This is less of a mod more of a template

I'm doing a complete Guide on how to make your own Zombie textures don't worry it's not too difficult
you don't need to know how to code or model.
All you need is this tutorial and "Gimp" a drawing software which is free :)
You can ask me questions you may have here or via the project Zomboid discord where I go by Nerm

Ok to get started we are using my mod as a template. I shoved all the things we will need in it.

open your file explorer and go to, OS (C:), ProgramFiles(84), Steam, Steamapps, Workshop, content, 108600, 3249575288
and copy the folder named "mod"

Once you grab the mod inside the ID go to

Users, (your User), Zomboid, Workshop
and Paste it there
Make a second folder in workshop, Called whatever you want your mod to be called,
and Inside that folder make yet another folder called Contents
make sure the C is capitalized.
And put the "mods" folder you got into the contents folder
Now
At that point you then have the proper file structure minus 2 files
the 'preview' png and the text doc called workshop

Entering the mods folder you will see a "mod" text doc double click it

inside the mod text doc you have this

change the ID and Name to what you want your mod to be called.
The description inside this text document
only appears in the mod menu for your mod in-game not the steam workshop.

OK after all that setup you can use Gimp to go into the body folder of this mod. and edit to your hearts content.
just make sure to delete everything you don't want to edit so it doesn't overlap with any other mods.
anything else you may want can be found in
OS (C:), Program Files (x86), Steam, steamapps, common, ProjectZomboid, media, textures

Workshop ID: 3249575288
Mod ID: ZedTemplate

I would say that all that's left is to say how to make it work in build 42, other than that it's perfect.

I'm happy that people are still getting some use out of it.
Even if it's a tad outdated to my knowledge.

Mainly asking because I want to try, and recreate the Left 4 Dead style zombies you made.

Could this work for build 42?

Luckily mine haven't broken again, so far.
Still trying to find any way to get that Romero retexture running.

I really want to use it.

I never had my textures break, lucky me.

According to google it seems like GIMP has interlacing on by default, and the way you disable it is in "Filters > Enhance > Deinterlace"

I personally use Krita and whenever you export a PNG from that it lets you check or uncheck the interlacing option
