History

One of the weirdest and most obscure vehicles in use by late-war Galactic Republic, the HAET-221. Developed by Mekuun Corporation, this medium entry vehicle was used to deploy large numbers of troops right from the orbit of the besieged planet. Unlike space versions of LAAT, HAET-221 was more heavily armed and armored, featuring anti-personnel guns, as well as a mass driver cannon suspiciously similar to that found on AT-TE. This allowed HAET to function more like a floating gun emplacement, omitting the need to make several passes on it's targets like LAAT.

The real extent to which HAET-221's were used still remains unclear. Seen only with 7th Sky Corps on Utapau, these entry vehicles never resurfaced before or after. For all we know, they could be a one-time purchase to supplement depleting Republic gunship fleet, similar to the prior requisition of Z-95 by the Republic. Use of these ships by other factions or after the war remains unknown.

Pros: decent maneuverability, good fuel efficiency, ridiculous amount of troops on board, pressurized compartment.
Cons: weird armament layout and a monstrous silhouette both for enemies and your hangar space.

To give this model proper weapons, as there's literally nothing comparable in vanilla game.
You will loose side turrets, but model itself will remain completely in tact.

Additional Notes:
  • Programmable blocks are turned off by default to improve performance. If you still desire to use them - access the terminal and toggle the group "Programmable Blocks" on.
  • Entering Pilot an Co-Pilot seats must be done from top, as they are not connected to the troop compartment.

@Ahsoka Tano no plans for it right now. If I do end up making one, it will be waaay after all the main stuff is published, but again - no promises.

so, question, dunno how this didn't occur to me earlier, are you making the pelta/medical frigate from the clone wars as well, or no? (republic could use a cargo ship :D)

@Ahsoka Tano well, actually no, it's this mod, as I wanted to make all hangar doors and hangar cell doors capable of closing.

shoot, I have a weapon mod I'm gonna use on em as is :D also, presuming you meant the force field doors, I added that mod to my worlds :D

@Ahsoka Tano right now they are both using Harbinger Ace's Hangar Doors mod, because:
A) Keen's Hangar Doors are kind of garbage;
B) I want to avoid large subgrids when possible.

They also might end up using a weapon mod, but even if that happens - weapons can always be replaced with vanilla counterparts.

@StarfleetPups modification would literally be just to replace guns with their weaponcore counterparts at most. It's not worth re-releasing, and if you really need it - you can do it on your own. This model wasn't even meant to use mods - but Apache-style Chain Gun from AWP was literally the only fitting turret for my design.

the assault weapon pack has 2 versions. one with vanilla+ and the other is weaponcore
