Introduction.
This mod was created as a replacement for NT Surgery Plus from Ma'am.
It adds everything that an original mod adds (excpt tags), yet with some changes I wanted to see. The mod makes surgeon work harder and more responsible, yet making doctor role more important.
In this guide only differences between original NT Surgery Plus and this mod will be shown.

Sepsis.
Chance of infection while operating without any precautive measures is now increased to 25% (was 10%)
Sepsis can be transfered through blood!!!

In the addon sepsis is now devided into 3 separete afflictions:
  • Sepsis which is caused by gram positive strain of bacteria - Sepsis(+)
  • Sepsis which is caused by gram negative strain of bacteria - Sepsis(-)
  • Sepsis which is caused by resistant strain of bacteria - Sepsis(*)
All of them have same symptoms and progression speed, yet they all need different treatment.

Narrow spectrum antibiotics are used to treat corresponding type of sepsis. Deal quite high damage to organs.

Bacteriophages are viruses, which attack only one strain of bacteria.
Used for Sepsis(*) treatment. Has no side effects. Created with unidentified genetic material.
A single syringe is enough to get rid of sepsis.
Sterilization.

Autoclave is a machine used for instrument sterilization via steam and high pressure. It needs peel pouches to be used.
Surgeon starter pack is sterile by default. Used instrument counts as sterile for the same person it was used on till the moment of docking/undocking OR till used on other patient. Afterwards it needs to be sterilized, otherwise there is a high chance of causing sepsis while operating with the same instruments.

The pictures show all the slots and their assignment, additinaly they show all the instrumrnts that need to be sterilized after their usage.

Red scalpels - all organ sclapels (including brain).

Afterwards add description if you wish, then press sterilize button, take the output.

  1. Inside output slot there will be a peel pouch with all the contents, take it.
  2. Use it as a book.
  3. Contents of the peel pouch will spawn inside surgery toolbox in your inventory.
If there's not enough place, remaining instruments will fall out.

I was testing this mod and I've found I can't prevent sepsis from occurring unless I have both Medical Drapes and Ointment applied to the patient. I also had sterilised tools, 100 medical skill and proper surgery equipment. Is requiring both Ointment and Drapes intended?

You don't need to disinfect multipurpose scalpel, since it isn't affected by this mod atl all, yet it probably will be added in later updates.
This mod has all the features of original NT Surgery Plus, so while operating, you still should use antibiotic ointment and surgical drapes to be sure not to cause sepsis. Also, there shouldn't be any other people without sterile clothing nearby (surgical mask and surgeon clothes).

do you need to disinfect a multipurpose scalpel, since people appear to get infections no matter what for me
