The Hunting Minigame
The Hunting Minigame consists of finding clues . The clues can be , for example , Animal Tracks

But there are many more such as Animal Droppings , Broken Branches and Dead Carcasses.

The Minigame starts with an Animal Sound. Until you hear the animal you can run around without the fear of scarring away the animals ( I will talk about this again when I go over the Already Spawned animals ).
The sound differs from animal to animal . Goats , Horses , Rabbits make distinguishable sounds but all of them have something in common , they sound very loud and alive .

For people that have encountered the Already Spawned animals in game , the difference in sound is clear , this is important to keep in mind because even after the first clue was found there is a chance that the animal will spawn . Some people may say that you need to find at least 3 clues before the animal spawns , but it is not true all the time.

Here is where skills come into play . A high Awareness Skill is recommended to make it easier to spot the clue .

It is possible to hunt with lower skill levels but it is definitely harder and it can lead you to circle around the clue ( as I've deducted from forum posts it is quite common for people to miss the clue because of the low skill level ).

After hearing the sound , hold right-click by default and follow the direction of the sound.

Note! you need a compass or a high Survival Skill level to see the Cardina Directions , otherwise you will only see the North . The source of the sound is The Clue .
After Examining the clue , it will tell you the direction of the next clue or it may spawn the animal.

So follow the SOUND (even tough the direction is correct there is a chance that it may lead you wrong , it happened to me and many other so keep that in mind ) keep holding right-click until you reach the Animal.

The direction of the next clue or the animal Sound can range from , as shown in the picture above , North to East even tough the clue tells me the "the animal went North-East"

After finishing the Minigame , the animal is spawned and you are free to kill it .

After killing it , Remember ! always skin and chop it up . If you don't have the space in your backpack and neither a friend on standby with a vehicle it is best to chop it up so that the animal won't despawn .
Also it is recommended to place a Flag Blueprint near the body to make it easier to spot it if you need to leave the scene.
Spawned Animals
Spawned Animals , as I call them, are already generated animals that use the same Encounter Manager as the Puppets .

And because of this , the frequency of them spawning can be increased in the Server Setting .

Note! By increasing this value you are inevitably increasing the amount of puppets in the world as well.

These animals usually roam around forests , small farms or even on the outskirts of towns.

They usually come in small numbers but I've encountered Boar packs of up to 3 .

The Already Spawned Animals make a different sound than the clues . The animal sound more quietly , they aren't making much noise and move slow so it helps to hold right-click to spot them easier.
Prey Animals
The Prey Animals are the animals that get scared when you come in contact with them . They will usually run from your position if they hear or spot you so its best to keep a low profile.

The only exception may be the Boar and the Goat because if it spots you it will try to ram you and only then run away from your position , so keep that in mind.
The list Includes :
Rabbits

Goats

Horses

Deer

Boar

Chicken

These animals are found all over the map but , from my experience , they are more common in the B0-B4 row of the map ( I only spotted Deer in B0 , in the forests near the junkyard ).
Predator Animals
There are only two Predator Animals on the Island . The all mighty Wolf and the kind of the forest , the Bear. Had pretty good jump scares from both but they are nothing to worry about if you know what you're doing.

Note! These animals Do Not Have a Minigame . They are encountered while traveling around the map.

To hunt these animals , you need a lot of patience because to only way to hear them before they hear you is to walk slow , by scrolling all the way down to slow you pace , and to hold right-click to enter Focus Mode.

Wolves :
I found out that the only way to hear a wolf's Howl ( not growl ) is if you enter focus mode . The reason I underline Growls is because you hear them if the wolf is already on your tail , so not a fun time.

Note! You cannot outrun a wolf on foot ! so if you notice one following you is better to fight it . Best way is to have a One-Handed weapon on you . If you can hit it fast enough so that you don't get stun locked , you could deal enough damage to the animal that it may start to run away !

They spawn anywhere on the Island , even in the snow region.

Usually found in packs up to 2 or more ( not sure as i have not encountered more that 2 ) , but could also be found alone.

Spawning around the player as many other animals do and they don't really have much HP , can kill them with 2 headshots with a 100# Bow.

Bears :

Bears are pretty easy to spot as they take quite a big appearance . They spawn in the B0-B4 region of the map ( but I had many encounters in the C1 area above the swamp ).

These guys have quite a lot of health , taking up to 4 arrows from a 100# Bow

Same deal as the wolves , it's best to walk slow and use Focus Mode as much as possible to hunt them.
You can't really outrun them on foot but for an easier time hunting these try to keep as much space between you and them as possible ( if they attack you , try to run around trees to put some space between you and them , as they will try to attack from your left or right , not from behind as the wolves do ).
The Achievements
There are 4 Achievements in the game and 3 out of 4 require you to kill animals with a Bow .

So , to make it easier , make a character with the Archery Skill level Advanced . After that Acquire a Bow ( easiest place to get one is at the B3 castle ) as well as some arrows .

Start you journey by going around the outskirts of town . The easiest way to hunt many animals is going from town to town and listening for chickens or rabbits but you can find Goats as well.

Note! Predator animals Do Not Count towards the achievements . Don't waste your time hunting Wolves or Bears if you spot them .

Going in forests , you will start to get more Minigames for Horses and Boar . On the edge of forests you will encounter Rabbits and Goats , but as I said all of these animals spawn virtually everywhere.

Dedicate time At the time of making this guide , I have 700 hours in the game and still dont have all the related achievements , of course not all of these hours have been spend hunting but it takes time so don't rush.

To make it easier to kill the animals you could also decrease the health of them in the Server Settings

The achievements are:
Congarts on killing an innocent creature
you need to kill your first animal

Found a new Hobby
you need to kill 25 animals

Taxidermist
you need to kill 50 animals

Nature trophy collector
you need to kill 100 animals
End
Thankyou for reading this. If you found this helpful please leave a thumbs up and If you know anything else that I might have missed and would like to share please don't hesitate so let me know in the comments .

@The Flamp , Because of my lack of experience with hosted servers , I do not know what impact it could have on animal spawning , let alone sounds . I haven't played the game in a while but i dont think there have been any new settings added in the Server or Regular settings menus that could affect the sound of the animals . When I get access to the game again I will be sure to check and let you know , but I am interested if you found any animals at all while playing on your server . If you didn't , it might actually be a problem with the server , but if you did then I'll do my best to find a reason as to why that happens.

maybe i am just missing something but there are ZERO animal sounds to start the "minigame" for me... i have maxed awareness and have tried with and without the 3d audio setting enabled... im playing on my buddies hosted server, is there possibly a server setting that needs changed/enabled? is there something im missing on my end? other people on the server seem to have the same issue as well....

@Nomad , Happy to help ! I myself liked it as it was before the minigame update , but I do believe that the Devs had their reasons for the change . The only option going forward is to try to learn this new mechanic because I don't think it will revert back to how it was , but of course I could be wrong so feel free to correct me.

@Anakontas , The animals spawn anywhere on the map from what I understand , but I didn't know that goats could deal damage so thank you for sharing . I will add this info to the guide later on.
