Description
What is this?
This mod allows you to drop loot on the ground instead of destroying it. It creates loot bag props with the items that have been dropped, and the bags are destroyed once all their contents are removed.

By the default behaviour, items dropped will be placed in existing nearby loot bags. If no loot bag can be found around you, a new one will be created to hold your items. And if you prefer to create a loot bag for every item dropped, you can disable the "AttemptAddToNearbyLootBag" option.

Settings
The settings file can be found inside the mods folder under "Settings_SISDL.xml".
  • AttemptAddToNearbyLootBag. Attempts to add dropped items to existing loot bags very close to you. (default: true)
  • LootBagMaxCarryWeight. The maximum amount of weight for the loot bags created on the ground. (default: 30.0)
  • AttemptAddNearbyDistRadius. Radius to look for loot bags when attempting to add dropped items to existing ones. (default: 2)

Notes
This mod changes an important part of the game, so there might be some things that I have overlooked.

Change logs
  • "Drop" disabled when inside buildings/vehicles.
  • Multiple fixes to dropping from other character / building inventories.

Compatibility
Should be compatible with any mod, as long as they dont make heavy changes to the EquipmentDestroy function in the Session class. Report any errors in the comment section!

I wonder if items on corpses will disappear as well when they despawn....

also, I thought there was some recycling added in recent updates? I used to use my own mod for that but disabled that thinking that it is available.

I was thinking about doing a mod where you can build a prop (trash can) where items get deleted periodically. Would that be a solution?

Just wondering: is there another workaround to destroying items after installing this mod?

I think so, the script might have tried to add the items inside the first loot bag, but since the items are over the weight limit, it creates a new loot bag where the first loot bag are.

I'll add a new option in the configuration to disable the weight limit, and make some changes to make it more obvious when a new loot bag is created, I think they might overlap each other and this was the case here?

Oh I see, if the items are over the weight limit a new loot bag will be created. Not sure if maybe this was the case?

No items are lost, definitely just the loot bag not being combined. Also, the dropped items might have been over the weight limit.

Thanks dor the detailed report! Ill look into it, but it's just the loot bags not being combined right? No items were Lost?
