The Charge Blade is simple. It is one of the 14 weapons in the game that you've selected to be your weapon of choice.


From all the yapping, complaints, and many other excuses that I have heard about for this weapon, I do NOT care about what those people have said from then to now about Charge Blade, it's made the way it's intended, and what many brainless people would say to you if you complain in game?
"Skill issue."
My advice is short and sweet. If you pick Charge Blade, good for you.
If you don't like it as a weapon? Find a different weapon, buddy. I am not gonna tell you again.

The Charge Blade runs with complexity, sure. Only good when you want to be "one with it."
Just like those Longsword users be creaming about when they pull off a simple parry and say: "I'm one with the blade."
The only true blade is Charge Blade, they use something that has been controversial even till now.
Of course, I don't slander just Longsword but many other weapons and even Charge Blade.
However, the one thing I hate the most?
Heavy and Light Bowguns.
(Yes, they are the same but different size variations. Silence your nerdy behavior.)

In a nutshell, Bowgun is literally just an easy a s s damage generator. Whether you use Spread or Pierce, I don't care. Sticky Ammo is more an unforgivable use and from a page of my book, that's sucking!



So call yourselves "support" all you want, I call you hoes "The Walking Skill Issues."

Off from my slander to the weapons,
The design for Charge Blade is quite niche compared with other weapons:
You are NOT a Lance / Gunlance player that holds block 24/7. (Varies with situations but most of the damn time, you should Guard Point for more input damage and actually avoiding damage correctly.)
You are NOT an SNS playing "support." (Horrible a s s builds I saw with Charge Blade are ones who think they are an SNS or Hunting Horn player that can heal and damage at the same time. NO.
Absolutely NO.)
You are NOT a damn Heavy Bowgun that fires ammo out of its a s s. (Sure, they got shield but really they can't Guard Point like Charge Blade, can they?)

So overall?
Leave the roles of other weapons be, ignore them, and focus on letting Charge Blade be what it is. A stand alone shield weapon that can deliver more punishing blows in a more unique style than what Lance, Gunlance, SNS, and Heavy Bowgunners can do.

I say this with my own words and I got the right to say what I need to say for you to understand.

Additionally, There have been a TON of Charge Blade users who complain a LOT about the flinching mechanic within this game and I feel ya.
Been there, said my words there too, and overall? It's a stupid mechanic.
I do not believe there is any other weapon who can complain about Flinching at all besides Charge Blade.

So, I will make this a note of other weapon users that you should be aware of.
Users you come around with that will flinch you entirely if you do NOT have Flinch Free.



Long Sword, Dual Blades, Insect Glaive, Heavy Bowgun | Light Bowgun, Lance | Gunlance, Hammer, Switch Axe, and Sword n' Shield (SNS)






Bow (Only Pellets from their weapon can flinch you a lot, remember that.)


Greatsword and Hunting Horn.

As a Charge Blade main, I'd highly suggest you get yourselves at least Flinch Free 1.
(IF you can, it is hard to when it comes to jeweling.)
The rest of your builds would just be simply SAED normalized fashion.

If you're familiar with modding, you find yourself Flinch Free on Charms.
This too comes in handy.

We will now move on forward, you can call me cringe all you like from what I said with my slandering but just know you prove my point correctly if you do.
You disliking this guide makes me aware that people are here disliking the way I typed this hoe before or simply mains a different weapon and are also problems to why Charge Blade is not being properly used.

I have humbled numerous of players running Savage Axe who aren't Charge Blade mains.

Yes, exactly right.

"But I know about Charge Blade, so why overview it in here?"

You sure do, but do you know what Charge Blades are better than the others? If not, allow me to tell you what these Charge Blades are for you to use prior to Endgame.

"Ahhhh! Okay, please enlighten me!"


For starters, there's two variation types of Charge Blade that you need to understand firsthand:

• Impact Phials [Only accessible to Artillery Jewel, at best can be maxed to 5]
  
• Elemental Phials [Only requires Elemental ATK depending on your choice of any Elemental CB. Requires Coalescence to boost it further.]

When you reach Endgame Iceborne, you will require the "True Fatalis Charge Blade"
This is your main source of DPS for Raw Damage // Impact Phials
Low on the Affinity, so what do you require to have it great?
Augmentation for True Fatalis Charge Blade requires for two variations:
Physical DMG:

• Health Regen I
  
• Affinity Boost I
  
• Elemental/Ailment Status I

OR

Artillery DMG Only:

• Health Regen I
  
• ATK Boost I

Do bear in mind that Kulve Taroth is an HR // MR Monster.
I highly suggest you do HR Kulve Taroth first to require the following Charge Blades for Elemental phials to keep for later MR purposes:

• Kjarr "Ice"
  
• Kjarr "King"
  
• Kjarr "Water"
  
• Kjarr "Thunder"
  
• Kjarr "Decay"

Augmentations for Elemental CBs requires:

• Health Regen I
  
• Elemental/Ailment Status II

For Ailments Charge Blades from Kulve Taroth:

• Kjarr "Blast"
  
• Kjarr "Paralysis"
  
• Taroth Strongarm "Sleep"

Augmentations for Ailment CBs requires:

• Health Regen I
  
• Elemental/Ailment Status II
  
  "Wait, Mr. Jaz! What if I don't have Kjarr CBs? I didn't do Kulve Taroth in HR!"
  
  No worries, during your runs in Master Rank should you have CBs that fit the alternative for you before you go back into doing the siege of Kulve Taroth and get the Kjarr CBs you require.
  
  
  Alternative Charge Blade Choices:
  
  Elemental CB alternatives:
  For Ice: Beotodus Charge Blade
  For Fire: Glavenus Charge Blade
  For Dragon: Alatreon Charge Blade
  Unfortunately, Thunder and Water CBs in MR that aren't Kjarr are hot garbage.
  Only the Kjarr CBs for those two Elements are better choices.
  
  Ailment CB alternatives:
  For Poison: Gold Rathian Charge Blade
  For Blast: Raging Brachydios Charge Blade
  For Sleep: Great Jagras Charge Blade
  For Paralysis: Acidic Glavenus Charge Blade
  
  Overall, this should give you an idea of what to gather up for yourself with Charge Blade.
  Only the True Fatalis Charge Blade and Kjarr CBs are viable for you in Endgame.
  
  "What about the Safi'jiiva Charge Blades, Mr. Jaz?"
  
  As for the Safi'jiiva CBs, the Elemental CBs of Safi'jiiva are hot garbage.
  The Safi'jiiva CBs for Ailment CBs are okay at best to use as an another alternative.

Moving past from the Charge Blade explanation category, I will introduce to you fellas with how to properly set up a Charge Blade build.

"But Mr. Jaz! I think I have idea about how to build Charge Blade already!"

Oh, that so? Well, allow this section to be your key reference at best or give you some little knowledge about important jewels that you need for your Charge Blade to be SAED worthy.

"Can you review Savage Axe builds too??"

No.



Ayyy, chill. Remember what I said from my introduction? Don't be giving me that look, silly ah.

