Taskmaster coming at you with another quick guide for Puzzle Quest 3. Grungli's adventure is Rune Hunters, and as the name suggests you have the opportunity to obtain some useful runes as rewards or merchant purchases. There is plenty of information to peruse, so hopefully you'll find something of value here.

Time to start the adventure...

Rune Hunters is a replayable adventure that requires 12 energy to complete. You are awarded 7 free energy per day, so you can complete this journey in 2 days. Otherwise, you can purchase 5 more energy at a cost of 50 gems, as often as you want and can afford.

The path you travel for this adventure is a direct, one-way trail of battles, with 3 merchants shops along the way. The first merchant offers a random follower's crystal for 250 gems. Cheaper than the shop, but you might get a crystal you don't need or want.

2) Centaur (1 energy)
3) Dungeon 1 (2 energy)
     
     Rewards - 1 Uncommon Rune, 1 Rare Rune and 1 Epic Rune

     Optional Merchant 2 (refer to the Merchant Offerings section below)
5) Ogre Mage (1 energy)
6) Dungeon 2 (2 energy)
     
     Rewards - 1 Uncommon Rune, 1 Rare Rune and 1 Epic Rune
7) Fire Giant (1 energy)
     Optional Merchant 3 (refer to the Merchant Offerings section below)
8) Wyvern (1 energy)
9) Dungeon 3 (2 energy)
     
     Reward - 1 Rare Rune, 1 Epic Rune and 1 Legendary Rune

For the first battle, which is against a Dark Elf, you will encounter the Fetid and Putrid tokens. Similar to other specialty tokens, the person matching the gem reaps some benefit.

I know this is Grungli's adventure, but it is not clear why he posing as a merchant. Here is what he is offering at each of the optional shops. Click on any image for a closer look. Random Crystal available from the 1st merchant shop for 250 gems, and an epic rune available for 3,000 gold at the third merchant shop. Since gold is easily recuperated, it is usually a good ideal to spend it so you are not constantly capped.
