Fast Forward

Description
Speeds up the game when you press the button

Default key is Q, default speed increase is x3
Also there's a toggle key, default is None

It doesn't skip update steps so speed is limited by your comuter performance

Settings are stored in
Barotrauma\ModSettings\Fast Forward\Settings.xml

I don't think it'll work in multiplayer
Commands
  • fastforward - copy of the debug command of the same name
  • fastforward_key - print / set fast forward key
  • fastforward_togglekey - print / set fast forward toggle key
  • fastforward_speed - print / set fast forward speed
  • printkeys - prints all monogame keys
  • printcolors - prints all monogame colors (why not)

hi, so when i tried inserting the commands, they just were not found. How do i fix this?? do i need to turn on cheats?

Because it's not the symbol on the button, it's monogame code of the button

You can try to set it to something in keyboard settings to see it's real name

The "Q" button indeed does work. And when I type "fastforward_key" console returns "Q".
When I type "fastforward_togglekey" it returns "None".
It still returns "None" when I type something like "fastforward_togglekey \" it returns "None".

In process of writing this reply I tried out "fastforward_togglekey P", and it worked. I guess that you can't use [ ] \ . Once again this mod is great! sorry for disturbing.

What do you mean by "can't"?

Try typing just fastforward_key, it'll print curent key, does it change when you set it?

It may conflict with other console bindings, because it's not a console binding
Are you trying to set it from main menu? - mods don't work in main menu
Are you trying to set from multiplayer? - i'm too lazy to permit commands in multiplayer

Love the mod. I ran into some trouble. I can't bind button for the toggle speed. It doesn't work neither in console nor in the setting thingy. is there anything i can do to change it?