Anyway, down below I will be giving you an explanation of Jewels that serve as a recommended jewel to have and why it's important.

So much so, I will be making a video about this soon to further explain decorations if slotted for CB and how to build it just right for comfort. When it does come around, it'll be on the bottom below:

• Attack Boost [Must leave it at level 4 only for Affinity bonus of 5%. Beyond level 4 ATK is killer to CB's damage as you're overloading your CB with more ATK than Affinity. You need to balance both together.]
  
• Critical Eye [If running with Frostcraft, Crit 5 is best with Fatalis Charge Blade since you got yourself the Frostcraft Meter for the ATK boost. Level 7 if running Fatty gear]
  
• Agitator [A MUST need for Charge Blade]
  
• Peak Performance [A MUST need for ATK boost on phials and overall damage]
  
• Artillery [Highly recommended for SAED play]
  
• Focus [Highly recommended for SAED play, Level 3 at best. No level 2 or 1, Level 3 only.]
  
• Guard [Highly recommended for SAED play, Guard 5 is more efficient than Guard 4 and below. Greater Stamina Reduction and can withstand majority attacks.]
  
• Offensive Guard [Suggested to leave it at level 2 for Frostcraft, Level 3 for Fatty gear, and Level 1 for Frostcraft Elemental CBs]
  
• Guard Up [Highly recommended for SAED play]
  
• Magazine [Highly recommended for SAED play]
  
• Weakness Exploit [WEX 3 is killer to CB Damage, do not slot it to 3 but do it at level 2 for Impact Phials CBs and Level 1 for Elemental Phials CBs, 50% of Affinity is too much for CB to handle if you don't have the balance of ATK with it. I suggest slotting the remainder of missing WEX jewels onto an Evasion Mantle.]
  
• Critical Boost [Suggested to leave it at Level 2 for Impact Phials but Level 3 for Elemental Phials CBs, same goes with WEX; Slot the missing remainder onto the Evasion Mantle for better results.]
  
• Evade Window [Comfort, that's it.]
  
• Health Boost [Only if you run Frostcraft and Safi'jiiva gear on Charge Blade]
  
• Divine Protection [Works with Fatalis 4 Piece, comfort reasons]
  
• Tool Specialist [Works with Fatalis 4 Piece, comfort reasons]
  
• Protective Polish [Only if you run Frostcraft on Charge Blade, puts Handicraft as a joke.]
  
• Quick Sheathe [Only if you run Frostcraft on Charge Blade]
  
• Coalescence [Only if you run Frostcraft on Charge Blade or Safi'jiiva Gear on CB]
  
• Resuscitate [Only if you run Frostcraft on Charge Blade]
  
• Resentment [Only if you run Safi'jiiva Gear or Fatalis Gear]
  
• Fire/Ice/Thunder/Water/Dragon Attack [Situational, but only suggested for Elemental Builds]
  
• Poison/Sleep/Paralysis/Blast Attack [Only if you run Ailment CBs]
  
• Item Prolonger [Good for Item Prolong Period such as Sharpening and Buff Durations. I suggest this ONLY for Safi'jiiva and Fatalis gears because your Elemental phials will NOT be affected by the extended buffs that it has except for Coalescence. As for Fatalis, extends ATK buff for your phials. I do NOT suggest putting it on my Frostcraft builds, your damage will suffer because of that skill. Even at level 1.]

• Handicraft [It's not that important if ya got Protective Polish, a lot of Savage Axe Users run this and still complain of sharpness for CB]
  
• Power Prolonger [Pretty good, same time not worth taking. Extends 3 mins to 5 minutes of Elemental Roundslash and possibly a full minute of Condensed Slash time. Overall? Just comfort.]
  
• Evade Extender [Comfort, again. Savage Axe users run this. Not significant at all for SAED play.]
  
• Stun Resistance [Only if you're running Fatalis gear]
  
• Slinger Capacity [Easily can be put onto mantles such as Rocksteady. I recommend it but same time, up to you.]
  
• Shaver / Clutch Claw Boost [Only if you run it with Assassin Hood]
  
• Brace / Flinch Free [Try your best to get at least level 1. If not, there are mods out there giving Flinch Free on charms worth taking.]
  
• Minds Eye [Only if you're desperate to keep phials since Condensed Slash lasts for 45 seconds.]
  
• Heavy Artillery [Only useful if running it against Fatalis. Use it for mantles only.]
  
• Fortify [For casual players only. If you like to stay in the match after a cart, be my guest.]

Pretty much in a nutshell, anything that hasn't been mentioned throughout the Good and Okay Jewels to have are bad for Charge Blade.
I would suggest not touching any of them.


That explains about the jewels, nothing too significant about them other than its very resourceful uses to make builds very powerful.
Just remember that Charge Blade's building ways is very different compared to many builds used for other weapons. Don't overfeed Charge Blade and make the damage worse out of it.
Be smart with it.

I have seen a lot of builds with Charge Blade used so much with Fatalis 4-Piece gear and it's built horribly. It's something that I kept for a long time that needs to be discussed from my guide here.
Though I am slanderous, I am willing to help if you accept my help.
If not, be out of your way to do whatever you want. I don't care at this point, really.

There ya go, you understood the whole concept (sorta) and now we'll approach down to what I have for you specifically.
Yes, it's my builds! All of them are SAED | AED fashion.
I do NOT share any Savage Axe builds.
Search them up yourselves, they're everywhere with all the degenerates who think they're "Charge Blade mains" but are absolutely a walking uneducated people that you should NOT take advice from when it comes with Charge Blade.

Take the word from me and rely on me to deliver you what I cook.
The builds below are with Gamma Arch-Tempered Velkhana Gear and Safi'jiiva Gear.
I am NOT doing any Charge Blade builds with Fatalis gear on here.
If you wish to have a build of Fatalis gear for yourself, I did make a video about it from the section above this one.

But really, I have tested these builds and they have delivered more than what Fatalis 4-Piece gear can do.
Any more builds that I have ready to set will be delivered onto here as an update.

- Blight Resistance and Expanded Elemental Power:
Within the 5-piece set of Safi'jiiva gear, you get the True Awakening buff from the armor.
This allows you to further enhance your Elemental ATK, boosting your Elemental damage.
You may run this with Blight Resistance 3 to negate all debuffs on you aside from Ailments.

If you run Blight Resistance 2 with Coalescence, however, you can go beyond the certain boost of your Elemental capacity and deal way more damage with your choice of Kjarr CB.

- Vampiric and Less WEX required:
Safi'jiiva's gear requires you to damage in order to gain health back as you drain your health without damaging anything.

Did you also know that Safi'jiiva's gear grants you 40% Affinity for free?
Press ESC, check your status on the right as you draw out your Affinity and you will notice it.
Therefore, you do not require WEX 3 or any Critical Eye at the matter. It's pointless.
You'll still hit hard Initial hits of SAED on monsters.

For every Safi'jiiva gear setup requires the following:
Critical Boost, Focus, Resentment // Coalescence, Blight Resistance, Health Boost, Guard 5, and the choice of your Element at maximization.
Evasion is optional for comfort and so is Item Prolonger to extend your buffs' duration.


