The game came out four years ago. Since then, it only had one major update which fixed only the most fatal game-breaking bugs, while not adding back any of the missing features and cutscenes from the original.

It has been two years since the last update, and since then the online servers have been (quietly) taken down, with matchmaking not working after extensive testing. The local multiplayer is also insanely buggy with phantom players being added preventing the game from even starting.

Let me be clear: THE SEPTEMBER 2022 UPDATE WAS NOT ENOUGH, AND THEY WILL NOT GIVE US MORE.

The single player is still missing vital story cutscenes between some missions, your loadout is reset after every mission unlike the original which is completely ruining progression in that regard. The enemies and weapons are clunky as well, with some really weird grips on the weapons in the first person, and a lot of ragdoll bugs still linger.

I contacted Support@microids.com which was their support email regarding issues with the game, and they did not intend to update or fix the game any further which effectively means that the game as it is on steam, is a scam with false advertising & promises from the developers.

I joined the official microids discord server a few months ago, and the admins there were not helpful or even aware on the issues the game had, and when they reached out to support on my behalf, they were told the same answer and have yet to even admit that the state of the game is terrible.

As I've explained, and you definitely experienced if you played any portion of the game, there are countless experience-ruining bugs, missing features that are not there as advertised, and an outright broken and inaccessible multiplayer mode on both local & online.

Unfortunately, despite years of waiting for patches & updates, Microids disappointed all fans with radio silence, going as far as to delete messages and ban users from their discord who joined to request that more attention is brought to this terrible, buggy mess.

As a fan who grew up playing the original, and pre-ordered the remake on day 1, it saddens me knowing how terribly Microids treated this game. I hope one day they do fix everything wrong with this game and add back all the missing content from the original. Until then, the classic edition is the most definitive XIII experience on steam.
