• This patch does not break mods or you can install mods on it.

Let's talk about the most common and annoying error: DirectX 8.1 Error. All you have to do to fix it is
Before doing this step, make sure your device has directx 8.1 or higher

Steam Library > Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour > Browse local files > and find dbghelp.ini here and delete it, don't worry, it won't break your game and even make the game run more smoothly.
This also works for C&C Generals.

That's it, you won't get this error anymore.

Stretching the game to suit your screen is very simple. We will also adjust the exact resolution in the following steps, but before that, let's do the stretching process.

While the game is closed, go to the documents folder on your computer > Find the Comand and Conquer Generals Zero hour Data folder > Find Options.ini and open it with notepad. You will see many settings here, the resolution we need, you need to change it according to your own screen. If you are using 1920 1080, just write like this.


After this setting, if you are playing Multiplayer, your edgescroll speed will be very fast and moving on the screen will be a pain for you. To fix this, we need to change the ScrollFactor section in options.ini to a lower setting. I use 10 for multiplayer, but it will be slower in Single.

• Also note that after making this change, you should not make any changes in the settings menu in the game, otherwise everything will return to its previous state.

You can change other settings as you wish. Gamma changes the gamma in the game. SFXVolume adjusts the effect sounds. MusicVolume adjusts the in-game music sounds. SFX3DVolume adjusts the 3D sounds in the game (environmental sounds, etc.). voice volume adjusts the volume of human voices in the game.

• If you are using gentool, your gen tool will not work after this step. I prefer vanilla game instead of gen tool.

The first setting you will change after installing will be stretching. You can change the screen settings from here.

• If you want to use these settings, you need to remove the leading semicolon

If you don't know what you are doing here, do not touch the other settings, this may give you a mismatch error. I will give you the fun settings at the end of the guide.




The max and min settings you can see here adjust the maximum zoom and outzoom of the camera, this is how I generally use it.
600-200 is generally a good setting, setting it any higher will make the game look weird
One way to fix this is to use DrawEntireTerrain = Yes

• Fast game

After these settings, the game starts to flow very fast, the fps here changes the frame in the game.

• Changing the money workers receive in the game
