The Trappers Homestead
The Trappers Homestead (also known as Hunters Homestead or cabin) is the house on the title screen and it holds some good loot including one of four lanterns, and a hunting rifle!
Loggers Camp
The Loggers Camp or trailer park is another great place to start and to head for. It has some decent loot in each trailer and has a dead person in a shattered building. Great to base at.
Area near Trappers Cabin
This may sound wierd to anyone who only thinks that building are inportant for great bases or camps. They can be wrong. This area's claim-to-fame is at four in the morning, look up in that area and you will see one of the best views you would probably see in video games! Also its a good hunting spot so check it out!
Camp Office
The camp office is located near Lake Mystery and is one of the BEST places to bunk down. It has a lot of loot, two wood stoves, a ton of fuel, a corpse, beds, etc. HEAD FOR THIS ONE
Conclusion
This game is full to the brim of secrets, surprises, and a lot of fun. (makes me stay on my toes!) The locations I mentioned in this guide are most certainly not all of the places to find but some of the best that I have found and feel like you should find them too.

I can't find the hunting rifle in the trapper's cabin. For some reason there is rifle ammo and a cleaning kit (i think. I set rifle availibility to on.

How about the gas station in Coastal Highway?

If you have a problem with wolves, read my guide. It's not that hard.

Plus, once you kill the wolf/wolves, you get meat, pelt, and guts.

Well I sure as heck didnt mean for this to be a big hub as it has begun but I am glad people are finding this guide helpful and leaving helpful suggestions for possible edits in the near future! @max and rainy, there is a chance the rifle spawns on the rack in the homestead. It could also spawn behind the lone lake cabin, under the stairs in camp office, things like this. It's not always obvious. Hunt around. It wouldn't be fun with the same loot, would it?

@Rainy When this guide was written the rifle was in the homestead on the rack. If you can't find it there then maybe an update moved it. Just for the record everyone is saying, "do the coastal highway map for the guide." or "update the guide." I might consider it but for now I am busy running a group of my own and trying my best to be active with it and my community here. Thanks for the support though! :steamhappy:

Have to say that the info you have on Trappers Homestead is incorrect. There was no rifle or a lantern there. Conclusion: The items found inside are completely random.
