Long War Voices Complete

Description
--->THIS MOD REQUIRES ALTERNATIVE MOD LAUNCHER FOR WOTC USERS<---[github.com]

tl;dr
This mod adds the various accented-english voices from the original Long War mod for Enemy Within

Overview
  • 20 new regional English voices (15 male, 5 female)
  • Individually adjustable volume for each voice via a config file
  • Cooked
  • Support for events added in Voice Patcher, get the mod >here<.
  • Works with both base-game and WotC, Voice Patcher only supports WotC
  • Voices unaffected by attitudes
  • Support for normal soldiers and Reapers by default. Skirmishers and Templars must be enabled in the config.
  • Some of the voices can randomly appear on normal soldiers

Detailed Explanation
If you've seen my other legacy content mods, you know the deal at this point. Took the original voices and modified them to better suit XCOM 2's voice events. If the soldier voice had a language in the base-game, it can randomly appear on soldiers.

Some of the voices in this mod were already included in Old War Heroes and Long War Voices. These voices are:
British Male 1
British Male 2
British Female 1
German Male 1
Polish Male 1
Singaporean Male 1
South African Male 1

They are redone here because:
1. So they can be cooked.
2. So you can get ALL the Long War voices in a single mod.
3. To add support for other actions including those in Voice Patcher.
4. The voices for British Female 1, Polish Male 1, Singaporean Male 1, and South African Male 1 only had a single voice line for each action in the original mod. Meaning the voices only used about ~15% of their actual line total. I think this is because the original creator only used lines from the first of the 15 WWise banks extracted from Long War. They probably did this because when you merge all the banks after extraction, there will be a ton of duplicates that you have to manually sort through for deletion, and I don't blame them for not taking the time to do this. Being the psycho that I am, I actually put in the hours to do this for each voice individually, so all the voices have the correct number of lines.

Please note, the majority of these voices were voiced by people with little to no voice acting experience and simply wanted to contribute regional voices to the popular mod that was Long War from EU. Temper your expectations for voice quality knowing this. Also, be respectful towards the VAs. They went out of their way to record a whole bunch of dialogue for a mod to a semi-niche game. Remember, if you don't like a voice, you can simply not use it.

Also, something that should be mentioned is that the original creator of the Long War Voices mod (Plumse) took the time to ask permission from the original VAs before adding their voice to their mod. I didn't. If any of the original VAs request me to remove their voice from this mod, I will do so.

On the flipside, if any of the original VAs want to record ADDITIONAL lines for this mod, that can be arranged.

Please report bugs. I only did like 30 minutes of testing.

Q&A (sort of)
What about the voices for Zhang, Annette, and Van Doorn from Old War Heroes?
Legacy Voices Redux.

more regional voices plz
CS:GO Non-American Voices.

Will you cook this mod?
It is cooked. This mod was originally over a gigabyte in size before compiling.

What do you mean 'British English'? Be specific.
This is exactly how they were labelled in the original Long War, and there wasn't really a reason for me to change it.
Also, remember that English is a language as well as a nationality. I felt having an option labelled 'English English' made far less sense than 'British English'.

This depiction of my countries accent is racist.
This mod merely adds in the already-existing voices from the Long War mod back in 2015 while touching them up a bit to suit XCOM 2. If you have issues with any of them, take it up with Pavonis or the original VAs.

@Zyrkonic
Are you referring to the voices used in the demo video, or the sound preview in-game?
Zyrkonic 12 May @ 10:59am
I'll be blunt, the preview voices are emotionless like Arin Hansen (Or Egoraptor) in today's time.

You kinda need a somewhat beefy PC to use Idle Suppression.