- Slower Mobility:
I say this because a lot of people complain about Charge Blade being slow, so allow me to input this.
It does not matter whether the weapon is slow, you need to act hasty and not whining.
This behavior is the exact reason why people bring this stupid excuse up in Reddit forums of MH:W.

- Handicraft:
"Man, I feel like I need more than just Handicraft 5! The sharpness for Charge Blade is underwhelming!" - Every typical Savage Axe user out there.

- Vampiric [Again]
It's an Up and Down scenario, you have to be cautious of your health.



- Free Focus, Quick Sheathe, Coalescence and Resuscitate, Peak Performance, and Critical Draw
All of these Jewel components are beneficial for Charge Blade and requires a whole different play style of Charge Blade that you will see on my videos.
Coalescence for Elemental ATK and Normal ATK Buffs, Resuscitate for better Evade and Less Stamina Consumption when debuffed with an Element or Ailment, Peak Performance for more ATK boost for Elemental, Focus for faster CB swings, and Critical Draw for Axe throws // plays.

- Offensive Guard availability
You can also slot in Offensive Guard for more ATK Boost %, something I recommend only for FC Elemental CB and not Safi'jiiva.
Why? Cause it only boosts up for only the Initial hit of SAED to the Monster and not your Phials.
Therefore pointless to do so for Safi'jiiva gear since it's not Physical Damage heavy, only Elemental Heavy damage.

- Better Mobility
You can move freely faster with your ATKs and Sheathe quickly from the Quick Sheathe jeweling.

- Better Damage [1k damage possible with initial strike of SAED]
FC Elemental Charge Blade works for Physical and Elemental damage.
I suggest you jewel it with WEX only at level 1.
Leave it to your Evasion Mantle to take care of the 2 Tenderizer Jewels and max out Critical Boost.


- Handicraft [Again]
To counter this? Slap on Protective Polish.
Never Savage Axe with my FC builds.
It drains Sharpness, your FC meter, and damage output is not great for that play style.
You can only use it for AED and SAED with it.

- Easily stunned
When you have Frostcraft gear on, the chances of you being stunned are greater than with Safi'jiiva gear. So only use my FC builds when you are confident with not getting hit all the time.

- Slightly Lesser damage with Element Phials than Safi'jiiva's
Though you won't get the high damage with Elemental as Safi'jiiva's gear since it boosts a lot only for Elemental Status, it really doesn't matter as you get both Physical and Elemental Damage all together for you to hit a total of 3k+ damage from One SAED alone.

- Less Jeweling options
You will have to jewel these carefully. I highly suggest copying my builds the exact way as it is to get the full properties.



- Free Focus, Quick Sheathe, Coalescence and Resuscitate, Peak Performance, and Critical Draw [Again]
- Offensive Guard availability [Again]
- Better Mobility [Again]

- Higher chances to afflict Ailments
When you are building phials, you'll quickly stat in an Ailment of your choice on the Monster right before you can do an SAED. It's that good.


- Handicraft [Again]
- Easily stunned [Again]
- Less Jeweling options [Again]

- Underwhelming damage with phials and slightly lesser damage for Raw DPS
For Ailment CBs, they are underwhelming with damage hence it's a "Support" with the statuses.
Highest damage dealt with an SAED at best for Initial hits of it is 900+. Never at 1k+. [Except for when you afflict Sleep onto them and a Wake up opener with an SAED]
Depends on the Monsters ofc.

As for phials? Eat the Felyne Bombardier skill to boost it up further for that sweet 15% Artillery Boost.



- Free Focus, Quick Sheathe, Coalescence and Resuscitate, Peak Performance, and Critical Draw [Again]
- Offensive Guard availability [Again]
- Better Mobility [Again]
- Better Damage [1k damage possible with initial strike of SAED] [Again]
But with Impact Phial CBs using Frostcraft, put them at WEX 2 and Crit Boost 2, not both of them at maximum because as I said before: “WEX 3 is killer to CB’s damage.”
Only put the remaining WEX and Crit Boost onto the Evasion Mantle however to balance it.


- Handicraft [Again]
- Easily stunned [Again]
- Less Jeweling options [Again]

Now, of course.
Frostcraft Charge Blade is a whole different playstyle but still goes with the similar concept of SAED | AED.
You will NOT involve Savage Axe into FC CB but if you do so, you are to SAED | AED with it for bigger damage on SAED | AED.
Axe play serves differently than Savage Axe.
How so? Watch the video below:

"What's this section about, Mr. Jaz? How does it contribute to your CB builds?"

Well, if you need proof to see the damage output overall in the end of each quest matches, then I will show you.
Not a lot of people will believe me that Frostcraft Charge Blade provides a lot of good damage if played correctly and I will have to keep showing evidence to further back up what I believe CB can be used with.

"That makes sense! But Fatalis armor provides comfort and still liable to use, right?"

Correct, but people will still complain about Charge Blade anyways. It's up to you, fellas.
If you want to pursue the same choice as I do with FC CB, then do so.
If you want to stick to comfort, I don't blame you. After all, it all comes down to your playstyle.
Majority of people stick with Savage Axe, but I don't. Plain simple.
It comes downs as situational if the phials of Elemental CBs weakened, then of course it leads to that.
Impact Phial Charge Blades will be SAED comfort to me no matter what.

Down below I will show myself with DPS comparisons and show the massive or somewhat differences with how my FC CB builds are much greater to use for bigger damage than Savage Axe.

I will be respectful and blur out the individuals' names who had went CB and used Savage Axe.
Those who are listed and were a different weapon will be blurred too for privacy sake and will not count for this section's whole purpose of being made.
And...
I only post of individuals who are MR 100 and up.
Any individuals under MR 100 will not count due to them having the lack of resources and a good proper build for their Charge Blades.
At MR 100 and above should have at least gotten themselves involved a lot with MR Tempered Teostra for Jewel Grinding at this point with Fatalis gear.

As you understand the whole point of the section now, much more will be updated throughout as I continue my Charge Blade plays and show more.

You have made it past through reading and now you're onto the juicy bits.
This is an older show of Charge Blade Movements but will soon be updated with more "Advanced Gameplay" you can do with Charge Blade.

Anyway, Charge Blade's moveset in a nutshell will be listed below here, second part will have a video provided and "Woah, no way, we got gifs to show and including a keyboard with controls on how to play CB?!"
(Sorry but not sorry controller players, it is what it is.)

Quick drawing out your Charge Blade, it'd be Mouse 1 click.

With Focus levels, your phials can charge from the rates it can be.
STRONGLY SUGGEST you have it at Focus 3 at all times.

• Focus 1: Builds phials faster by 5%. Faster pace by 5% with CB attacks.
  
• Focus 2: Builds phials faster by 10%. Faster pace by 10% with CB attacks.
  
• Focus 3: Builds phials faster by 20%. Faster pace by 15% with CB attacks.
  
