Description
This mod adds ships from classic Cosmoteer as enemies for you to fight in career mode. The trade stations will provide you with new Bounty Hunter missions.

Around 150 ships of the original ±200 ships have thus far been added to this mod, so I'm about three quarter of the way now and I plan to add more. Upgraded versions of these ships will probably be added to this mod eventually, but for now my priority is to make more of the classic ships work in modern.

I used parts from Extended Tech Tree Mod to help make the ship blueprints valid for modern Cosmoteer and also wanted the original designs to remain as close to the original designs as reasonably possible. This is why this mod needs Extended Tech Tree Mod to function properly.

There will be one or two of these bounty hunter missions per system, but I will probably create an addon soon for people who want to fight more these classic ships more often so people who are satisfied with just 1 or 2 per system can also enjoy fighting these classic designs. I've used the original text (with minor change) from the classic Cosmoteer as mission description. Safe to say you have to go out and destroy it for the reward.

When I started working on this mod, I underestimated the amount of work required to convert these classic ships for modern (even with modded parts) as many core gameplay changes have been made and the old ships will not work as intended anymore even if the blueprints are not illegal anymore, so most required extensive rebuilding.

To help prevent issues with duplicate ship names, I added a 0 at the end of all ship names. I considered using A just like in my mod Upgraded Enemy Fleets, but this also resulted in duplicate name issues, hence I ended up chosing for the 0 (also to indicate I consider these ships base designs and not upgraded designs which is what A, B and C would indicate). Sometimes I had to make some compromises to make these classic ships work in modern (like removing the factories altogether or placing control rooms in places that originally didn't have them or just accepting sometimes a ship can have some minor flaw, etc) but most of the time I managed to get the ships working as good as can be. I think it was well worth it, many of the designs in this mod are imo simply awesome and some can be considered as iconic or original and should help make the game more interesting and the enemies more diverse and fun to fight.

Anyhow, I think it would be such a waste to not have these ships be able to fight anymore (except in the classic version but I prefer modern Cosmoteer).


These ships are older designs compared to modern and are usually less efficiently designed and probably not quite as effective as the ships that are newly designed and added to the game these days, but they may still provide a challenge (especially once I start adding upgraded versions of these).

People who used to play the classic version of Cosmoteer will probably recognize most of these ships. Here's your chance to fight them again in modern Cosmoteer :)

Version 1.0.5:

- 19 more ships added.
- Updated a few of the previously added ships.

- First ships to make use of electrum coils (only a couple).

I made the vast majority of the work for this patch last week, but I've gotten ill since then so tbh I don't know exactly how many ships are added by this patch, but the total amount of classic ships ported to modern Cosmoteer in this mod now should be 130 to 135 or so.

Version 1.0.4:

- 19 more ships added and at least one old one fixed.
- 1 more ship added for future use.
- Maybe some other tweaks and fixes but I don't remember.

Version 1.0.3 adds 10 more ships and makes fixes to a few of the preexisting ones.
Also updated the supported version numbers.

Version 1.0.2 adds around 20 more ships and made some minor fixes to some of the ships already in this mod (usually there would be minor errors like a crew bunk with no available doors so the crew would be unable to get out etc).
I'm about half way now, mod contains around 100 of the ships from classic Cosmoteer for you to enjoy fighting right here in modern Cosmoteer :)
