The best way to get a Deadlock playtest invite is from Valve itself. However, Valve’s official Deadlock invites are few and far between since the company is only offering that to streamers and limited folks. Alternatively, you can find a Deadlock playtester and have them invite you. Follow the steps below to do so

To get a Deadlock playtest invite, you'll need to connect with someone who already has access to the game. Although Valve initially sent out limited invitations, the game's popularity has grown, with over 80k concurrent players according to SteamDB. This increases your chances of finding someone with access.

Start by browsing X threads or Reddit, where you can find players willing to add you on Steam and invite you to the game. The Deadlock subreddit is a great place to start. Be cautious of scammers or suspicious links. A legitimate invite will typically come through a Steam profile link or friend code. Once you've connected with a friend who has access to Deadlock, you're ready for the next step.

NB: Invites may take longer than expected, ranging from an hour to 1-2 days. If you've already invited a friend, be patient.

Once your friend has been added to the game, these steps are for them to follow in order to invite you to the Deadlock playtest:

1. Open Deadlock and select the "Invite Your Friends" option in the bottom right corner.
2. Choose your friend's profile from the pop-up window and send the invite.
3. Wait for at least 30-60 minutes, as the invited person will receive an email from Steam.
4. Once they receive the email, they can view the invite, accept the playtest, and install Deadlock.
