OWB - Exiled and Fated

Description
Exiled and Fated

UNTIL RUSTBELT RISING UPDATES, THIS SUBMOD WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FUNCTION.

War. War never changes..

This mod currently serves as a way to bug-test Alison's Expedition before it is integrated into RBR. After the mod is integrated, it will function as a buff mod and a definitive edition with additional content.

Alison's Expedition is a submod of RBR and ECR, introducing Alison's Expedition—a mission sent by the Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel to serve as an investigation of the threat within Chicago and also to serve as an exile for Alison.

CURRENT CONTENT:

  • Adds focus tree for Alison's Expedition

  • Creates a narrative tied to the Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel

  • Incorporates Balance of Power as a Morality System

  • Gives a fair fighting chance against the Chicago Enclave

TEAM CREDITS:

Project Lead: Very

Contributors: RBR Team, Dean and President Richardson

@Sudden Betrayal I do agree that the lack of Chicago restrictions may have been a bit too difficult, though I can’t exactly give the players that mercy in RBR when it’s integrated. I’ll definitely be giving free cores and give Alison some much needed buffs against Chicago

Like Logically shouldn't winning the race for The City of Racers event give you cores on the Speedfreaks considering the event says they decide rightful leadership by fastest racer and their leader joins your Military High command if you beat him? It makes no sense to me that wouldn't provide some level of legitimacy. I could see that being overpowered though and maybe this is just me being bad at the game, equally possible.

@verticalvery I am glad the bugs are fixed but how is this remotely winnable now with the restrictions completely removed from Chicago? as far as I can tell the AI goes for the expansion focuses as soon as possible and since this doesn't give cores for free or factories in Wayne I don't see how it is remotely possible to build up in time, I mean there isn't even a spirit for the Chicago war or anything. I do agree that in the last build the Chicago restriction was too much and you were just sitting around waiting but now it's too far in the other direction. Especially the Michigan route seems impossible but to be fair the Indiana route is clearly the better choice regardless. I just don't see what the intention here is with just the 13 divisions you can get from focuses plus your starting ones, there is just no way to get enough industry to build up and even the free guns from focuses are eaten up by garrisons because again no cores.

Kinda forgot I was working on this mod, but I will be adding all the changes. I’ll either update this submod around March or April. Depends on how I feel.

Just confirmed that was it and found a workaround if anyone else has the issue, just create a new division with the same name as whatever template you deleted or renamed and it will generate two full units of whatever you use, honestly pretty exploitable for free equipment.

I was having a lot of fun with this mod until I hit a similar crash to @Pogman. Mine was on the tribal event while the other two were fine. Based on how the Brotherhood one used the preexisting templates my best guess is the crash was caused because I deleted my militia one and edited the other two. I am assuming Pogman renamed or deleted his knight and paladin division templates to cause his. Usually those types of events use new templates to avoid this kind of thing.

Otherwise really fun mod, kind of wish it handed out at least a few cores somewhere for free but after you manually core some its not too bad. For example, I feel like winning the race should legitimize your rule over Indianapolis at least.
