How to make Texture Packs (WIP-ish)
By Dead2Dynamite
How to make texture packs. Although Work-In-Progress, I know how to begin making them, and that's really all that matters cause the rest should be pretty simple.

The Beginning
So, you saw one of those awesome maps online that uses a texture pack and want to try making your own- right? That's what happened to me, and (probably) just like you, I was stumped. Well, now there's finally a guide! Hooray!

So, flip UABE! It's pretty confusing (at least for me) so let's instead get AssetStudio, at https://github.com/Perfare/AssetStudio/releases and look at some files!

Oh shoot, this SEEMS complex- and it is. But we aren't coding (At least I think so) so let's use AssetStudio to open sharedassets1.assets, and search (The bar saying "Filter") for "Editor", then a flip-ton of stuff sill appear. Just look around and theorize the meanings of stuff (If you want) and then it'll probably be easy to find the right things. Right-click the file you want to edit, click "Export selected assets", and select a folder to export the assets to! Then, use something good (Like paint.net or GIMP) to edit the image. If you're good at code, this could probably be used to make mods too!

I'll probably update the guide based off what people find (You know, so the only section isn't "The Beginning") and my own findings. Good luck making Texture Packs, and feel free to dislike this if it sucks lol. Or like it if it's good. Your choice.
Help, I can't import!
Don't worry, I have returned with new wisdom!

Apparently, importing is HARD. You have to use UABE now, so be careful! Search for the file you've edited, and right-click it- then, click the "Plugins" button, and select "Edit"- sometimes Plugins is empty for whatever reason, maybe it was just a bug with my version. So try to get a STABLE version of UABE.

Click "Load" or whatever at the bottom of the edit menu, and select the edited tileset- congrats, you've just made a Texture Pack. I saw some icons for the editor menu while editing, so if you want things to be easier you MIGHT be able to use those. I look forward to seeing your custom textures in the workshop- but for now, I'll be changing up the outfits in my remakes of TE1 :)

THE END.

...thx for reading!
Side Notes
#1 When editing textures Paint.net, it's helpful to have a second, half-transparent layer to put a bunch of tiles (Like vent floors) in for reference on tile sizes, that way your floors aren't off-centered.

#2 PLP is used at the beginning of some prop/decoration names, while OBJ is used at the beginning of others.

#3 "global" in the "TheEscapists2_Data\StreamingAssets\Windows\AssetBundles" folder is where stuff like Character Spritesheets and stuff are stored.

Files associated with the editor change the textures of user maps only. Textures from the "StreamingAssets" folder are another matter.

Oh- another thing, the other files have some stuff too :)
Although I don't think a lot of it's related to the Editor, but maybe changing it'll re-texture the main prisons?

Also, to open AssetStudio, run "AssetStudioGUI.exe"
Sorry for not including this in the guide.