  The combo to build your phials and everything else goes as this with Focus 3, I will not explain further with the other two focuses beause they're out of the blue. Not important any longer but just fun little facts to know about.
  
  Light ATK (M1) < Heavy ATK (Hold M2 then release at the ding sound) < Light ATK (M1) = Red Phials.
  Charge it by holding SHIFT + Right Click = Phials Charged + M1 w/ M2 to do a "Guard Bash" and again to do a swirl animation that would give you two options.
  
  One of them is super significant for SAED play, you can literally do AED play only without it but either way, you need this damn effect in order to "Guard Point" or else you will be knocked back heavily w/o it.
  The other one is a bandwagon tech called: "Savage Axe" which you press C to enable.
  Ain't talking further about this one since it ain't a Savage Axe guide, remember?
  
  Now, you'll get somethin' called: "ERS" for short and in full length is: "Elemental Roundslash."
  When your animation hits the target, it's considered a Light ATK at the end of ERS animation.
  You can do one Heavy Charge ATK to them with a Light ATK after that and you'll get red phials for the second time. Literally.
  Unless somehow you miss, you gotta repeat the combo again.
  
  To charge "CS" for short and in length: "Condensed Slash" Just simply do the charging phials animation and hold M1 until you hear the electric charge comin' from your Charge Blade.
  Then let go and you'll do a "slash" that will support your CB ATKs with the sword to do extra damage with stun ailment to the monster.
  
  To SAED once you've gained ERS, M1 + M1 with M2 (Click both together) + M1 with M2 (again) and let the animation of it play.
  Same with AED, except you cut it short with holding S key (Backstep key) + M1.
  AED can be used without ERS but highly suggest having ERS in order to Guard Point / Block.
  
  To Guard Point, Hold Shift and M1 at the same time which will bring your Axe out except time it at the moment when the Monster Boss attacks you.
  
  Works the same way if you throw your Axe before it comes out by Shift Key and switching back to Sword and Shield at its end animation provides a Guard point too.
  
  Doing a CB sword and shield performances on their last hit in their light attack combo can provide a guard point.
  
  Same with Sliding Maneuvers where if you press M1 and any key that involves movement for your character, you'll do a slide animation with the shield in front of your character.
  This also considers as a Guard Point.
  
  Lastly, Savage Axe Guard Point is a special tech with M1 + M1 with M2 + M1 with M2 + C key to "Enable Savage Axe" except you time it at the moment when the Monster boss attacks you.
  
  All of these Guard Point performances will need a maximum of Guard Point 5 at endgame.
  I do NOT care about if you have Guard 1 - 4, you'll literally get your shield snapped in half regardless with most endgame Iceborne monsters effortlessly kicking your ass because you don't have Guard 5.
  I am also aware that you get +2 Guard on your shield with EMS, but that doesn't matter.
  Do also take Guard Up, it's significant to SAED play and your Guard Points to all their attacks.
  
  
  Axe without the Savage Mode (This is different from Savage Axe because it's not enabled.):
  
  Right, so when you press shift, you basically throw your Axe out.
  Holding W while pressing M1 will have your character launch forward with your Axe.
  
  Furthermore, if you keep pressing M1 over and over with Axe without the Savage Mode or Savage Axe, you'll launch players in Multiplayer which is really damn annoying.
  DO NOT DO THIS IN MULTIPLAYER, SINGLE PLAYER IS ACCEPTABLE BECAUSE YOU'RE ALONE.
  
  With phials, if you press M2 with M2 again, you do a swirling of your Axe animation that sends phials to stun ailment the boss if it hits the head.
  So much so, after you've done little animation, you can press M1 to send the Axe back forward and repeat the M2 process. You can technically loop it.

"What is this now? How will I enhance my CB play, Mr. Jaz? :o"
Good question to ask, fellow visitor. Allow me to clarify in these details by the list here:

• How to do Flash Openers on Monsters

For starters, Charge Blade like I said has been complained a lot.
These "enhancements" will surely give you the knowledge about grand openers for your SAED | AED attacks and further give you a greater advantage in beating the monsters faster than just not giving yourself anything to benefit from.

Clutch Claw maneuvers with its Flinch Shot ability is Charge Blade's best friend.
No matter what, do NOT follow with the "Chinese Opener" or what I would like to call: "The TA Wiki styled opener" on any monster you are facing as a CB.
(Meaning, you would claw three times to the monster's head and then tenderize right after to start with the monster being agitated.)
You guys are CASUAL players, NOT Speedrunners.
If you are a Speedrunner with CB, that means you're a full on Savage Axe player for TA Wiki.
So do NOT torture yourselves with doing this dumb "Chinese" opener for monsters every time you join an SOS or do solo.
If you do so, you're an LS main and I highly suggest clicking off from my guide now.

I literally have no respect for anyone who does "TA Wiki styled opener" on casual match ups in SOS.
Why? You ruin the fun and I am not in mood for any of your BS.

Continuing on now from my ranting digression.

For Charge Blade, I would suggest you carry Flash pods.
Why do I suggest this you wanna ask? Simple.
Whenever at times you are pinned down, you'd need to stop the monster from continuing its attack on you.
It's your lifesaver and many players within SOS do NOT know how to save anyone from a pin attack.
I am speaking from experience and it's a brutal truth. You hate me for saying this but you'll figure it out. I promise you.

Anyway, whenever you're in the starting of a quest, you'll be head to toe with the monster who is going about their business.
When you flash them, you can simply grab Stones, Torchpods, Mosspods, and many more other variation of pods to use to shoot on the ground.
This will distract them by a good amount of time for you to claw and get your clutch clawing prepared.

Once so, you must remember this:
Angling with your flinch shots on the monster to have it topple down and face another wall is a must.
If it is NOT facing another wall nearby after it gets toppled, you will have to flash it again and have it randomly attack based on RNG alone to try and have it facing the wall again.
If it does so, repeat the process by shooting at the ground with a pod and have the chance again.


Arch-Tempered Monsters will only give you one wall bang and they'll enrage.
However, you can simply ignore that with a flash opener and grant yourself two wall bangs at your stead.
Normal - Tempered Monsters will give you two wall bangs and they'll enrage.
However, you can simply that with a flash opener and grant yourself three wall bangs at your stead.

There are Monsters like Shara Ishvalda, Kulve Taroth, and Fatalis, however, they CANNOT be flashed. (Might be more, but these guys on my list are the ones that I'm aware of.)
So you need to be consistent with your wall bangs.


Alright, this segment here would be short and sweet.
You do not need any photos of what the mantles look like, you know them.
If you don't, then how in the world have you gone this far to not know about them?

• Rocksteady Mantle: This mantle is an embodiment of: "You either kill yourself or get killed."
  You may have the attributes to being a full on Juggernaut but any continuous attacks deployed on you will shred your health like crazy.
  However, it's a comfort mantle. Play it safe.
  
  
• Temporal Mantle: This mantle has its flaws with the amount of uses you can negate damage. I wouldn't really suggest this mantle unless you're in it for comfort or like me, hate being pinned.
  
