SLI Fix
Settings:
1920x1080 (Full Screen)
& Vsync Off (primary only for checking if SLI works)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
GPU Scaling:
Before: GPU1= 98% GPU2= 10%
After: GPU1= 98% GPU2= 98%
--------------------------------------------------------------------
SLI compatibility bits:
1.) force Alternate Frame Rendering 2
2.) 0x080222F5 (Batman: Arkham Origins)
=> Choose&use only one of the two mentioned tutorials, at the same time!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Proof:
Tutorial 1 (easier one)
0. Download [www.nvidia.com] & install the latest NVIDIA Driver
1. Add "ShadowOfMordor.exe" to your NVIDIA 3D Profile Settings
1.1 Then set SLI rendering mode to Force alternate frame rendering 2 & hit apply

2. Enjoy Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor with SLI enabled.
Tutorial 2
Note:
This fix produces short but noticable flickering bugs after cut-scenes.

(Off course you can still use this fix if u don't mind...)
To uninstall simply remove your added ShadowOfMordor.exe from Batman: Arkham Origins...

0. Download [www.nvidia.com] & install the latest NVIDIA Driver
1. Download[www.guru3d.com] & open NVIDIA Inspector[/i]
(note: also extract "CustomSettingNames_en-EN.xml")
1.1 Go to Driver Profile Settings

2. Under Profiles you choose => Batman: Arkham Origins
2.1 & click Add application to current profile

2.2 There you select your ShadowOfMordor.exe
(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\ShadowOfMordor\x64)

3. Hit Apply Changes
& enjoy Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor with SLI enabled.
Attention (installing a new Nvidia Driver)
Unfortunately after installing a new Nvidia Driver, you might have to set your SLI Profile again! (Even with the Express Installation...)
=> BUT you can "prevent" that by Exporting all customized profiles and Import them back after the new Nvidia Driver is installed!
(Test-) System Specs:
i5 2500K @4500MHz
GTX 460 SLI @840MHz / 4000MHz R.I.P.
16GB DDR3 @1600MHz
120GB SSD
Win 8.1 Pro 64bit
FYI: I got a GTX 970 G1 @ 1.5GHz / 7500MHz (none SLI) so I can't update this guide anymore.

Tested on the following NVIDIA Drivers:
  • 344.11 WHQL

whats better to get good fps in games? turning vsync off or on? thank you

Possibly you need V-sync at the same FPS as FPS lock, so try setting your monitor's refresh rate to 100 Hz before playing this game.

It doesn't matter how many FPS, it can be 60 or 100, just follow the steps I posted and lock to whatever you want, I have tested many options, different v-syncs, different FPS locks, different settings, only the combination I posted works.

Well, I have a G-sync 144Hz monitor and +90 FPS is really needed to keep the motion smooth and nice, its all good and smooth as butter until the stutter occurs, going to try to lock the FPS around 90 and see if it works.

I have turned off in-game V-sync and used V-sync from Nvidia Control Panel and now everything is okay. Not really in benchmark, but in game everything is super smooth and tearing is gone, with in-game v-sync there is tearing even though its V-sync and FPS limit. So to conclude, you need FPS lock through Riva Tuner (mandatory, you'll get microstutter without it), ambient occlusion in game settings to High instead of Ultra (microstutter with Ultra) and V-sync from Nvidia Control Panel (in-game V-sync = tearing and strange game behavior when you get 60 FPS but game looks and feels like 30). For picture quality 150% res in game and SMAA+LumaSharpen from SweetFX.

@Krzych I have the same problem with GTX 980 ti 2 way SLI, playing on 1440p ultra settings, my FPS is locked at 100 and I get stuttering where there are a lot of enemies on the screen, it is so annoying I left playing the game because of this issue. :(
Thorstel 6 Feb, 2017 @ 5:57am
Ok it's not working properly. Sometimes game is entering some strange state when it looks and feels like 30 FPS but reported FPS is 60.

I am playing this right now with 2x GTX 1080 on 3440x1440 but with 150% resolution, so 5160x2160. There is some major microstuttering going on and fixes from this thread didn't help. However I noticed that vast majority of this stuttering is caused by Ultra ambient occlusion, and the other issue if frametimes spiking up to 100+ FPS even with v-sync. So ambient occlusion to High + 60 FPS limit in Riva Tuner + in-game V-sync and it works well now.
