Nakajima Ki-27 (SWITCH TO A VANILLA ONE INSTEAD)

Description
The Ki-27 (official designation - 九七式戦闘機, Type 97 Fighter) was a fighter plane of Imperial Japanese Army, designed and produced by Nakajima Aircraft Company. It was developed as a successor to Kawasaki Ki-10 biplane fighter plane during a competition that involved three aircraft design proposals, Nakajima's Ki-27, Kawasaki's Ki-28 and Mitsubishi's Ki-33 (which was a modified version of the A5M carier-based fighter). Compared to its rivals, Ki-27 had shown worse top speed and climb performance, but superior maneuverability, which led to it being adopted by the Army in 1937.

Ki-27 was primarily used during the early years of war, most notably, in China and during the Battle of Khalkhin-Gol. After this point, they were primarily employed as an armed escort for bombers attacking British Malaya, Singapore, Dutch East Indies, Burma and the Philippines, although they were used against the American Volunteer Group in the early stages of WW2. Soon after, it was replaced by the Ki-43 fighter plane, however, during the last year of war, Japanese armed forces pressed any remaining planes back into service for both their intended purpose and for kamikaze attacks.

Features:
  • Single seat, 2x 7.7mm MGs (using 7.92mm ammo belts until the introduction of 7.7mm Arisaka rounds), no bombs.
  • Added an iron sight on top of the scope tube because I didn't know how to set it up otherwise.