  
• Evasion Mantle: Top tier mantle for my Frostcraft Charge Blade play, nothing beats this.
  Every successful evasion grants you temporary boost in ATK. It's worth taking.
  
  
• Glider Mantle: This mantle grants more jewels and can easily mount monsters.
  Lasts a long time and comes back very quickly. I highly recommend this mantle for your Elemental CB builds.
  
  
• Assassin Hood: Another top tier mantle for Charge Blade. It runs well with the punishing counters that Charge Blade performs with SAED | AED. This plays a huge role into the next segment of "Smoke Bomb Usage"

As said from the Assassin Hood category, this mantle pairs well with Smoke Bombs.
These bad boys can easily give you the highest amount of damage that SAED can do, it is something that Savage Axe CANNOT do.
However, if you're not onto this type of play style, don't worry. I will explain why every Charge Blade users should carry Smoke Bombs around in matches.

In some degree, you'd have to conceal yourself completely where the monster cannot pinpoint you.
This gives an advantage throwing in attacks but at the cost of being roared at when discovered.
Some monsters however do NOT need you to conceal yourself completely like Fatalis, Raging Brachydios, and Kulve Taroth from my knowledge.

"Woah there, Mr. Jaz is finally gonna talk about how I can whoop these monsters' ass?! FINALLY!!-"
HEY! SHUT IT!

Anyway, I formatted these into gif bundles on Imgur, I named each of their moves from my personal taste and it'll be something you can at least remember.

That's really self-explanatory from what I was describing, so here goes from their orders:

• Tempered Teostra

I would suggest training your Charge Blade plays against Tempered Teostra.
For comfort, you can run with Fatalis 4-piece CB to avoid being stunned, he's quite a slugger.
He is great for practice on doing Guard Points, something you need to practice with always.

If you decide to bring Kjarr "Water" Charge Blade against Tempered Teostra, do note this:
He HATES it. You can easily trigger his "Dusted Carnage" effect real easily.
I suggest you bring Kjarr "Ice" since it'll keep him tame.

Tempered Teostra does not really need any One Shot Bindering or use of Dragonrazor.
He's a chiller variation unlike Tempered Lunastra.

I do NOT suggest you Savage Axe Tempered Teostra at all since it's a pathetic joke doing that to a full on SAED monster.

Tempered Lunastra is a difficult version of Tempered Teostra.
Highly suggest you bring Kjarr "Ice" Charge Blade" against her.
WEX here to pointless, don't bother tenderize, and throw only your Elemental Phials at her.
That's your peak damage with SAED.

Overall, people do prove my point time to time that...

I suggest you start strong with aggressive game play against Tempered Ruiner Nergigante.
He's really easy to cheese most of the time and another good monster for Guard Pointing practice.

Do remember this:
Under 30% of health for Tempered Ruiner Nergigante, this is his rampaging moment.
He will go ballistic with fast movement and attacks, forcing you down to play defensive.

Simply switch back to defensive play until he gives you an opening.

I do NOT suggest you Savage Axe Tempered Ruiner Nergigante at all since it's a pathetic joke doing that to a full on SAED monster.

Tempered Furious Rajang will be brutal with its speed at times.
Just play it in Hybrid fashion: Defensive and Offensive.

Do be wary when confronting Tempered Furious Rajang.
Staying near his face for too long after his moves have been performed which most of the time he does something I like to call: "The Lawnmower."
It is a move not really possible to counterattack at all since he does it a fast motion either taking time with it for a second warning or instantly performs it without a nudge.

He would also like to grab most of the time, beware of it. This is a fate that most CB users face.
I too personally hate getting pinned by Tempered Furious Rajang when it's SOS specifically.
Why? Nobody else in Multiplayer would even bother to save you because they do not know this monster well at all and they're too busy meatriding away at Fatalis.

What do you do to help yourself?
Have Scatternuts or a Flash Pod equipped and ready most of the time to save yourself.

If you wish to Savage Axe on Tempered Furious Rajang like many others or be like me to SAED when given, pick what you wish.
I wouldn't really care on your approach either way.

Arch-Tempered Namielle in a nutshell is a chip damage Monster, play it safe with defensive plays.
He can be quite a nightmare for CB but don't let it stop you.

One note to remember however if any of you brings Kjarr "Fire" Charge Blade against AT Namielle.

• Like Alatreon, you will have to Savage Axe if he is present without any color to him.
  (Meaning Arch-Tempered Namielle has used the Supernova)
  
• With water absorption and color, you can SAED/AED him for better Elemental Phial damage. In addition, AT Namielle takes more damage with Element if it's unagitated.
  
• Without water absorption and color, you have to Savage Axe because the Elemental Phials become horrible damage.

This boss is a Hybrid usage boss for only Kjarr "Fire" Charge Blade users.
SAED | AED & Savage Axe all you need to.
For any Fatalis weapon of Charge Blade users against AT Namielle?
Up to you, you can be just like Kjarr "Fire" Charge Blade users too due to his fast recovering speed for his attacks and topples.

There are 2 ice coating phases and one without it.

If you plan to do Kjarr "Fire" Charge Blade against Arch-Tempered Velkhana.

• No Ice Coating Velkhana will give you higher Elemental Phial Damage.
  
• One Ice coating Velkhana will give you good Elemental Phial Damage.
  
• Two Ice coating Velkhana will give you horrible Elemental Phial Damage, forcing you to go Savage Axe.

This boss has been controversial with Charge Blade and I will straight up say this since I have done AT Velkhana numerous times with Charge Blade.
She is full on SAED possible. I do NOT care about your complaints (besides from her bs of damage) and your ways to persuade me that I should Savage Axe AT Velkhana, no no.

Remember what I said, I make a point with what I do.
No point in going Savage Axe against Arch-Tempered Velkhana UNLESS you are using Kjarr "Fire" Charge Blade during her two coating of ice phase.

Do note this: The atmosphere within Alatreon's Arena can be seen when you first start within your spawn area.

• If the hue is seen fiery, that means you'll have to bring the Kjarr "Ice" Charge Blade.
  
• If the hue is seen icy, that means you'll have to bring the Kjarr "Fire" Charge Blade.
  
• If the hue is seen without any of those colors, it is then where Kjarr "Dragon" Charge Blade could be of use. However, who in the world brings that element anyway?

Alatreon, in my honest opinion, is my guilty pleasure in using Savage Axe.
Only reason being is because when he shifts into Dragon phase where the elements that he uses are in a juncture, the elemental phials become weakened and won't do as much damage if I bring Kjarr "Fire" or "Ice" Charge Blades.

Therefore, Hybrid play with SAED | AED and Savage Axe is recommended.

Another controversial boss regarding Charge Blade.
I make a joke out of these hoes complaining about it, so lemme make it short.

Fatalis is a full on SAED monster.
If you can't figure out the format of SAED play against him, then go ahead. Savage Axe.
I'll still humble you. :)

..You're weird, but anyways I fulfilled yet another volume of monsters that is SAED | AED counter possible.
In chronological order, you'll find the variety of monsters that the Veterans know clearly about but never attempted them again after they fought Fatalis and started meatriding him.
It's disgusting.

