Prerequisites
3DSen VR can be played with a keyboard, Xbox controller or a VR controller. All inputs can be hot-swapped as they all, by default, control the first player in the game.

The Xbox controller is recommended for most games for mobility and ease of use. Keyboard is a last resort, but not recommended unless you don't mind playing on a desk.

Along with regular controller games, the VR controllers allow alternative playstyles for Lightgun games like Duck Hunt, or motion-controlled playstyles for games like Punch Out!!

Also, any controller that Steam recognizes can be translated to an Xbox controller that 3DSen VR can recognize. Simply create a controller layout with a D-Pad, A, X, Start and Select buttons.

You must have an idea where the directory is for each of your games, as you'll need to assign the game shortcuts to each game you individually own. The directory will be referred to as %DIRECTORY, but replace this with the directory path to your games on your computer.
Set Up Settings
On boot or by pressing the Menu button (default is Escape on keyboard), you'll see a menu on the left, if GAME is highlighed, empty white squares with game names will appear in the middle. On the left menu, go down to SETTINGS.

On this screen, skybox settings are on the top, with key bindings for devices in the middle, and a diagram of the current input device is on the bottom. The first two rows of bindings control the NES title, whlie the bottom rows control the environment around the emulated game.

To control menu selections in VR, the options are Gaze or Lazer Beam. Gaze uses your headset viewpoint to look at the options you'd like to highlight and select, while Lazer Beam allows the VR controller to point and select objects. Gaze is recommended if not using a VR controller.
Set Up a Game
In the GAME menu, all supported games are labelled on white boxes. A game with a white box likely is not set up yet, and clicking on it will bring up a file browser to locate your copy of the game on your
computer.

Choose the rom that matches the game whose white box you selected, and click Open. 3DSen VR will attempt to load and start the game.
Create Title Card
After loading a game for the first time, you'll be in game. When looking at the title screen or at a point you would like to make a title card, press the Menu key binding to pause Emulation and go back to the 3DSen VR menu.

The menu will be on the left, while in GAME, the white boxes in the middle, and in addition, a screenshot of your paused game is on the right. Highlight the screenshot with your laser beam, and press the Select button or opposite trigger to save that screenshot to the game in the middle menu.

If you do not wish to use this screenshot, simply press the Menu key binding again to resume emulation, play through the game and repeat to try again.

Alternatively, if you have an image you'd like to import, from the GAME menu, highlight your laser pointer to a corner of the game in the middle selection screen until you find a + icon, click on it, and the file browser will appear. Go to the directory where your custom title card images are stored, select it and press Open.
Lightgun Games
With a supported VR controller connected, start a game that supports the NES Zapper lightgun.

Once started, an orange zapper will appear on top of your controller in your virtual space.

If the angle of the gun feels off, it can be adjusted with the trackpad or control stick of the lightgun's VR controller.
Save States
3DSen VR supports save states.

While in a game, press the Menu key binding to to back to the main 3DSen VR menu.

On the menu on the left, go to Save.

To create a save state, highilght one of the slots in the middle and click Start key binding. A current screenshot of the paused emulation will be used to indicate a slot is used.

If you highlight then select a slot that already has a screenshot, the old save state at that slot will be overwritten.

To load a save state, within the menu on the left, go to Load. Highlight the desired slot and then press the Start binding to load back where that save state was stored.
