DO YOU LIKE CURVED SWORDS? IN THEIR ABSENCE, DO YOU LIKE CURVED STICKS? DO YOU LIKE SCREAMING IN THE WOODS FOR NO REASON AND HAVING RED BEARDS? JAVELINS???
Now that we got Thrace in a nutshell, let's see.

What does this mod do:
- Adds two (yes, 2) factional units to Thrace that were present in Troy, Tribesmen (renamed to Thracian Warriors) as tierIV infantry and Archer Chariots as tierIII chariots.
Both units had to be heavily rebalanced and fixed, and fit into the factional barracks to plug the holes there.
- I do NOT intend to add all the other units because quite frankly it was a whole mess of bloat with EIGHT shock infantry units.
We don't need all that. HOWEVER, I will almost certainly add a tierV unit down the line when I'm sure which one to do, while I play a campaign.
REMEMBER, WE CANNOT BRING ASSETS FROM TROY THAT AREN'T ALREADY LURKING IN DYNASTIES'S PACKS.

To expand on the design and intention...
Right now Thrace has a lot of shared units between its factional roster (that it will carry around) and its native line (that stays home and is used by everybody else as well).
While that is a bit iffy, one of the important things to notice is that you have what you need: early chargers and a tierIII one, two jav units, two spearmen who can switch to 2h (!). Between this last detail and the two 2h clubs you already have, I didn't want to add any further 2h outside of tier V.

So why these two units? Because your one sword infantry, the tier II Plainsmen, are only on the native line. And all the chariots except the tier V are on the native line as well. Now the faction recruitment chain is a lot more solid.
Also the Tribesmen/Warriors look badass.

If you don't like that approach, feel free to get another mod instead.

Secondary things this mod does:
- Fixes the other already existing thracian chariots to be high_threat like they should.
- Adds a custom battle version of Thrace that doesn't have a lot of old clutter (avoiding a data core). This faction doesn't have all the other nations' native units for now as it's essentially a test bench for me. But it does have generic generals with weapon choices.
- Tribesmen/Warriors in particular: updated a whole lot of stuff including their unit size, gave them precursor javelins, removed two abilities they had and added an attribute and a formation.
- Fixes some unit set stuff for the above and adds both spearmen and factional chariots to faction_units for the Catch your Breath character skill (this is not as clean as I'd like but blame the double drifting).
If there is anything this taught me, is that it would be much easier to create new units based on Dynasties units than to port stuff from Troy, cause there's virtually no stat that you can keep and that is going to cause trouble if you don't change it.

Also, to the coder who found it necessary to have six unit cards sizes (and not all proportional) for the 2d and 3 more for 3d versions, I hope that whomever hurt you to this point can't hurt you anymore.

Things this mod might do in the future:
- add one or two tierV units, especially if I remove the argive axemen there.

Love the mod, especially as a fan of the falx! Have you considered adding one or more Thracian horsemen units? Cavalry is of course dubious in this game as they mention regarding historical accuracy, but it would be interesting to see an Aegean faction with access to horses like the Hatti with Cimmeria/Assyria/etc--and of course, Thracians are well known for their horsemanship come antiquity. Up to you, ultimately!

Thanks Cataph! Very good info to know.

it's any third party asset including other SEGA games, you can find it right bang in the middle of the workshop EULA for Dynasties.

they hardened the line across the years but make special allowances for some details.

the troy to dynasties thing has been made very clear in terms of assets (e.g., if some models weren't left in, make your own) within the context of the Modding Den. I'd rather not quote or show screenshots of dialogues that weren't made/greenlit for widespread official statements, they don't like that, understandably.

Thanks for this mod! But is it true that you can't port assets from Troy? Last time I read the EULA of the TW games it was only forbidden to port assets from and to Warhammer games.

Been a huge fan of your mods since the Rome 2 days! Why can't we bring assets in from Troy? Legal reasons?
