Description
Frontlines is a weapon project inspired by Battlefield 1, essentially seeking to bring a style of arcadey early 1900s weaponry to the workshop. It also serves as a way for me to improve on modeling weapons and, for the first time ever, animating them myself.

This mod contains the Garret-1919, a very early experimental design that eventually led to the legendary M1 Garret. Chambered in a full-power round, this automatic rifle has the highest muzzle velocity of any Frontlines gun period so far. As well as this, being designed for suppressive fire, its rounds have a small area of effect where enemies are knocked down, even if they aren't directly hit by the round. If they are, you can expect a clean 3 shot kill at any range due to a lack of damage falloff. All this comes at a cost, though, with an abysmally low fire rate and poor ammo capacity, and the full power rounds generating a lot of kick and muzzle flash, it can be hard to precisely aim for targets.

Historical Section: This is based on the Garand T1919 or just Garand 1919, which was actually one of the first automatic rifles Garand ever designed. While he was originally going for an automatic rifle / LMG like the BAR, he later switched to rifles which, over the course of a handful of years, did actually lead to the M1 Garand. Honestly, though, I freehanded the entire left side of the rifle because there is all of two pictures of it, and both are low quality and of the right hand side. Based the left side on his later prototypes, specifically the 1924 prototype I think. I also took the liberty to add additonal details in the metal banding and rivets in the receiver. I was going to originally make this fire .276 Pedersen, but settled on .30-06 because I forgot to. Let me know if you guys would want to see that in game, I might make a variants pack soon for already released guns.

Thank you for reading this far. Join the server if you want, Frontlines is a project I have been extremely excited to make. More to come, albeit sporadically.
