Overview
The mech is unlocked at Level 25 and Cost 20,000 Requisition so you'll be getting them only after quite an amount of playtime.

The only one we currently have access to is the patriot exosuit. It's equiped with a Minigun on the right with 1000 Rounds and on the left is a rocketpod with 14 rockets.

Weapons
The minigun is equal to the one equipped on the minigun turret with medium armor pen and good damage. The rockets are those of the expendable anti tank which does mean they're weaker than the ones from the recoilless rifle but still get the job done.

Both weapons are quite powerful and you'll be able to engage basically any target but the problem is that, even if it doesn't seem like it, you dont have alot of ammo so try to fire upon high priority targets such a devastators, walkers, hive guards and commanders and save your rockets exclusively for enemy heavies. Let your teammates handle the chaff but if there are large groups of them feel free to let that minigun rip them apart.

Do also note that the missiles are a little tricky to use, they can only angle down a little bit and have no turning ability meaning you have to aim a bit to the right when you fire them. The angling down part means means you'll want to be on level ground when firing at heavy targets or have a good amount of distance between you or your target as the further away you are the less angling you require. Dont even bother trying to destroy bug holes with your rockets just get out of the mech and use your grenades once you kill everything in the area.

Survival
The suit is sturdy, when compared helldivers. While it can take small arms fire well, stuff like automaton rockets or bile from bugs will destroy it quickly if they hit in the right spot on the mech. The flat plate on the front is the weakest part of the mech with only light armor and if something hits on the weapons on the sides they will be destroyed. The legs can also be hit which will destroy your ability to move. To stay alive keep moving, stay behind mech sized cover like cliffs or walls and if you can try to direct hits to the angled parts of the front as they are medium armor meaning they ignore anything short of rockets.

When to use
To put it clearly mechs are like temporary power spikes, between their low ammo and unlikelyhood of survival they wont be in use for that long. Therefore they are best used when you are attacking an enemy base, attacking/holding an objective or holding out at extraction. Do also note that mechs alert enemies in a wide area so traveling with mechs isn't optimal. Typically it is best to call in your mech before you engage the enemy as the time required for them to be dropped in and for you then get into them can take a hot second which you don't really have during combat.

Mechs are best used on Eradication, Geological Survey, ICMB, Emergency Evacuation and Evacuate High-Value Assets type missions as those often have you holding out at various objectives rather than traveling around a whole lot. I highly recommend them for Geological surveys, even if you stealth your way to the objective doing the objective will cause enemies and alot of guys will spawn so you'll be get plenty of use out of your mech.

A last sidenote i dont know where to put elsewhere, strafing to the left or the right is fairly slow so try to move diagonally rather than to the directly to the sides.

Other mechs
In helldivers 1 there were 2 other types of mechs the obsidian and the lumberer.
The obisidan was equiped with 2 autocannons on both arms. It was able to deal with light targets extremely well due to this but had almost no ability to deal with heavier targets.

Leaks have show this mech might be returning. with 4 of the shoulder fired autocannons we have now. It will likely have less ammo and firerate than the HD1 one but will have better armor penetration abilities.

The last one is the Lumberer, it is equipped with a Acid thrower and a huge cannon. It was kind of like an extreme version of the Patriot with it being able to deal alot more damage but the acid thrower had less range and the cannon fired alot slower than the missiles.
Terminids

Time to show these damn dirty bugs the mechanized glory of humanity eh?

There isn't much the bugs can do to you in a mech. Your biggest concern when fighting them is running out of ammo, sure you can shred groups of them really fast but you'll expend most of your ammo like that. As i stated earlier you should prioritize elite bugs like hive guards and brood commanders but bilespewers are also to be prioritized, they are not only dangerous to you but also your teammates. Try to ignore scavengers and let your teammates handle individual warriors but help them out with groups. Surprisingly bile titans aren't too troublesome at a distance that is, just make sure to rocket them down before they get close and aim for the face.

Overall mechs are absolutely great against bugs but again they're just temporary power spikes and especially here as you will run out of ammo in only a couple firefights or even just half of own.

Chargers

Chargers are tricky to deal with as a mech and do have a good chance of destroying your mech. Don't try to aim for their torso you'll just waste your rockets instead aim for their front legs not to kill them that way but to break their armor. Once you break the armor on the one of the legs use the minigun to shoot at the exposed flesh. If you're out or low on minigun ammo it is fine to use up your rockets on them just be aware the amount of rockets it takes can be inconsistent, sometimes 2 put it down real quick then sometimes they're only felled after ive fired 8 rockets into them.
Automatons

Time to let the bots know they're not the only ones with heavy metal.

Unlike fighting against bugs ammo is not a worry when fighitng the bots because your mech will probably get blown up before you even get close to running out of ammo. I will admit mechs are aren't great against the bots and that's just because they will die pretty quickly if you aren't careful. The biggest thing is to prioritize anything with rockets and heavies as those things are your biggest problems. The minigun will help out a ton however, devastators and scout walkers don't stand a chance while you're around.

Dodging rockets
While fighting bots it is imperative that you do not stop moving, make sure to change your direction often as the bots will actually lead their shots if you move in a straight line. Otherwise again try to get them to shoot you on the sides of the front the rocket will do less if they hit your heavier armor plates. Do be careful to make sure they dont hit your weapons as rockets do like to do that alot. Also if you manage to spot someone firing at you you can sidestep their barrage.

Scout Striders
Don't waste your rockets on these guys instead aim for the top part of their legs. If you didn't know already while their pilot is heavy armor their legs are only medium armor. So you can destroy them that way but the pilot will survive so make sure to kill him too.

Hulks and Tanks
Aside from rockets these two things will destroy your mechs the most. although that is because some types of hulks have rockets but that's beside the point. For hulks just make sure to keep an eye out of them and hit their torso. Although you'll really feel the the whole "you have to aim to the right when firing the rockets" as you have to aim around the hulk's left arm or even further to hit the torso. Tanks however, they fire their cannon at you will probably die so make sure to spot them and kill them first, Aim for their turret and make sure to fire your rockets quickly as it takes alot of rockets to destroy them and you dont exactly have alot of time to live.
Closing Remarks
Mechs are a powerful tool that can help you destroy bases and complete objectives faster and safer. As long as you use the proper tactics and caution you can engage and eliminate any target so get out there and become an ace pilot!

I only use mechs in bug missions, and only when i feel like i may need to hold extraction or if its a eradicate swarm mission. Whenever i use them against automatons i get sniped accross map beofre i can do anything.

What I don't understand is why I almost never see the Patriot in any missions. It's a beast against bugs, and yet people never use it.