• Tempered Frostfang Barioth
  
• Tempered Kushala
  
• Gold Rathian
  
• Sliver Rathalos
  
• Shara Ishvalda
  
• Kulve Taroth
  
• Raging Brachydios

Don't be like those Fatalis meatriders and be a player that knows how to hunt every monster.
It's called: "Monster Hunter" for a reason, folks. Be one with aggression and intelligent.

Frostfang Barioth was a classic for me during my early CB runs in Iceborne.
I used a lot of traps back then, but no longer now.

I suggest playing Offensive against this monster, he is always on his defensive play and would do a lot of tricks under his sleeve.

I would NOT bother to do any Savage Axe play against this monster whatsoever.
When you easily bait out his diving attacks and punish with SAED, you'll have to rely on Guard 5 and not evasion.
Using Savage Axe against Frostfang Barioth is a joke.

I had a lot of mixed feelings about Kushala. I still do.
It's a somewhat of love and more of a hate monster that kept close with me since Pre-Iceborne.

You will have to be aggressive against this boss, ALWAYS.
I highly RECOMMEND you SOLO this boss for yourself or with a Palico that has Para or Sleep.
Doing this with players is not beneficial whatsoever.

I would NOT bother to do any Savage play against this monster whatsoever.
Using Savage Axe against Kushala when it's full SAED play specifically is a HUGE joke.

Gold Rathian is all about control.

Shara is a slow monster, it's super good for SAED play only.
I would NOT bother to do any Savage Axe play against this monster whatsoever.
Using Savage Axe against Shara Ishvalda makes you a more than just a clown.

Kulve is a great boss for Charge Blade, specifically for MR.
I would NOT bother to do any Savage Axe play against this monster whatsoever.

A significant note to remember about Kulve Taroth is that when you mount her in Phase 2 which you SHOULD do all the time to start that phase off, you'll trigger her "Magmatic Aura"

For any Elemental CB users, remember this too:
Phase 2 is only great with Kjarr "Thunder" Charge Blade.
Phase 3 - 4 is only great with Kjarr "Ice" Charge Blade.

For any Impact Phial CB users:
Just SAED throughout Phase 2 - 4. lmao.

The True Humbler to beginning players to Iceborne's Endgame.
What people really overlook is how stupid he is when he gets certain debuffs.
Those causes his movements prolong more than wall banging him and trying to perform some damage.

If you plan to use Kjarr "Ice" Charge Blade throughout his phases, remember this from Phase 1.
His slime on his Head, Arms, and Tail need to be removed before you can SAED with your Elemental phials.
You can remove them with physical attacks, your phials, or using Green Moss pods.

He is by far my one of my favorite monster in Iceborne, SAED | AED play is significant to this monster.
You can Savage Axe, sure. He is faster than all the monsters combined on here and he'll still humble you. lmao.

"Wait... ANOTHER OVERVIEW OF MONSTERS FOR ME AS A CHARGE BLADE TO FIGHT AGAINST?! AWESOME!!! ..But wait, it's the final volume?!"
That is right. It is the final volume, I won't be doing anymore of these no longer.



Aw.. don't be sad! Cheer up! Be glad that my guide exist for Charge Blade users struggling against Endgame Iceborne Monsters.

Anyway, I have prepared my final ever volume making of the "Monster Overview" for you guys.
I'll list down below the monsters that I have selected from SOSes that I saw to be hosted every now and then.
Just remember, I only do the MR 6 Star Quests, these to me are "Endgame" quests people tend to focus on for grind, etc.

Yian Garuga is one of those bosses where you'll say to yourself just the way people saw Rajang.
"Guy is so small, I can't have all my phials hit onto him!"

That's where you're wrong. Why? Spacing.
You're too close to the guy and you're throwing SAEDs just to hit nothing.
AED playstyle against Yian Garuga is strongly suggested but the same time?
He is overall SAED possible.

I honestly don't see the point in Savage Axe against Yian Garuga since his parts are incredibly easy to break with SAED | AED playstyle.

Same as Yian Garuga but more aggressive.
Scarred Yian Garuga will further prove my point as it stands.
In Endgame Iceborne, you need Guard 5 in order to withstand his attacks and so goes with ALL the monsters here that I have on the "Monster Overview."

I do NOT see the point in Savage Axe against this monster, he straight up is fast, more on the offense, and can quickly overwhelm you.
So listen to this, yeah? Play it safe by doing Defense play of SAED | AED. That's it.

Brute Tigrex has been a favorite of mine due to personal jokes I share with my friends that I talk with.
In terms of gameplay, there is no point in Savage Axe to beat this monster.
If you have Kjarr "Water" Charge Blade, do remember this:
In order to damage him greatly, you have to keep the phials upfront to his head. Any phial that is thrown and damages his body with his tail will reduce the damage for the Water Phials.

Rajang has been my favorite as well.
People really seem to forget about him after their encounter with Furious Rajang, so lemme give you some info on him.

Did you know? Rajang takes more Ice damage compared with Furious Rajang.
This is mainly why I never fond over Kjarr "Ice" CB against Furious Rajang.
If Kjarr "Ice" CB is brought against Rajang though? Bigger profit. Trust me.

Tempered Zinogre was MADE for SAED | AED playstyle.
People Savage Axe this guy with Impact Phial Charge Blades and it is pretty ridiculous as time flies. It's really disappointing.

If you decide to bring Kjarr "Ice" Charge Blade against him, keep this mind:

• If Tempered Zinogre is charged, then your Elemental Phial damage will be great.
  
• If Tempered Zinogre is not charged, then your Elemental Phial damage will be mediocre.

In my opinion, I don't suggest bringing Elemental CB against Tempered Zinogre since he takes forever to recharge back up in "The Wrath of Thunder Descends" quest.
In his other quest, however, "Farewell to Zinogre," Do bring it. He charges back up 24/7.

Stygian Zinogre too was also MADE for SAED | AED playstyle. I'm serious.

If you decide to bring Kjarr "Thunder" Charge Blade against him, do also keep this mind:

• If Stygian Zinogre is charged, then your Elemental Phial damage will be great.
  
• If Stygian Zinogre is not charged, then your Elemental Phial damage will be mediocre.

In my opinion, I don't suggest Elemental CB against Stygian Zinogre instead since the damage for Kjarr "Thunder" Charge Blade's phials requires his charge. Instead, bring Impact Phials.

Tempered Blackveil Vaal Hazak is an old friend of mines during my early days on Iceborne.
Really simple monster but a lot of people do a lot of idiotic decisions.
Make sure to always avoid the effluvium and have Nulberries with you. That's really it.

If you plan on bringing Kjarr "Fire" Charge Blade against Tempered Blackveil Vaal Hazak, do note:

• If Tempered Blackveil Vaal Hazak is emptied out of his effluvium spores, your Elemental Phial damage will be decent at best with damage. It will remain like that until the head is broken.
  
• If Tempered Blackveil Vaal Hazak is harboring effluvium spores, your Elemental Phials will still be increased slightly higher than decent damage. However, once the head is broken is when your phial damage will increase greatly.

