Having Map-specific Dialogue in your Custom Campaign
By Queen Blush
Picture this: you're making an edited version of Dead Center and want the survivors to not know each other in map 1. Normally that's something you cannot do but this guide will show you how you can achieve that.

This is it
It's easier than you think.

First create a trigger_multiple entity around where your survivors will spawn. This can be the mission start area or the saferoom.

Then add an output to this trigger that reads: OnStartTouch, !activator, AddContext, map:MAPNAME:99999

Replace MAPNAME with the map filename that you want to take the map-specific dialogue from. So for Dead Center map 1 it would be c1m1_hotel for example.

Just like that you got map-specific dialogue working. You'll have to add this trigger to every map you want the map-specific dialogue to play as it is reset on map load.

you can only use dialogue from one map at once. if you want to have multiple then you'll either have to make a custom talker for it or have multiple triggers that set the map context as you go. the survivors will only use whatever the most recent context they got
