Creston [Vanilla]

Description
Valley of the Swans

There are 3 versions of this map:
Vanilla: No mods or DLC required.
Mass Transit: DLC required. Mods recommended.
Rail Only Start: No highways. No mods or DLC required.

Overview
The map is based on a real location but is not 1:1 scale. It is approximately 50% of the size of the real location. The idea was not to replicate the region but use its landscape as inspiration. It is recommended to use the 81 Tiles 2 mod to unlock all tiles and enjoy all that the map has to offer.

The start tile is the location of the Town of Creston, a Canadian border town.

Geography
Nestled between the Purcell and Selkirk mountain ranges, the Creston Valley of British Columbia, Canada, is a geologically distinct area at the Skimmerhorn's base, featuring a wide flood plain formed by the Kootenay River. This river flows from the national parks of Banff and Yoho, through Fort Steele and northern Idaho, before reaching the Creston Valley and ultimately joining the Kootenay Lake and the Columbia River. The valley's fertile soil, a result of glacier melt 12,000 years ago, has been home to the Kutenai people, part of the Ktunaxa First Nation, who historically relied on hunting, trapping, fishing, and revered the sun and the Great Spirit in their tribal ceremonies.