In my opinion, It's okay to bring Kjarr "Fire" Charge Blade but it's better suited against a monster like Namielle.

To summarize my content based on the Endgame Iceborne Monsters portion, I have selected the Twenty among the monsters that are ranked only 6 Star Difficulty.
Nonetheless, it should be self explanatory as every monster that is covered about from here is within the videos.

I haven't had to rely on Savage Axe at all to get these times. Your choice to believe me or not.
I only had to use it when it's Alatreon and AT-Namielle for reasons.

You wanna know how it's important? Simple, leaving an impression to many individuals out there will not only get their interest but their wanting to learn about Charge Blade as well.

It is hard to get people to follow my play style of Charge Blade, I get it.
Through my trials of getting the right RNG and literally having to relearn a lot of monsters throughout my guide, I would say that I have already perfected Charge Blade as it is but the work to perform against most of these monsters and put them onto "Monster Overview" took weeks.

Many SOS matches that I have joined throughout, I have always gotten common/interesting/odd messages from many random players that have talked about my SAED | AED playstyle.
Nonetheless, I will share it here because this is the whole point:
You guys will never get another CB player that is good as me when it comes to teaching SAED only.
Every single damn guides that I have reviewed during my days will meatride on Savage Axe, I do NOT.

Down below will be images only, some may have context and some might not.
I will continuously update this section until I have hit my goal of 9999 Charge Blade plays.
For now, take these as shout outs to the fellas I have met randomly on SOS matches:



For context: Arch-Tempered Velkhana v. Two CB Players (One SAED only v. One Savage Axe only)
At the end of it? I came out on top with damage using my Frostcraft Charge Blade Build.

For context: Helped a team defeat Arch-Tempered Velkhana and my resulting damage with Frostcraft Fatalis Charge Blade was 72k.




For context: Did a duo with a low rank and pretty much carried him through regular Velkhana.


For context: Ran through AT Velkhana with noobies and topped damage with over 70k.

"Woah, woah, woah! Why are you going to slander Charge Blade!"
Slander? Well, only for the complaints and my tiredness of seeing how poorly Charge Blade is being treated.
It is for you to understand from me specifically with how dumb some of these are to an extent where I will discuss about this within 2 parts of this section.

I had planned this section until every other part was finished upon my guide.
If you do NOT like to hear slander or do not like anything about it on here during your skimming, don't bother to read everything on here and skip to the "Resolution."
Take this as my rant and I will take it as far as I can go.

I will be respectful and censor out any names of individuals I will slander of their complaints about Charge Blade.



Poorly designed fight, my a s s.
I will say that I got over 4k Furious Rajangs that are slain. Sure, you can say I did other weapons against the guy to see the fun experience but mainly all of my plays were dedicated to Charge Blade before the making of this Charge Blade Guide.

• The Rajang openers does rely on AED, sure. The beam on the other hand? SAED possible.
  
• With Elemental Charge Blade, you won't be able to pull it off.
  
• With Impact Charge Blade, you can pull off an SAED.

WEX 3 is killer to Impact Charge Blades but works fine for Elemental Charge Blades IF Frostcrafted.
Reason why you guys cannot pull more than 400 damage of an SAED towards Rajang with Fatalis 4-Piece gear is because it's garbage against Rajang.
If you Frostcraft that hoe, you are guaranteed to hit more than 400 damage.
My highest damage at peak against Rajang was 937 of SAED with 200+ dmg phials of a use with Assassin Hood.
Lastly, learn his moveset. First you learn CB, then you learn Rajang, and then you keep practicing on him. NOBODY ever practices on Rajang again because everyone meatrides Fatalis.



Lemme speak in braindead for you, dawg.
You're bad and you got a skill issue. Guard Point works perfectly in World, you just got a you problem.



An example of a heavily reliant Savage Axe user.
Fatalis is SAED possible. Don't believe me? I made a "Monster Overview" apart of "Volume 1."
Check it out, I will still update every single monster that I haven't captured their moves that looked new to me or figured out a way to counter something against them from a move I have taken.



That's what everyone keeps yapping to themselves including Charge Blade guides.
I may not be popular but if this CB guide of mine explodes soon enough? Your statement will be wrong, buddy.
I've been a humbler of Savage Axe users. I have overlapped their damages completely with just SAED | AED play style with Frostcrafted Fatalis Charge Blade.
You guys just love the Fatalis 4-Piece gear with Fatalis Charge Blade.
That gear in my opinion is just so bad. Sure, damage of phials increase a lot, sharpness is a lot better, and you get more comfort amount of hp and stamina.
But let's come to reality. You will NOT be able to overlap any FC users' damage with just Savage Axe. You silly mofos be slotting Handicraft and still complain about sharpness. Ridiculous.



"Rarely break the head twice" is a such a funny line.
I would like you to see my "Fatalis v. Charge Blade" video then, buddy.
SAED has been possible for Fatalis. Nobody but ME had actually figured it out unlike everybody who kept Savage Axe play around so long against it.
If I remember in the early days when I fought against Fatalis for the first time, I had cart a lot as CB.
I won't deny it, but not once have I swapped weapons out and not a single time did I really rely on Savage Axe to carry me. I didn't realize it was a thing until after I beat Fatalis. LMFAO
Do not listen to this advice of having Power Prolonger 3 with Evade Extender, Divine Blessing 5, and all that unnecessary stuff.
If you want it for comfort? Go ahead, I don't care. But with me? Nope.
Play it safely just like a Greatsword would want a Flame cone from Fatalis and bait it out.
When you see it? SAED it as fast as possible.



This title aged well. Simple, I will speak braindead again.
You have skill issue and if CB isn't your weapon, NEVER touch it again and go be an SNS main.
Sword n' Shield has been a weapon that I never really fond about.
It's a baby mode weapon with one combo use is like a game on "baby difficulty" where one button will perform an entire combo for you.
Two uppercut claws and you get to tenderize for FREE. Not a single damn person I have met on SOS do this maneuver and keep on being damage hungry like DBs, LS, IG, HBG, LBG, etc.
I won't care if you try to defend that SNS is a good a s s weapon, it's literally stupid to me and will always be.



Oh, looks like I'm an elitist. Woohoo!
Charge Blade for the most part is seen as a complex weapon because you guys overthink too much about the damn combos.
Think about Gunlance, yeah? What ya gotta do? Grab pods, put them in, use that to stick a needle into the monster. Then perform all sh!t ya gotta do.
But instead? They play it like Lance. Seriously?
I look down on every single weapon used because most of you guys who handle it and don't know how to tolerate it properly are the reasons why this slander exist.
Most of players I see around nowadays are LS mains who think they're top dawg.
I make them think twice when I bring a Frostcrafted SNS against them because that's how stupid the damage from SNS can be and it can EASILY overlap every LS main with that mindset.



