This guide will explain to you how to turn on a few files that are disabled by default.

The Unlockening
You will need to delve into your game files, but will not need to go far. Once you have identified where steam is installed, and have accessed that folder, follow this pathing.

steamapps > common > KitHack Model Club > Addons > basegame > parts

If you intend to change anything in any of these files, I would strongly advise using Ctrl+C to copy and (in a different folder/location) Ctrl+V to paste a backup.

Any visual changes you make in these files seem to only cause the changes locally. Others in a MP setting may not see these effects. So, basically, they're pointless... don't do it. Don't alter the size or anything else like that here.

There are, however, a few items of note in this folder. The file "aa_gun" is my personal favorite. Back up the file, then open the CFG file using Notepad or a similar program.


Knowledge is power - look around and learn what there is to see and do with these files. I recommend only changing three things if you're not certain what you're doing, and those are...

canBeVehicleRoot = True (This will be set to False by default. Change to True.)

and a little farther down

unlisted = False (This will be set to True by default. Change to False.)
tags = weapons (This will be blank by default. A value of "weapons", "jets", etc - just makes it easier to find. To know a value, look at a known listed object in a similar category for good tags to use.)

And then save the CFG file.

Look around and find out what there is in here. Share your findings here if you feel like it will help the community as a whole.

Worth mentioning: aa_gun (tags = weapon), edf_r1 (tags = jets), Podule_mk1 (tags = fairings), transmission (tags = transmissions; undercarriages)


NOTE: Subsequent updates to the game will reset these changes. You will have to make these changes again following an update or file verification.

As a note, Transmission is hidden for a reason.  It is bugged AF.   Current motor torque/RPM curves are not balanced properly for it. (Some may say this makes it more fun, not less).

The drive driven EDF has the same issues.

Theres quite a bit in the way of fusalages, engines, batteries, a figurine called Ned, and a transmission from what ive found so far. Ill have to look more into it later.

any ideas on how to get the fps to not completely suck?
