SIS Explosive Props

Description
Patch notes
  • Fixed bug not allowing to craft through the inventory menu.

What is this?
This mod adds explosive props to the game. You can find gas cans, explosive barrels and propane tanks that will explode when damaged, and also claymores and landmines that are triggered to explode when an enemy comes near them. They can all be placed on the ground and be used as traps.

You can add your own props to be explosive, and tweak the damage/radius options in the configuration. You can also set whether you (or friendly characters) are protected from the explosions. If you are interested in making more props explosive, read the settings section below.

The video shows how a landmine explodes when enemies come near them. This is the case for any props set as proximity-based through the "CanExplodeByProximity" setting.

Can be added to current saves, but it's recommended to generate a new map (new save or Hit the road) for the modified loot tables.

Mod Support
If you create a mod adding new props and want some of them to be explosive, then you will have to create an addon file in the folder of your mod, called "Settings_ExplosivePropsAddon.xml". There you will be able to specify all the explosive prop settings.

Follow the example file in this mod's folder

Settings
  • ExplosiveProps. The settings for each explosive prop. Here you set the damage and radius of the explosion, whether it's a proximity-based explosive prop or it must be hit with bullets to explode, etc..

ExplosivePropSettings
  • PropPrototype. The prototype name of the prop.
  • EquipmentPrototype. The prototype name of the equipment that will place the prop.
  • Health. The amount of damage the prop can take before exploding.
  • ExplosiveDamage. The maximum damage of the explosion.
  • ExplosiveDamageRadius. The distance where damage will be dealt.
  • DamagesSurroundingProps. Whether the explosion damages surrounding props (buildings, cars, etc..)
  • DamagesSurroundingCharacters. Whether the explosion damage surrounding characters.
  • CanExplodeByProximity. Whether this prop will explode based on proximity of other characters.
  • CanExplodeByBullets. Whether this prop will explode from receiving bullet damage.
  • ProximityExplodeRadius. How close characters have to be for this prop to explode, IF it's a proximity-based explosive.
  • ExplosionFriendlyFire. Whether explosions from your own placed explosives affect your community and allies. (default true)
  • FriendlyTriggersProximityExplosion. Whether friendlies (your community or allies) can trigger proximity-based explosives. (default false)
  • AnimalTriggersProximityExplosion. Whether animals can trigger proximity-based explosives. (default false)

Haha yeah, I briefly looked into that while making the mod but couldn't find an easy way, so I skipped it. I'll check next week, but no promises!

Just a small little quality of life change I would like to see added is the ability to target explosive props, or the capacity to place them near enemy buildings, as they are a bit hard to get use out of aside from the claymores and mines

No worries! But I'm not having these issues unfortunately, so I cant reproduce the error. Are you playing on the main or the publicbeta branch?

Sorry for the late reply, I think it's the mod itself, just tested it with sandbox with it installed along with harmony

Alrighty, thanks for reporting. just tried SIS Pick Berries in combination with this mod, and I don't get any issues. Are you using any other mods? On what game branch are you playing?

I am also having this issue, tested it running only Harmony, the explosives mod, and in zedmulate. Could not rip clothing to make rags and I think this also affects berry gathering, but have yet to try it. the mod is really cool though, hope it gets fixed.
