Welcome

Greetings and salutations Puzzle Quest fans! Let the dream take hold during your expedition through this humble guide! I hope this guide has everything you need to know about Dreamhold Expedition, but if not, leave a comment below and I'll see what I can do to fix that.

I had to pause my gaming to create this guide for you, so let's get into it so I can get back to it!

Dreamhold Expedition

Follow Resh around on the hunt for relics in this replayable adventure, that grants you a whopping 8 energy per play. This makes it possible to farm gems if you are running low and don't mind putting the time in. More details in another section.

This adventure offers only 4 difficulties, rather than the standard 5. I'm not sure the point of some of the choices PQ3 makes with adventure, but nonetheless here they are.

Battles
Battles are in order below. It is a straight shot with optional side paths, but no split paths that force you to miss battles or merchants.

1) Wyvern (1 energy)
2) Arboleth (1 energy)

      Optional 3) Dungeon 1 (2 energy)

      Fae Gift

4) Winter Wolf (1 energy)
5) Frost Giant (1 energy)
6) Basilisk (1 energy)

      Optional 7) Dungeon 2 (2 energy)

      Merchant 1

8) Treant (1 energy)
9) Fae Rose (1 energy)

      Optional 10) Dungeon 3 (2 energy)

      Merchant 2

11) Dungeon 4 (2 energy)

Reward - Epic Scroll, Epic Rune and Dreamhold Relic

Fae Gift and Merchants
There is an optional Fae Gift available, as well as two optional merchants. If you have the gems to spare there is a great deal on an Accessory Glyphs from Merchant 1. You need plenty of these glyphs up upgrade your Utility battle scroll. They cost substantially more in the Shop.

Merchant 2 offers a Dreamhold relic for 1,000 gems, but you will get one for completing the adventure, which is replayable, making it cost only for only a few gems. Don't be suckered into purchasing it, unless you just do not have time to replay the adventure 5, 10, 15, etc. times. See the Farming section below for details.

Farming Gems
If you are farming Accessory Glyphs, the math is a little different as that requires an extra two energy to the make the journey, however, you can still make a profit on gems, just not as many. I'll let you do the math on that, but it is pretty close to the math shown below for a straight play through.

To complete the adventure in the most direct route, bypassing the side streets, as it were, requires 9 energy. You are given 8 energy per play through, meaning you only have to "buy" one gem per run, taking 5 passes to use that energy completely. Therefore, the details below are based on completing a full 5 adventures using the most direct route. You will make a decent profit in gems no matter which difficulty you chose. Plus you'll earn five Dreamhold relics for upgrading mythic gear.

Difficulty
Bought Energy
Reward
Gem Profit
Novice
5 x 1 @ 50 gems = 50 gems
50 x 5 = 250 gems
250 - 50 = 200 gems
Veteran
5 x 1 @ 50 gems = 50 gems
75 x 5 = 100 gems
200 - 100 = 100 gems
Champion
5 x 1 @ 50 gems = 50 gems
100 x 5 = 500 gems
500 - 50 = 450 gems
Ultimate
5 x 1 @ 50 gems = 50 gems
120 x 5 = 600 gems
600 - 50 = 550 gems

If you change difficulty across the 5 passes then the results will be a bit more or less, but you get the idea.
