First what you need is controller emulator.
My choice is X360CE, you can download from https://www.x360ce.com

Then, unzip and run.

Configuration
Add device (green big +) -> keyboard
map keys from keyboard to virtual controller. WSAD to D-pad; SPACE to A; UP to X
ofcourse you can make your own configuration like arrows + Z and X.

At the end enable controller 1.

Alternative, make almost empty configuration with 1 useless key like trigger.

Connect your real conntroller and play.

Good if you use some key from emulated controller 1 before use real controller 2.

A fairly universal technique, also proven in the Spyro remake.
