Original Battery Recipes (incl. Warfare)

Kuvaus
In original Space Engineers, batteries were just like any other block. Like an oxygen tank: you build it from parts, it's empty, you arrange to fill it with oxygen and move on with your life. Batteries were the same: they started empty, you charged them up and then flew your spaceship around.

I imagine at some point that people complained that they couldn't fly their ship around, having completed step 1, but moved on to step 3 without considering the all-important step 2 of charging the things. No charge, no fly, just like real life. So Keen in their infinite wisdom decided that batteries would start with 30% charge.

Great, except that now players can get free power by building batteries and grinding them down when they run out, over and over. So to fix this second problem, batteries became special: you can build them, but power cells turn into scrap when you grind them down. Exploit fixed, good job everybody.

But now you have to be super-duper careful when grinding down and hacking batteries, and usually end up grinding a cell or two off the top. If you're playing a mod where you're supposed to grind down and capture blocks, and parts are hard to come by (eg. Splitsie's Scrapyard challenge) then you're a bit stuffed, because of a stupid game mechanic.

It doesn't even make sense in game, because a) you can extract every other kind of part with no damage and b) you can also extract batteries from other blocks (engines, warp drives) with no damage.

This mod reverts all batteries to their original, proper and best state, including the new warfare ones. Batteries start with zero charge, and you can grind and weld power cells in and out to your heart's content.
