By "boss" this guide refers to Supervillains[marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com].

A supervillain is a special kind of boss. Unlike elite units which only have one action, supers have two. That is supers will act twice per turn.

Super attacks are immune to Resist[marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com].
That is, resists are no defence against a supervillain attack. Though Block [marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com]will.

Ideally you want to KO a super, but that can be very situational. So this guide isn't going to discuss cards/abilities to KO a boss.

Instead it ranks (non-legendary) cards and abilities that are ideal to use on supers in basic combat.

(That is besides using knockbacks into electrical conduits and blue Leylines [marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com]to stun them. For that see The Art of Knockback).
1. Banish
Arguably the best card/ability to deal with a super villain is Magik's Banish[marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com].

By banishing a super to limbo, they are denied both actions.

Can be used on frenzied supers as well. E.g: Sabretooth.
2. Mindbreaker
Hunter's Mindbreaker[marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com], like Magik's Banish, also costs 3 heroism. But when you use it on a super, it will use both the super's actions to attack units close by.

So using Mindbreaker requires considerable skill on positioning.

You must ensure that Hunter or their allies aren't near the super. Make sure there are two enemies close to them instead.

Use your 1 (or more) moves, plus environmentals to re-position Hunter and their allies.

(Not great vs. frenzied supers like Sabretooth).
3. Smash
Hulk's Smash[marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com]will Stun[marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com]a boss.

This will deprive the super of one of their two actions.

Very effective on frenzied super villains, as stun will prevent the super taking their turn.

Usually this will suffice.

Use on: Sabretooth, Crossbones, Fallen Venom, Sin, Dread Maiden, Dracula, Fallen Scarlet Witch, Fallen Hulk.
4. Crimson Bands of Cyttorak+
Dr. Strange's Crimson Band[marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com] is a bind action. That is it will bind the super villain, preventing them from taking one of their two actions.

Notably the upgraded version will apply Vulnerable[marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com], allowing the team to deal further damage to the super. (FYI this is not possible with stunned targets, who will revive if attacked afterwards).

Similar to: Spiderman's THWIP![marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com], Venom's Symbiote Bind[marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com], which can be used on supers in the same way.

Like stun, binds are very effective against frenzied supers like Dracula (Dracula's Tomb).
5. Live Wire
Storm's Live Wire[marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com] costs 1 heroism to stun a super.
6. Arc+
Once Storm has unlocked her level 2 passive, Rising Storm II[marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com](and you have a bunch of her cards in hand) you can expect to stun a boss with a full-combo Arc+[marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com](whilst keeping Live Wire+[marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com]in hand, for extra offence).

Though a stun is not always guaranteed.
7. Curse
Nico's abilities have Roulette[marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com] making them unpredictable.

Curse is no exception.

If it draws Stun [marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com]you can use it to stun a boss (like Hulk's Smash). Otherwise it may draw Weak[marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com]. While not as good as a stun, it will at least weaken the two super villain attacks.

(You may wish to redraw Marked or Vulnerable).
8. Stink of Fear+
The first skill card in this list is Wolverine's Stink of Fear, which can be used to taunt a super.

The upgraded version will also apply Weak [marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com]to the super.

Use on: Sabretooth, Fallen Hulk.
9. Hex Charge
Use Wanda's Hex Charge[marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com]on a super. Then for one of its actions it will explode, taking damage.

Very effective on frenzied supers like Sabretooth.

Bugs: Do not use/take on vampyre or Season Pass missions.
10. Up Here!
Spider man's Up Here! [marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com]will apply Weak [marvels-midnight-suns.fandom.com]to a super for two turns.
