"Depot download failed : missing license for depot (No subscription) "
I never previously owned the DLC on steam. i tried to be legit and download it by using humble bundle but even with linking my Ubisoft account and seemingly redeeming the keys- gold edition is NOT found in my ubisoft account.
Im sick of publishers like ubisoft telling us what we should play- let me play what i want damn it- or if you dont want to support it- let the community love it in a way you dont FFS.
anyway- it doesnt look like i get to do this legit at all so we sail the high seas gents. im gonna replace the depot with a little google drive download link i found and substitute it for that step.
to find the console on linux just use "steam steam://nav/console" on your terminal
game files are in "~/.steam/root/steamapps/common/Assassin's Creed Revelations/"
for me the depot downloaded into "~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steamapps/content/app_201870/depot_201871/"
idk why it says ubuntu I did this on arch (btw), prob a proton thing
