After 4 months of development, I'm happy to present the sound overhaul to end all sound overhauls: Ringverb Sound Overhaul! This addon replaces most game sounds with better ones, while staying faithful to the original sounds. It also aims to have a low file size by using the Microsoft ADPCM and 8 bit PCM formats.

Bring GMod Realism™ to the next level, with over 1000 replaced sounds, all carefully edited to ensure the best audio experience possible. None of the sounds in this addon are present in other sound packs. In other words, everything in here is 100% original.

Now you may be asking: How did you get this done in only 4 months? The secret is my own special macro called Ringverb (hence the title) that I have manually applied to every sound in Audacity (an audio editor). It uses a lowpass delay effect followed by a slight speed increase. These two effects are applied 3 times, and then the speed is lowered back down to be as close to the original sound as possible.

You can also use this in Half-Life 2. Just extract the addon and place the resulting folder in the game's "custom" folder.

Please note that this will conflict with nearly every sound replacement. If necessary, you can adjust the loading order of other sound addons in the Workshop tab in your Garry's Mod properties.
