks. As a general rule of thumb, for her non-install attacks, her sweetspots are hitting the attack as fast as allowed, with sour spots showing if the attack is delayed and hits later than normal. Sweet spots usually increase hitstun, damage, and plus frames on block, with sour spots doing the opposite.

For her install attacks, her sweet spots are more literal, either being in the middle of the attack or at the tip of the attack. She has no sour spots in install.

This will cover both the move Ignition and its alternate effects.

Cooldown for knives after Ignition is 49 frames.


This move triggers knives in flight for their special effects.

• Using this as a hustle is very good, at it is one of the fastest hustles in the game at 20 frames for 1 level of meter.
  
• Despite no free cancel and a 20 IASA, this move will always be ready on opponent's turn or in 20 frames.

Here we will go over the various effects that Ignition can trigger per knife. IASA is not included as it functions the same as Ignition. Cooldown for all knives after Ignition is 49 frames.


A large lasting hitbox is spawned at the location of the knife, inflicting massive hitstun.

• This knife is linked to the special attack Cleave.

Roberta spawns a sawblade that chases down the opponent.

• Damage is not a specific amount as amount of hits depends on opponent's DI.
  
• You can bounce the knife off of the ground to delay the hit for some fun ranged mixups.
  
• This knife is linked to the special attack Split.

Roberta teleports to her knife, which she then slashes the opponent with.

• Teleports frame 8.
  
• It has a lasting hitbox, so if you aim the knife right you can delay the hit so it can't be parried frame 11.
  
• This knife Is linked to the special attack Exsanguinate.

Roberta spawns a huge sword at the destination, hitting the opponent 3 times for massive hitstun.

• Huge hitstun only applies once per combo to prevent infinites.
  
• This knife is linked to the special attack Gouge.

Roberta spawns 5 knives that home in on the opponent.

• These function like regular projectiles and have a parry window.
  
• Each knife does 80 damage.
  
• This knife is linked to the special attack Eviscerate.

This will cover Roberta's grounded attacks.


Standard grab with 3 hits and grounds.

• Heart Breaker is the only attack that can hit after grab with good DI, but if they DI wrong on that attack you can continue combo.
  
• Has a dash toggle.

Standard frame 4 jab.

• Can be used to refire knives that have not fallen to the ground yet.

A flying kick.

• Can refire knives that have not hit the ground yet.

A stomp and punch.

• Is mainly used for refiring knives in the ground.
  
• Does not give any hitstun in neutral, but with enough hitstun in combo it gives +20.
  
• If the opponent is on the ground, this stomps the opponent multiple times.

A basic upper cut. Not a dp.

• Interestingly, does not send the opponent into the air if grounded already.

A low sweeping kick.

• Beats horizontal slash on Cowboy.

A long high kick that sends the opponent into the air.

• It has a horizontal slider, where at max value lets you shimmy grab.

A double hit guard break with guard breaks with minimal damage on first hit, then lets you hold for the stronger hit.

• You can cancel the second hit into something else.
  
• Has a horizontal slider.

While airborne, Roberta has access to the following ground attacks:

• Throw
  
• Shock
  
• Scythe

There are a few changes from their ground variants: Throw has significantly changed in the air, it is now a directionable hit that still acts like a grab hitbox, beating block. Shock is now frame 5 with an IASA of 18 and has no proration. Scythe is now frame 6 with an IASA of 24, it has no block advantage along with higher knockback.


A downwards slam with her firsts while airborne.

• Has higher hitstun the higher up Roberta, having none when close to the ground.

A flip into a grab, which then slams the opponent into the ground.

• Invuln frames 1-8.
  
• Beats grab and block. Also beats burst depending on the circumstances.

This will cover the various specials Roberta has, along with what knife they are linked to.


This fires 1 of 5 knives, selectable from a custom menu.

• The stats of the knives will be covered in their own sections.

A heavy upwards cleave with a knife.

• Is linked to the Knife of Destruction.
  
• Roberta's second guard break, which allows for a guard break mixup.

A long ranged slice, does not beat Cowboy's horizontal slash.

• Is linked to the Knife of Slashing.

A large series of slashes around Roberta, ending with a slice through your opponent.

• This is linked to the Knife of Duplication.
  
• This attack beats grab due to lifting Roberta into the air on start.

Roberta swings her knife in front of her, creating a slashing projectile at a selected destination.

• Is linked to the Knife of Warping.
  
• Variation in stats comes from using it at close range, in which the melee hitbox will hit them along with the ranged one, or just hitting them with the projectile.

Roberta calls a large blade up from the ground, piercing the opponent.

• Is linked to the Knife of Creation.
  
• Has a horizontal slider to adjust where the blade comes out.

There are no new specials available in the air. These are the specials Roberta has access to while airborne:

• Split
  
• Eviscerate
  
• Exsanguinate

This will cover the stats of each individual knife along with their general mechanics. Interestingly, they have notable differences from each other in terms of stats.


Certain knives are heavier than others, with the heavier knives more easy to manipulate in the air (fly at a sharper angle when DI is changed). The faster knives are less easy to manipulate, moving at a smaller angle. All knives are unparriable.

