Beginning

Everything must start somewhere - well. unless you are Jehovah and have no beginning and no end - but for this guide and adventure, it starts here! The Khazdhuli Expedition is very similar to the Dreamhold Expedition adventure, which I also have a guide on. The main draw is that powerful relic used for forging and refining mythic gear. In this case the Khazdhuli Relic.

Let's get into the details of how to obtain it, and what you can expect along the trail leading up to it...

Khazdhuli Expedition

Khazdhuli Expedition (also referred to as KE in this guide) is a replayable adventure that runs for 5 days, and gives you 4 free energy each time you start. As always you can buy more energy at 5 per 50 gems, should you wish to farm the relic, or just complete the adventure in one sitting.

The standard five difficulties are available for KE. Depending on your goal for playing, you might go with lower difficulty just to farm the relics quickly, or if you are trying to make a profit from the gem reward, you might play a higher difficulty for the larger profit. Health is not persistent, making it an easier play through.

Battles
Khazdhuli Expedition features five dungeons that you can fight your way past, which is more than most. Is that a good thing, or a bad thing, I'm not sure. However, four of them are optional, so they only impede your progress if you chose to let them. You can click on any image for a better, closer view.

1) Cave Worm (1 energy)

        Optional 2) Dungeon 1 (2 energy)

        Fae Gift

3) Dark Dwarf (1 energy)

        Optional 4) Dungeon 2 (2 energy)

        Merchant

5) Mech Rider (1 energy)

        Optional 6) Dungeon 3 (2 energy)

Reward - 1 Epic Rune, 1 Epic Scroll and 1 Legendary Scroll

7) Steam Golem (1 energy)

        Optional 8) Dungeon 4 (2 energy)

        Merchant

9) Dungeon 5 (2 energy)

Reward - 1 Epic Rune, 1 Epic Scroll and 1 Khazdhuli Relic

Farming Gems: For Fun and For Profit
To complete the adventure in the most direct route, bypassing the side streets, as it were, requires 6 energy. You are given 4 energy per play through, meaning you only have to "buy" two gems per run. To come out even, you need to buy energy twice (10 energy), taking 5 passes through the adventure to use that energy completely. Therefore, the details below are based on completing a full, 5 adventures using the most direct route. You will make a small profit in gems no matter which difficulty you chose, but not to same degree as with Dreamhold Expedition. Plus, you'll earn five Khazdhuli relics for upgrading mythic gear.

Difficulty
Bought Energy
Reward
Gem Profit
Novice
5 x 2 @ 50 gems = 100 gems
25 x 5 = 125 gems
125 - 100 = 25 gems
Veteran
5 x 2 @ 50 gems = 100 gems
50 x 5 = 250 gems
250 - 100 = 150 gems
Champion
5 x 2 @ 50 gems = 100 gems
75 x 5 = 375 gems
375 - 100 = 275 gems
Master
5 x 2 @ 50 gems = 100 gems
100 x 5 = 500 gems
500 - 100 = 400 gems
Ultimate
5 x 2 @ 50 gems = 100 gems
125 x 5 = 625 gems
625 - 100 = 525 gems

If you change difficulty across the 5 passes then the results will be a bit more or less, but you get the idea.