Longsword is popular, sure but it is the most controversial weapon out of all 14 weapons.
Like I said previously from the last image, every LS user or main that I have seen think they're top dawg.
And like I said from "What is the Charge Blade?" It is one of 14 weapons that YOU have PICKED.
I picked Charge Blade because I didn't think it was overpowered. I liked the design of it from scratch and continued with it from Pre-Iceborne to Endgame Iceborne now.
Most noobs on there with Charge Blade are like birds, I lead them with SAED | AED play style and they follow the exact play style of mine like a flock.
Most of them though who struggle ends up with usage of Savage Axe either way. lol



Charge Blade's play style has changed a lot due to the new function of Savage Axe.
I'm opt'd to stay my own route and do SAED plays only. I only Savage if it's Alatreon who shifts phases from Ice | Fire to Dragon phase or Arch-Tempered Namielle who doesn't have water absorbed.
I'm more aware to not launch players at all which is why SAED play is heavily appreciated.
Only time I do so is to put them away from danger or avoid them getting hit by another attack.
Times I have had done Savage Axe plays was for experimentation of builds or simply outta rage as the image mentions.
I won't say I'm perfect in any sort but just know I'm a lot better than most CB players out there right now.



Only people who say that are Long Sword mains. Specifically those who think Fatalis v. Charge Blade is impossible is not just a clown but the entire circus having this thought.

Seems like you are understanding where this is going, so let's continue the slander in this next part.
If you don't like it at the moment, why didn't you take my warning?

So again, I'll remind you:
If you do not like what I'm slandering about, skip to "Resolution" and stop reading.

If you like what I'm slandering, go ahead and continue. I won't stop you, your choice after all.



Long sword usage is basically overrated at this moment that the slander has been created.
SNS is NOT comparable to LS. SNS will literally gain more of the upper hand in damage than LS.
Though it cannot break Fatalis' head due to lack of park breaking probability, that still doesn't mean LS is better in terms of doing more damage than other weapons.
Charge Blade is NOT the worst melee against Fatalis, you people have not even bothered to try with SAED | AED tactics.
Charge Blade has been more complained about but Long Sword is more controversial.
These two weapons cannot be compared but if you ask me what's better? It's Charge Blade.

If you also don't use Charge Blade a lot, then why bother bringing it up?
You do NOT have the right to complain about a weapon you DON'T touch.
Only people that have more than 1k plays of Charge Blade can talk about it to me on what they think.

Pretty bad for blocking? That sounds more of you problem.

• If a Lance can hold its guard against Fatalis against its Flame Cone, then Charge Blade can do that.
  
• If a Lance can block all of Arch-Tempered Velkhana's physical attacks, then Charge Blade can do that.

For Charge Blade, it is different from all shield variation weapons. You can GUARD POINT.
The whole point of Charge Blade against Endgame Bosses is to throw blows at each other.
You smack them in the face and they smack you back. Think of it as a fist fight.
Instead you decide to bring up the slowness of Charge Blade and I would bet that you cannot perform fast enough with Charge Blade.
Mfs who ditch the blocking and going for Savage Axe are TA-Wiki Players. Majority of them.
If you're a casual player, do NOT bother.
The whole point for you is to play Charge Blade and learn with it as more matches you go.
Learn Charge Blade < Learn the Monster's Moveset < Practice and Adapt with SAED | AED play.



Only braindead players would say for you to get good and they also cart. Ironic, isn't it?
The game doesn't punish Charge Blade, it punishes you. Why? You're slow in your gameplay.
SAED | AED has no problems whatsoever, you should definitely check out my "Monster Overviews" that is based on all Endgame Iceborne Monsters that every mf has struggled with it using CB.

And all of your complaints throughout with you not delivering SAED to Monsters in Multiplayer sounds more of a you problem. No matter what, I'll say this in braindead: "Get Good."

You missing Guard Points, again, a you problem. You oughta learn the timing and do it properly.
Most of the time whenever I see an attack that the Monster delivers and having a feeling that it won't connect to my Guard Point, I would simply hold out Guard for a split second or more.
If you are confident in landing the Guard Point, then do it.

Charge Blade does have slow sheathe, I will agree, but you can always look at my "Charge Blade Manual" for more input on how to sheathe it quickly enough.
With that and along you should get Quick Sheathe, that skill is for you to take.
Savage Axe is a complement to Charge Blade, if hybridized with SAED, it brings a strong punisher.
The game play of Savage Axe itself isn't too nice to many people's eyes.

Lastly, Iceborne straight up doesn't punish Shields.
If you Guard Point with Charge Blade, having GUARD 5 on with GUARD UP against majority attacks, it should be no problem at all.
If you HOLD Guard like a Lance while taking a strong attack, you will be repelled back.
Anything under Guard 4 WILL NOT help. You will simply be punished 24/7.
This is why I despise anybody with Guard 1 usage or Guard 3 usage.
You will NOT be able to withstand any attack.

Pin Attacks from Zinogre and Deviljho are impossible to block. Just evade.
Velkhana's Supernova beam is IMPOSSIBLE to block. Just evade or stay UNDERNEATH.
Shara's beam is possible to block but it is a heavy attack towards your shield.
Guard 5 can withstand it, Guard 1 - 4 CANNOT.



Charge Blade is said to be complex, sure. Unga Bunga though?
That oughta be more of Dual Blades who love to be damage hungry a s s e s who can't tenderize with their quickest move to tenderize. They're more complicated users out there.

"Spam Heavy Gameplay" for Charge Blade, huh? Say the same for Greatsword then.
They're heavy hitters. The only brain dead that I see is your complaint.
Stay out of the Charge Blade zone and stick to yourself with Long sword.



Charge Blade user for years, huh? Cool.
I will not deny as well that Fatalis was a struggle for me during my early days on Iceborne, but that doesn't give an excuse that you have to Savage Axe completely against him.
I highly recommend SAED | AED play on Fatalis, because it's literal possible.

Elemental Charge Blade needs Crit Boost and Crit Element to make Damage.
You not having that on Elemental Charge Blade and running Savage Axe on that?
It makes you look like a sorry joke completely.

Guard Points are Charge Blade's Best Friend which is why you need GUARD 5.
Power Prolonger is a big usage for CB when it's Savage Axe but nobody has really thought of it for SAED | AED plays, huh?



That comes from Charge Blade user from other MH games? Wow.
Charge Blade in World is fantastic. You just suck at it if it comes to that.
Nobody has used it in the way that I have over time of my returning stay onto the game.
Once I've retired, pretty much up to you guys if you're gonna SAED or not. Oh well.

And there ya go.

So, on that note:
Just be glad that I came by to drop a bomb on education and my own slander to horrible excuses and complaints.
After all, I'm the only one you'll know who's a Charge Blade Legend for the moment of time right now and the whole outcome I have somewhat of expectations for is carrying the weapon's legacy if you wish to do so.

I do not want my precious weapon to be something disregarded in any other MH games that will be made in the current or future games.
It's great if you play it right and not just simply following the meta because they said so.
Do what you do and take my advice of Charge Blade, the lessons, and put it to good use.
Practice every day if you want to. It's gonna help you understand your approach in game play with Charge Blade. :)