The weight of the knives goes in this order from fastest to slowest:

• Knife of Slashing
  
• Knife of Warp
  
• Knife of Duplication
  
• Knife of Creation
  
• Knife of Destruction

Knives also have some unique states. They can be stored (able to be used by any ability but Ignite), flying (knife was fired using their special), falling (when a knife hits something it goes into this state), and limbo (when a knife is on cooldown).

When a knife is falling, on frame 5 of its animation, it will have a hitbox that deals 150 damage and gives 10 hitstun.



Slowest knife of the bunch.

• This knife is linked to the special attack Cleave.

Fastest knife of the bunch.

• This knife is linked to the special attack Split.

Second fastest knife of the bunch.

• This knife is linked to the special attack Exsanguinate.

Second slowest knife of the bunch.

• This knife is linked to the special attack Gouge.

Right in the middle in terms of speed.

• This knife is linked to the special attack Eviscerate.

This will cover the various supers that Roberta has, along with their special properties. Seal: Release will have it's own section, and it's abilities will be covered in it's own section.


Will do 1 of 5 different effects based on the knife you chose.

• Effect will not take place if the knife is out on the field.

In neutral, this is a parry. In combo, this is a teleport combo ender.

• This will almost always combo end, due to not being able to be used in the air and it being a hard knockdown, unless you somehow set up a Knife of Creation at their landing point after using Terminate which would need to be used while the opponent is high in the air.
  
• The parry window for this move is frames 5-10.
  
• During combo, this will hit in 19 frames.

This will grab and crucify the opponent, then they are inflicted with slashes.

• This attack can only be used once 3 knives are out on the field. Each additional Knife increases damage by 750.
  
• This attack will only consume 3 levels on a successful hit.

Roberta rushes forward with wings and grab the opponent, which she then burns in holy flame.

• Damage is entirely dependent on how much Corruption Roberta has.
  
• Invulnerable from frames 6-15.
  
• This will always combo end.

Heals Roberta based on amount of corruption. It also recovers all knives on the map.

• Pushes the opponent away during the move, but cannot push opponent's away fast enough to prevent a hit at close range.

Roberta stabs herself with the Knife of Domination and enters her true form.

• This will beat burst, and puts the opponent in enough hitlag to teleport away before burst hits.
  
• Despite having 92 IASA, it freezes both you and your opponent in place until it is finished, making it a safe option at any range.

This will cover the different effects each Knife has on Seal: Release.

Cooldown for all knives after Seal: Release is 49 frames.


Fires the knife as one huge projectile that hits multiple times. Damage, amount of hits, and hitstun are all determined by opponent DI.

• This can be utilized in block strings.

Fires a massive red beam, which tne has a follow up hit of small explosions of blood.

• This is an incredibly good attack for catching people hustling or using anything with high IASA at a distance.
  
• This knife is linked to the special attack Split.

Roberta spawns a knife out of a portal from a distance, which homes in on the opponent.

• Good for combo extentions, but not much else. Where it's released can be changed based on DI wheel.
  
• This knife Is linked to the special attack Exsanguinate.

Roberta slams the ground, creating a large amount of swords from the ground around her.

• I'm frankly not sure what this could be used for, there are better options.
  
• This knife is linked to the special attack Gouge.

Roberta spawns a barrage of knives for a short distance in front of her.

• Very good for catching someone off guard, as it beats wait.
  
• This knife is linked to the special attack Eviscerate

This is Roberta's final form, where she throws away everything she holds near with the sheer intent to kill your opponent, as their death is now all that matters.

In this state, your health decreases rapidly at a rate of 10 per frame. In return, Roberta has permanent hyper armor, cannot be grabbed, and henceforth cannot be comboed. Below 2000 health, all of your attacks (except Fall...) have life steal, giving 300 health per hit, delaying your imminent death. As Roberta is entirely on the offensive here, she has no block, and henceforth no way to negate burst.

Roberta's hyper armor is unique, as it forces the opponent to whiff with no free cancel, despite hitting you.

Roberta only really has 1 movement option, though this one option is incredibly strong. She can also wait if for whatever reason you wanted to do that.


Roberta teleports to your chosen destination selectable by xy plot, creating a summon circle at the destination, which is purely visual.

• This will teleport frame 6, but in the end, it doesn't really matter, as Roberta always have armor.
  
• She is actionable on opponent's turn or in 16 frames.

Despite Roberta having no block, dodge, or any way to really block an attack, they do have 1 defensive move. Though, it's realistically just another attack.


A large burst of red slashes surrounds Roberta.

• Is a good 50/50 for blocking opponents, and is also a good "get off me" tool or to ignore projectiles.
  
• Invulnerable from frames 5-15.

Roberta only has 4 attacks, but they are more than enough to kill your opponent.


A massive upwards cleave, one of 2 guard breaks Roberta has.

• The velocity during the attack can be altered with the xy plot.
  
• Sweet spot is at the top part of the cleave.

A large horizontal cleave, and Roberta's fastest life steal move.

• The velocity during the attack can be altered with the xy plot.
  
• Sweet spot is at the tip of the attack.

A large cross slash with both of her hands.

• This attack is the only attack that the xy plot affects velocity immediately, essentially extending the range of this attack.
  
• Sweet spot is in the middle of the slashes.

A large cross slash at the location of the opponent.

• By far Roberta's strongest move, this allows you to control the direction your opponent moves, while also counting as a hit.
  
• The opponent flies in the opposite direction than the one you chose for its horizontal hits.
