Steam Library Method (Recommended)
This is the easiest way to get Sins2 Devtools running on your PC.

Step 1
Open your Steam Client and navigate to your Library page by clicking on the Library tab.

Step 2
Click on the button to open a dropdown menu shown in the picture below:

Then check the "Tools" box. You don't necessarily have to uncheck everything else, bubt make sure the "Tools" category is selected.

Step 3
You should see a new category of installable software in your steam library called "Tools". Use the steam searchbar to search "Sins of a Solar Empire II - Modding Tools"
And it should show up!

Step 5
Install and run the modding tools just like you would with a game.

Nothing about this guide should cause the issues you are describing. Are you trying to use the solarforge? Don't use the function to select the entire scenario folder, its listed as broken in official documentation. Instead, navigate to your sins map directory located in your AppData/Local/sins2 folder and directly place/select scenario files there

Is this out of date now? I get an error when selecting the Sins2 install folder, and an error when I select the scenario folder for the scenario editor. It seems to be looking for files which dont exist?
